What good is a witch with no magic?I’m Lexi Balefire and I wear a lot of hats, but none of them are tall and pointy. I spend half my time making love matches that last forever, and the other half trying to keep my faerie godmothers from turning each other into toads. Or worse.I come from a long line of witches, some of them wicked, but none of that will matter if my magic doesn’t awaken before … will matter if my magic doesn’t awaken before midnight on my next birthday. If I miss that deadline, I’ll never be a true witch.
If my mother and grandmotherhadn’t used their magic to kill each other, one of them might have been able to give me the keys to the mystery and I’d be one step closer to claiming my Fate Weaver heritage.
Now, I guess I’ll have to figure it out on my own.

This book was fun to read because of the characters and story line.
Cute book, interesting characters. Enjoyable quick read.
I’ve read four books in the series. Each was well written and could stand alone. This is an interesting take on a coming of age story. It reminds me a bit of the Kathy cartoon strip with the main character a lovable mess. I will be on the lookout for other titles by this author.
This is a page-turner from the beginning! So much fun!
Enjoyed this book, fun to read
It started well, but I soon lost interest. I went back to it a couple of times to try and finish, but, for me, it just wasn’t worth the effort.
This one is just fun. Enough mystery to keep you reading but just fun.
So so storyline — predictable– ok for simple distraction
Did not care for this book
In all stories featuring witches that I remember reading, the character is already a witch so this story where she doesn’t have any powers and there is a deadline for her to get them, was a fresh take on the subject. It also has a nice cast of quirky relatives.
Loved this book. Wish the rest of the series was on Kindle Unlimited.
Early on, this book felt extremely uneven but the story hooked me. It got better and better and I hated to see it end. I was so glad it was not written to formula! One thing, when did it become okay to leave out the word “of”? It’s a perfectly fine word and I miss it terribly. Piece cake…piece of cake. Is this being taught now? If so, I’m really glad I retired! And while we’re on the subject of words – why does almost everybody begin sentences with the word “so?” Just wondering.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book and will be looking for others by these authors.
Loved it!
This is not my usual fare it was definitely whimsical and for those who believe in witches I am sure they would enjoy
too garbled could not finish
If you like an easy read but interesting this is a good read
Easy to read and lots of fun.
Highly recommend the series
I like stories with magic
This was a fun read, but a very predictable story line. When the big ‘AHA!’ moment came in the book, my reaction was more, ‘well, duh’. But fun characters, and an easy going read.
