A Thanksgiving rom-com with lots of food and interfering family! Advertising executive Nick Wong enjoys living in Toronto. He loves late nights partying and taking women back to his penthouse. And so it is with great reluctance that he returns to his boring hometown of Mosquito Bay for Thanksgiving. This year, however, is even worse than usual. His parents and grandparents, frustrated with the … parents and grandparents, frustrated with the lack of weddings in the family, have invited blind dates for him and his three siblings. Nick’s brother Greg has been set up with Lily Tseng, who just so happens to be Nick’s latest one-night stand, the one he can’t get out of his mind.
Although Nick has never been interested in settling down, Lily has him reconsidering. Perhaps he’s good for more than a single night of sex, dumplings, and bubble tea after all. But first, he has to get through this painful weekend with his family and convince her that she should be with him, not Greg…

I absolutely adored this story from this new-to-me author!
Lily & Nick were SO cute together. They clicked immediately. Their chemistry was strong, and perfect for what they were looking for and what they both wanted.
She’s a rule follower.
He’s a rule breaker.
She’s a good girl.
He’s a player.
But one thing they agreed on…one night.
DEAL.
This quick read gave me exactly what I was looking for. The humor was fun and entertaining and the steam level was delicious. Nick’s family was hilarious and I fell hard for them. I would love to hang with them for a Thanksgiving dinner.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I will definitely be reading more of this author’s work!
It’s just another night out for advertising exec Nick Wong. He truly loves his life in Toronto and the endless supply of late nights, women, and great restaurants. Just before heading back to his tiny, boring, hometown of Mosquito Bay, he hits his favorite spot Lychee. Imagine his surprise when a stunning stranger mutters something about a one-night stand. His specialty.
Lily Tseng is stuck in a rut, she’s boring, at least that’s what her boyfriend told her when he broke up with her. Bent on proving him wrong, she purchases a gorgeous red dress and makes plans to meet her friends at Lychee. While waiting for her friends, she starts muttering to herself about finding someone to have a one-night stand with. Imagine her shock when a voice interrupts her muttering. Sparks fly from the get-go, and the pair fairly fly out the door and to Nick’s place. The next morning after sharing some delicious food, the pair part, with neither expecting to see the other again. But fate has other plans.
When Nick’s parents and grandparents (read mom and grandma) take it into their own hands to set the kids up with dates (for Thanksgiving meal no less), guess who gets set up with Nick… No, not Lily, Lily gets set up with Nick’s brother Greg! After getting busted making out, the pair come clean and make plans for Nick to meet Lily’s family the next day.
So, what started out as yet another one-night stand for Nick, and a first one-night stand for Lily has now gone weird. They’re meeting family without dating, trying to figure out what’s going on, and what they each want. Can a one-night stand lead to more?
This was such a cute read, I started reading it late at night, and didn’t want to stop. As soon as I could, I got back to it to see where they ended up. It’s a good story, full of great characters, and wonderful writing. I highly recommend. This is a new to me author, and I can’t wait to read more.
A sweet (but with explicit sex scenes) story that is humorous and low in angst. They get together quickly and commit early, so it’s more the start of the relationship, but one can imagine the HEA.
I’m not a reviewer that rehashes the plot, if you’re reading the reviews you know what it’s about. I will tell you what I look for in a review, what I liked (and didn’t) about the book. For me, it wasn’t a total waste of time but I’d have rather been reading something else. I didn’t connect with the characters, they were fleshed out enough for me to relate or care about them. Their interactions weren’t engaging for me, we spent too much time hearing about how much he liked his “snazzy” life. It just didn’t hit any emotional strings for me. I’ll be passing on the rest of the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed Nick and Lily’s story. I love that Lily decides to make some changes in her life and just goes for it. I love that Nick is a good guy, even though he is a player. I love that they have a camaraderie in addition to fantastic chemistry. Nick’s family is a riot! I love the diversity of the characters and their struggles. Humor, heat, and romance: really, what is not to like? This was a quick holiday read set around Canadian Thanksgiving and I really want to try butter tarts now. It is written in third person from dual POV.
Pure fun!
I adored Lily and Nick – the meet-cute alone was… *chef’s kiss* – and if meddling were an Olympic sport, the Wongs sure would be strong contenders for gold!
Loved this holiday novella. Not sure why it’s been languishing on my TBR since last year but it was just the light hearted romantic comedy that I needed
Sweet. Romantic. Quirky.
All the fun stuff I enjoy in a romance.
What a delightful, holiday-themed novella!
I loved both Lily and Nick–as well as Nick’s entire nosy, interfering family. Still smarting from a breakup, Lily decides (using a list, of course!) to break out of her safe, predictable life by trying new things. First on her list? A one night stand–an attempt that goes very, very well for both parties.
Until they meet again–when Lily is his older brother’s blind date at his family’s Thanksgiving dinner…
It was so much fun watching Nick choose to go from the “playboy manwh*re” his own grandmother describes him as to a guy committed to Lily was a whole lot of fun. Their growing relationship was just as sweet as it was very, very hot.
I have no idea how Ms Lau managed to pack so much story into such a small package, but with this solid beginning I am so here for the rest of her Holidays with the Wongs series!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved everything about this book!
This lovely romance checked all my boxes. From their first meeting to their holiday dinners, Nick and Lily are just absolutely adorable together. Lily is sweet but self-aware, willing to risk her heart and live life to its fullest. Nick is terrific, strong and independent, but with enough sense to know when to just roll with it.
I loved how even when Nick thought they were moving too fast for his comfort, he still was the one pushing for more. The family scenes were priceless! After meeting Nick’s family, I’m definitely looking forward to reading more in this series. Lily’s family was refreshingly unpretentious and charming.
This was a delightful story, full of humor and family values, with a solid HEA and a tempting lead-in for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
