The conclusion to Vera and Sebastian’s story is once again well written and steamy. Vera and Sebastian are spending every minute with each other. Sebastian is frantic at the thought of losing Vera again, so he’s holding on to her for dear life. Vera is in love, as is he, but there are threats all around them. The action in this installment is amped up, and so are the feelings and their connection. I admit to wanting to smack Vera a little, though, because, if she had just trusted and confided in Sebastian, so much of what happens could have been avoided.
P. Dangelico has a fan in me, and I cannot wait for more of her writing!
I’m not even sure how to start this review. I already know that there is no way I can do justice to this duet with my words but I’m going to try. I was in a book-slump. It wasn’t an awful one, just that nothing could keep my attention. So I kept trying and trying to find something to read. P. Dangelico was already on my radar as I had discovered WRECKING BALL, SLEDGEHAMMER & BABY MAKER earlier this year <— I’m a little late to her magic, but you know what they say, better late then never!! The blurb and cover of A MILLION DIFFERENT WAYS had me intrigued and I went in with high expectations. You know that feeling, when you start a book and you just KNOW that it’s THE BOOK!! I felt that early on, the excitement of a good book in your hands. It’s the best feeling ever!! To say I absolute FLOVED this duet is truly an understatement!!! I was CONSUMED, life stopped around me as I was reading. I rarely get SHOUTY or FANGIRLY over books lately but OMG these books, these characters, I couldn’t get enough. They became real as I turned the pages and I never wanted to leave Switzerland!!!! I swear I was sucked in from the very first chapter. Vera, illegal immigrant from Albania, struggling to find her footing. She is a med school graduate but without papers there isn’t much for her in Switzerland. She applies for a housekeeper position to stay under the radar. When she got the position I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation…. I wish I could make you feel what I felt when I met Sebastian. Talk about a brooding asshole. He was cruel, oh so deliciously cruel. Lost in his pain, his past, and his present. I wanted to cut his balls off and make out with him at the same time. Oh what EXQUISITE TORTURE <— the best kind. Their first interactions were downright painful. My heart squeezed in pain so many times <— I LOVE when this happens!!! “You make me feel things I don’t want to feel.” Honestly I’m having a hard time remembering the last time I encountered a love-hate relationship that was this kind of delicate perfection. P. Dangelico created a perfectly imperfect couple and gave me THE FEELS!! ALL THE FEELS!!! It’s no secret that I love this author’s work. She quickly became my go to author this year (although now that I ran out of books written by her, I kind of want to crawl into a fetal position and cry) but I have to say while I loved WRECKING BALL, SLEDGEHAMMER & BABY MAKER nothing prepared me to the STUNNING BEAUTY of what the Horn duet was. It’s hard to believe that these books were her debut books because they are truly PERFECTION!! There is so much research that went into these, so much knowledge. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s complicated and beautiful. Oh how I wanted to be Vera, to be loved by Sebastian. This man, sigh…. He is powerful, overwhelming, demanding yet gentle and kind. Don’t even get me started on the sexy parts. Sizzling hot burn your kindle down connection that kept getting hotter and hotter. “You’re the dream I never allowed myself to have.” I finished these books over a week ago and I’m still thinking about it. Honestly I should just reread because I’m not ready to move on I don’t know if I ever will be. I can’t let go and P. Dangelico needs to write faster!!! If you are looking for a new author to discover, look no further. P. Dangelico is a hidden gem and I’m so happy I picked her up on a reader’s recommendation!! If you read her other works, you must MUST read this duet and be prepared to be blow away. It’s nothing like her other works yet it’s the same #Crackilous story telling but more, deeper, rawer. I almost never reread but I think I’m gonna have to because I’m not ready to let go or move on. This story is holding my heart and soul hostage long after I swooned over the perfect epilogue!!!!
