A story of hope and patience and jealousy but in the very best way. I loved the jealousy as a plot point – sometimes don’t you just want the guy (or girl) to have see what it is like when they decide that a relationship is not worth it. Yep, got you Luke! I found his biting remarks to be hilarious and Louise is playing him right into her hands. But not all is well in marriage land for these guys. When the come together it is explosive and romantic. A fantastic story that will lift your spirits.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
There is nothing like getting caught in a compromising and being made to marry. A Midsummer Kiss by Tamara Gill is book 1 in the Kiss the Wallflower series and if this is how the rest of the series is going be, I can’t wait for the rest of this series. Oh how I so enjoy reading a Tamara Gill book… She never disappoints. Her characters are so very charming and her descriptions are truly amazing and there is nothing better than cracking up at a good funny story. Oh the banter is just the best. Her writing is wonderful and I find that they are easy to follow along, she is that good. I highly recommend this book…you won’t be disappointed.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
A Midsummer Kiss is the first book in the Kiss the Wallflower series. It was a short book but the author did a great job developing the characters. I could feel the characters emotions as I was reading. Louise Grant had lost her parents and then was separated from her brother and sister at the age of eight when she was sent to be a friend and companion to Mary, the new Duchess of Carlton. Since Mary didn’t need a companion any longer and Louise needed employment in order to support her family, she found a position with another family as a nursemaid and tutor. The last night before Louise left, Mary had her first ball. Luke, the Marquess of Graham, thought he was entering a widow’s bedroom and instead he entered Louise’s. He didn’t realize the mistake until it was too late. Reluctantly the got married but neither of them were happy about the marriage. After Luke leaves her at their country estate, Louise sends for her brother and sister to come live with her. She had always missed having a family and was happy that her brother and sister was with her now. Luke had no plans to ever get married or to have a family. After losing his parents and sister in a carriage accident he did not want the emotional attachment. Can Luke overcome his fear of loving someone in order for them to be a family? I received an ARC but am voluntarily writing an review.
Let me start by saying… I love Tamara Gill’s writing style!!! This book had me feeling a mixture of nice emotions. Louise and Luke were a couple who was forced to marry because of a mistake Luke made. Luke considered Louise below him – she was a companion. Also, Luke never wanted to marry or care for anyone. This story of Louise and Luke falling in love will have you falling in love with them. This book is the first in a new series – Kiss the Wallflower and if this first book is any indication, I will be reading all the rest!!

This is the first in a new series & a lovely read. Luke is the gorgeous aristocrat who is a rake with a heart of ice, he’s built the barrier around his heart since he was eight. Louise also suffered when she was eight but is loving, caring & giving. She gradually demolishes Luke’s aloofness until an event happens that threatens to take them back to square one but Louise is determined to reach Luke once & for all. The characters are very well portrayed & very likeable, I loved both Luke & Louise. The pace was very good & I read it in well under a day. I loved how their relationship developed also how Luke found satisfaction in teaching the twins to ride
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

My review :
Will a marriage which began on the wrong foot get a chance when one of the party was determined to never ever marry.
I won’t praise again Mrs Tamara Gill writing talent, but I must say I am sold to any of her new release.
And this one did not let me down.
For two people whom suffered from the rather same trauma, each coped with it very differently.
Louise, after having lost her parents and her home at a very tender age, was sent immediately to work as a young lady companion. It ensured she was able to provide for her younger siblings.
But now that her charge is all grownup and married, she is little to less to do.
So she is in between two positions when a drunken rake barges in her bedchamber and compromises her in the eyes of the London society.
And as usual, she is the one put at fault.
And even when the said scoundrel marries her, she is still shunned by the some well named self-righteous.
I loved her young siblings, they stand by her side, and refuse to cover because certain do-gooders love to unleash their venom at those they think inferior to them.
Luke, the Marquess of Graham made an oath to never marry nor love anyone, refusing to live again the pain he felt when he lost his parents and sister. He is no bad man, but he lives a shallow of a life, avoiding any entanglement by fear to suffer from any loss life can bring at his doorstep. But life is made of gains and losses, why he appeared at quite a coward to me.
Worse, until he realized his unsuitable bride is so much better than many women from his past, he didn’t even supported her.
I loved how Mrs Gill set the pace of this moving story, it was no insta-Love nor a quick march. Louise and Luke took their time to get to know each other, they have their ups and downs and hits and misses.
5 stars for this very emotional tale of healing and accepting life’s challenges.
I have preordered this book and was granted an advanced copy to by the author. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Louise gets her groove. After a hasty, unexpected marriage, Louise is left to simmer alone. Luke Ashby is scared to love, to be vulnerable after he has lost so much. He is more than what appears. Louise impresses me with her strength. With the help of her siblings she decides she isn’t going to sit by and be shamed.
A special story.
Louise Grant has been working since the tender age of 8 (a companion to a young girl her age). Her twin siblings Stephen and Sophie are living with their Aunt who depend heavily on the money she sends. Her job is now at an end (since Mary is now the Duchess of Carlton) and she is moving to York to work as a nanny/teacher for 6 kids…Mary is throwing a ball and insists Louise attend, since it will be her final night. She attends and enjoys herself but not being apart of the TON she retires early. She awakens suddenly to a man on top of her and kissing her. Her screams alerts the Duke and Duchess plus a whole lot of nosey attendees. The culprit: Luke Ashby, Marquess Graham, quite drunk he sneaks into a bedroom to meet a widow to have a quickie. Surprise!!!
Luke has made a terrible mistake. He goes into the wrong room and finds a woman but not the one he planned on meeting. Now both the Duke and Duchess are angry, the young woman is angry and the widow (who started all this) is quite loudly stating he should marry the poor young woman…It was just a tiny mistake. Now a he must marry (something he has sworn he will never do) and nothing he does will stop it. Well he figures he will drop her off in the country, he will live in the city and they both will be married in name only. Problem solved. Well add in two siblings, a quite demanding Duchess and the new Marquess shows Luke just what it means to be married.
Luke doesn’t stand a chance!
Luke, the Marquess of Graham, vowed never to marry in order to save himself from ever losing someone he loved, like he had when his parents and sister had died in an accident. He unfortunately has to marry Louise after mistaking her room as the one where he was to meet another lady. In the end he learns to love and accept it as a great treasure. There is a HEA but it takes awhile for this to come about. It is a beautiful love story and one I would highly recommend.
