I admit this was a very emotional read and taking care of a special needs child is hard but I couldn’t really relate to Ashley. I found her to be annoying and a pill.
This well-written book looks into tragedy of having to take care of a child that the world labels and the child has troubles adapting (sometimes) to that world. She has to trust he is worth letting not only into her life, but her child’s. The characters are very well developed and grow consistently through the book with a great story. A must read, but be ready for the emotional ride

A well written book filled with emotions , touching hard subjects. Parents with Autistics child. Talking about stress in your life.
While Mom is taking care for daily life, Dad working himself to the bone. Somewhere in this ,they lost themselves as couple.
To deal with stress and emotional rollercoaster Dd is introduce.
As much as I love the storyline approach to this subject was taking lightly. No communication,no consent.
Still it was enjoyable read

Emotional release and learning to trust again
A Matter of Trust was a mixed read to me. The story-line had a lot of emotional moments to that brought depth and substance to the book. But the H violated trust in more ways than one for me.
This is the story of a married couple, Ashley and Rob, who have an autistic son, Nickie. They have been living somewhat different lives for a while, she is dedicated to Nickie and he is a workaholic. But things cannot continue as they have been as the stress is just too much for Ashley and she is ready to implode. Rob must learn what it means to be the man in a family, not just provide money, and Ashley must learn how to relinquish control. Rob decides to use “domestic discipline” with Ashley which led to some fun and very entertaining scenes.
For me I just did not like the fact that Rob went outside the relationship he had with Ashley to discuss their intimate play and domestic discipline. Also that fact that he just started doing it out of the blue hit me the wrong way. I just know that if someone did that to me without discussing and agreeing to it first I would hit them back not acquiesce.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
