Carrie gets the shock of her life when the matchmaker she’s to interview turns out to be her long-lost husband. Journalist Carrie Fields is sent to a small village in Ireland to cover its annual matchmaking festival. It turns out the town’s elusive matchmaker is the man she married years ago in Boston in a youthful indiscretion that was both foolish and illegal. Initially, she ignores any of his … ignores any of his attempts to ‘catch up.’ But feelings she had thought were long dead soon resurface.
Mick Foley gets the surprise of his life when the woman who helped him stay in the US shows up on his doorstep. His one bitter regret in life is letting her go. He realizes he still loves her however he’s convinced he’s not husband material.
But some of the villagers soon take matters into their own hands, giving each one a shove in the right direction. It turns out Mick isn’t the only matchmaker in town.
A clean second chance romance.

When I saw this book at one of my favorite book review sites, I was drawn to it because it mostly takes place in Ireland, where the maternal side of my family comes from. The book is written in an easy, smooth style that pulls you right in. I did enjoy the fascinating matchmaking festival in the west of Ireland. It is certainly a throwback idea, given dating apps and websites these days. I enjoyed the book, but I do have one quibble. The hero and heroine are married at the start of the book, something that happened 10 years ago prior to the bulk of the book when they were both young. But the marriage has never been dissolved; he said he would come back yet didn’t. Despite this existing marriage, they both act as if they aren’t married: she’s even been living with a boyfriend long term, and his family and townspeople have been trying to match him up with women as if he didn’t have a wife. Her circumstance is certainly infidelity; it doesn’t matter whether you are estranged from your husband or not. The book is written in such an inviting way that my mind initially glossed over this fact, but then I was a bit disturbed by this when I gave it some thought.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is a clean second chance romance whose cast of characters are well developed and want to see Carrie and Mick make them a real couple. I had a great time following I there chance at forever after.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance set in the beautiful country of Ireland! The descriptions of the countryside as well as the wonderfully heart-warming townspeople planted a travel bug into my system! I loved how the matchmaker was being matched! Was it fate that brought Carrie to his country to interview him and allowed them to reconnect and reignite the love they had felt for each other so long ago when he had visited the U.S.? Or was it just the keen observation of the people in his life and in his beloved town with their genuine desire for Mick to be happy? Reading this is sure to make you feel good for a long time after you have finished it!

Book four in the Escape to Ireland series a well written story that held my interest until the end. This is Journalist Carrie Fields and Mick Foley the man she married years ago. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. It has a small town feel to it where everyone is there for you. The scene on the dance floor had me going poor Mick. Mick is an old fashion matchmaker for his village in Ireland. His gift is just something he inherited but it doesn’t work for his own love life. American news writer Carrie is asked to fill in and go to interview a matchmaker. She is shocked to learn she knows this man! This is a delightful story about two individuals who need to decide if they are a love match or not. I liked the characters especially the town who works at getting these two together.

An Irish matchmaker travels to America, falls in love and then leaves, never to return. Oh did I mention he married his love while he was in America?
Will he ever return to her? Will she forgive him? Will they be able to reconcile and have a HEA?
An enjoyable story line set in a beautiful location of Ireland. I definitely recommend this book!

What a fun, whimsical tale of an Irish matchmaker named Mick Foley, who had traveled to America and fallen in love. Unfortunately he left when his mother died and he never returned, although he said he would be back. I really liked the Irish town and all of it cute Matchmaking Festival activities. It was also nice to see the town people and fate intervene in the matchmaker’s love life.
It was extremely interesting to see how Carrie Fields already knew Mick and how fate intervened so she had to interview him for the paper she worked for because her colleague had a heart attack and could not make the trip to Ireland. This story may make you want to take your own trip to Ireland. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I would love to work at job where they would send me to Ireland for two weeks. I couldn’t do Carrie’s job as a crime reporter, too gruesome, but I love the human interest stories. I liked the idea of a matchmaker and a male one is a neat twist on tradition. Mick has almost paranormal powers the way he can look at people and know if they were a match for each other. But he wasn’t so good with relationships running back to Ireland after his mother died and not contacting his wife Carrie since. He technically could have gotten an annulment. I loved hearing about Kilcornan, its colorful townspeople, the festival and all its fun couples’s activities, and other places to visit in Ireland. This book made me want to plan a trip there.
I love the idea of finding a soulmate:) That there is someone out there to complete you and be your other half:) That’s the job of a matchmaker. Mick is a matchmaker in Ireland, who doesn’t have a match…or does he? He and Carrie married 10 years ago on a whim. Then he left her abruptly when his mother died. Will he ever keep his promise to return to her in America? Will they move on with their lives? Will they reconcile? Can they ever get together again? Find out in this beautiful story about matchmaking festivals, games, dancing, and romance in the air:) I highly recommend this book. Happy Reading!

This is my first book in this series and my first book from this author. A lovely, sweet, engaging and fun, second chance romance. I adored this book with it’s amazing characters, wonderful setting, and enchanting moments. I look forward to more from this author.

Carrie Fields was a journalist asked by her boss to cover for another on a story about the Annual Matchmaker Festival in Ireland. Carrie was excited at the opportunity – at least until she found out who she would be interviewing! Mick Foley, the matchmaker, was a man she had married a decade ago so he could remain in the U.S. When he disappeared shortly after, he never came back.
Carrie doesn’t want to start things up again with him. But those old feelings come back in full force. And the townspeople gladly lend a helping hand to rekindle their love. Will Carrie and Mick fall in love all over again? Can they make it work if given a second chance? Or will they let their insecurities hold them back?
The story line was good, the character work was great and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was a quick, fun read which kept me entertained from beginning to end.

I have read all the stories in this series, but this is the best one so far. Two young people marry to allow him to stay in the country. Then life throws them a curve ball and they are separated for ten years. This is the story of their reunion and all the things that they left unsaid. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have. I received an advanced reader’s copy on Monday morning and was there fourth of the way through it before I went to bed that night. I finished it as soon as I got up. if I could have managed to stay awake, I would have finished it that night. I was so hooked on this story.
Ten years ago Carrie married Mitch in order for him to stay in America but within a few weeks he left when his mother passed away telling her he would be back but he never called or returned. She works for a newspaper and her boss send her to Ireland where a matchmaker celebration is held each year and Mitch is in charge of the festival and also the area matchmaker. This is not only interesting and entertaining but also keeps you rooting for Carrie and Mitch to rekindle their relationship even when they both think they need to put a end to their marriage.
