A Perfect Match or a Perfect Mess?Katie Ruth Crewes has spent her life trying to be Good Hope’s good girl. Well, maybe not her whole life. After the scandal involving her parents made high school a nightmare it was only natural Katie Ruth would rebel. But those wild days are in the past and that’s where Katie Ruth intends to keep them. Now she’s devoted to her friends, her volunteer work, and … work, and recently to a handsome, young minister.
Pastor Dan Marshall knows a lot about many things, but he knows nothing about women. He was blindsided when his fiancée left him last year and he’s never known how to talk to his little sister, Oaklee, the family hellion. Then there’s Katie Ruth. To Dan, she is the ideal woman: smart, caring, and honest. He knows she’s his perfect partner, he just doesn’t know what to do about it. Katie Ruth does a lot for the church, and Dan can’t risk any impropriety—no matter how much he’s tempted….
When Oaklee suddenly appears on Dan’s doorstep, his well-ordered life receives a well-timed shake up. Perhaps his outrageous sister isn’t as different from him as he believes. She certainly has good advice when it comes to Katie Ruth, who Dan is falling more in love with every day. But Oaklee isn’t the only shock to hit Good Hope. When a secret from Katie Ruth’s past comes to light, she and Dan will have to decide how far they are willing to go to save their piece of paradise.

This was a sweet romance between Dan and Katie Ruth that had a fairly strong spiritual message.
There was an emphasis on love, trust, and forgiveness. You also get the same aspects, that keep bringing you back to Good Hope, of friendship and loyalty.
Both Dan and Katie Ruth had issues they needed to address and overcome. I liked that everyone was so welcoming and accepting of Dan’s sister Oaklee, even with all her quirkiness.
When Katie Ruth was avoiding calls, texts, and messages, I could tell something major was going on, but I did not think it would turn out to be what it was.
A strong faith based romance. It actually caused me to think more about the people in my life. The religious references are not over the top and it helps you to understand Katie Roth and Dan’s characters.
If you are looking for a sexy, steamy romance, or one filled with angst, or drama, this is not that book.

Dan is the First Christian Church Pastor who dated Lindsay in the previous book. Katie Ruth is the Youth Group Leader at the Church. Dan’s sister Oaklee leaves college and stays with Dan. He and Katie Ruth are the next couple to be put together by the Older Ladies of the community. Dan is invited to interview at a larger Church 4 hours from Good Hope, in the same city his parents live in. He wants Katie Ruth to go with him if he is offered the Associate Pastor position. We find some news about Katie Ruth’s past, Dan is upset that she didn’t tell him, when she didn’t even know about it. They have a falling out. They each pray about it and are pleased with their feelings about it. Dan turns down the new Church, He decides to stay in Good Hope. They talk about what the other did during their falling out, and become a couple again.
This is a clean romance, all they do is kiss. They talk about sex, but no one has any in this book. I love the Good Hope series, I hope she keeps it going.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another winner by Cindy Kirk!
I always think that there is no way the Good Hope stories can get any better. But they do! I absolutely love all of the characters in these books. Pastor Dan and Katie Ruth’s story shows how important it is to trust your soul mate. Without it – you have nothing. I connected to both of them and fell in love with them. Their story of forgiveness is refreshing and is a reminder that we all have a past but that certainly should not dictate our future. Pastor Dan’s little sister, Oaklee, is breath of fresh air. She made me smile from her first introduction into the story. I’m looking forward to reading her story in the future. It was so good that I had trouble putting it down! Can’t wait for the next one!

Another great book in the Good Hope series. In this one Pastor Dan is paired with Katie Ruth. We always knew her and the editor of the small online community newsletter, the Open Door. Now we see a more rounded Katie Ruth and she has a job at the Y and volunteers as the churches youth leader and is very involved in outreaches to help others. This is a Christian book.
Basically it centers on making mistakes while young, and asking for forgiveness later. Katie Ruth knows she had a couple of years in college that she would like to “do over”, but life doesn’t offer that so she asks God for forgiveness and dedicates her life to helping youth. When her transgressions are exposed, Pastor Dan has to come to grips as to how he is perceived as a pastor above reproach, and a man of God who loves a woman.

It’s finally Katie Ruth and Pastor Dan’s turn to find love and their HEA and I wasn’t sure how the Author would be able to make me connect to the romance of a Pastor…but I will say she succeeded. Katie Ruth and Dan have always been supporting characters in previous books but we finally get the chance to learn their stories and find out who they truly are in person. I felt their story was told from the standpoint of love and faith…how no matter where we are in life or how others see us we all still have room to grow.
I always look forward to returning to the town of Good Hope and it was so good catching up with beloved couples from past books! I really hope we get Oaklee’s story soon! I gave it 3.8 stars!!!
