Makes you laugh. Makes you cry. Inspirational story with a happily-ever-after. What else can you ask for? Parker and Brittany and the twins won my heart. This one was a great deal on BookBub.
Such a sweet story!
I enjoyed reading Parker and Brittany’s story. The two meet through Brittany’s friend Heather who is also Parker’s niece. Because of circumstances 6 years ago Parker had secluded himself on a ranch where he has immersed himself in his work and become bitter and unforgiving. Hired as a nanny, Brittany brings life, sunshine, logic, and enjoyment to the ranch and steals Parker’s heart. Brittany loves Parker but knows they can’t have a relationship if he is closed off from God and church and refuses to forgive others for their wrongful treatment to him. This is an easy, fun book to read and I recommend it without reservation.
“A Match to Call Ours” by Merrillee Whren
I thoroughly enjoyed my time within this faith filled sweet clean contemporary romance. I received an ARC of this story from the author, that was one of my lucky days. I chuckled and there were times that the tears just rolled down my cheeks. I do love a story that engages my emotions and is still a fun read. Happy Reading ! !
This was a sweet Christian Story
This is a great story of redemption and forgiveness. The characters are charming; especially the young twin girls. I appreciated the effort of the main character to work on forgiving others who had harmed him. That is a great message.
I picked this book as a light summer read and it did not disappoint.
A Match to Call Ours by Merrillee Whren
Story where Brittany relocated to the area to follow her boyfriend but they soon breakup. She moves into an apartment with a girl friend but she moves also but in time she was introduced to Parker and his kids.
She had also done sub teaching and doesn’t care for some grades of kids and the pranks. She accepts the job on the remote ranch and falls in love with the girls.
Love hearing of the little things like sleigh ride, toboggan and snow angels and gifts around Valentine’s day. She puts her trust on the line when she takes the girl to town one night to the play.
She fears for her job after that and she confronts Parker about facing the town-there are so many there that believe in him. Parker goes with them to meet her ex and he’s involved with cancer research and Brittany has no clue why they connect to one another.
Like how little clues come out over the length of the story so we really find out what happened and how he adopted the two twin girls.
Love hearing of the companionship of the housekeeper when she teaches Brittany how to knit, so precious!
Main problem is Parker had given up on God, lost his faith til girls start praying at dinner for the calves and when they are all fine the next morning he wants to start believing again. Love hearing of the moves he makes to make things right.
Handful of characters, easy to keep track of who is who and then the townsfolk appear. Didn’t see the end happening but I love it!
Received this review copy from the author via Sweet Romance FB Team and this is my honest opinion.
Parker let his bitterness of what happened cloud his feelings and cause him hide away with his adopted daughters afraid of the judgment of other towards them. Brittany was hurt by an indifferent boyfriend and losing her job. Becoming Parker’s temporary nanny was an answer to her prayers. She has her battles with the girls and I applaud her for not losing her cool when they pushed her buttons. This was a Christian romance about forgiveness and being willing to let others in. I loved precocious Rose and Jasmine and Brittany’s lovable rescue dog Bogey. There were secondary characters like Brittany’s friend Heather and her ex-Max, who wasn’t a bad guy just not right for her that I would love to read more about in future books.
Merrillee Whren writes lovely faith and family oriented romances. This book is no exception. Parker has been hurt and betrayed by his oldest and dearest friends. Years later he has closed off his life and his heart. After losing her job, Brittany is at loose ends. Relying on her faith has never steered her wrong. The two little shining stars of this story stole my heart with their antics and charisma. I loved this sweet tale of love and forgiveness. This cozy romance will warm your heart.
*I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are uniquely my own.
A Match to Call Ours was an enjoyable story that highlighted the effect that bitterness can have on a person when they allow it to rule their hearts. Parker had been carrying around a lot of hurt for many years, allowing bitterness and unforgiveness to rule his heart. He was clearly a loving and nice man, evident in the way he cared for his twin daughters, but he had also turned his back on God. Parker had a lot of spiritual and emotional growing to do in this novel.
Brittany was just the person to help Parker let go of the hurt from the past and embrace a future of forgiveness. She learned to love this little family and the romance that bloomed between both of these characters was a sweet one to watch develop.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
A sweet story of redemption
A reclusive single father, adorable, identical twins, and a lonely woman combine to create a sweet romance with nods to Beauty and the Beast in A Match to Call Ours.
Parker was crushed when the people of the small town he lived in accused him of terrible things. Taking the twins who were now his daughters (though not by blood), he retreated to the ranch that had been in his family for generations and refused to set foot in town again. Harboring resentment and bitterness, he turned his back on the town and on God.
I enjoyed this lovely story of forgiveness.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Sweet clean romance with Brittney and Parker. She takes a job as a nanny to his two adopted daughters. He is closed off at his ranch from people who turned out not to be such good friends. He is a non believer but the more time he spends around Brittney and see how his girls react to her he starts to realize that he is missing something from his life. Brittney is praying for Parker but she knows she can never be with someone who is not a believer. This a sweet story and the twins really helped along the romance.
Interesting story with 2 adorable twin girls. Their sweetness and chatter will keep you reading.
Brittany was out of job and heartbroken, her friend Heather invited her on a trip with her family. I loved how Brittany always sort the face of God before making decisions and her patience with Parker. His friends and colleagues had hurt him deeply which made him isolate himself from everyone but meeting the delightful Brittany sparked hope and change in his heart.
This book winds around the stories that brought them together and changed their lives.
You’d find the themes of forgiveness run through the book.
I received a copy of the book and this is my honest opinion.
A nice story about a man with adopted twin daughters who hold bitterness in his heart when the people he thought were friends turned their back on him when unfounded rumors abounded. Once he hires his niece’s friend to be a nanny their relationship grows. But until he can let go of his anger, the woman he has come to love will not give him her full heart. This story shows how prayer and faith make a world of difference. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Forgiveness! A Match to Call Ours deals with forgiving people even when they have not asked for our forgiveness. Parker has been hurt, even by friends, and isolated himself and his adopted twin daughters. I admired how attentive Parker was to his daughters and other family members. Brittany is in need of a job but has not been happy substitute teaching. Brittany is captivated by the twins and accepts when Parker offers her a job as nanny but can’t accept how he isolates the girls and himself on the ranch. Brittany as well as the housekeeper believe in the power of prayer. You will enjoy A Match to Call Ours. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Brittany is having a run of bad luck, she lost her job and broke up with her boyfriend. Her room mate Heather invited her to go on a skiing trip with Heather’s family. Heather’s Uncle Parker usually rents a big house and pays all the expenses for the family to take this trip,
Parker has two little girls who turn out to be little matchmakers and so does Heather. It is a book that once you pick it up you really don’t want to put it down. The book has a lot of twists and turns and is a great read.
Ms. Whren always writes great books and this is another one to add to her list. Would recommend them.
