An inept sheriff who can’t shoot, ride or spit worth a damn…Facing the bankruptcy of the family business, J. Barrett Callan accepts his great-great grandfather’s offer to exchange places in time in hopes he can change his future by fixing the past. But if anything, his troubles compound when he ends up in the mining town of Margin, Colorado as an inept sheriff who can’t shoot, ride or spit … can’t shoot, ride or spit worth a damn.
There he encounters a “spinster” who serves as the local schoolmarm because the townspeople would never accept her as the doctor she’s trained to be. Will they be able to find a love while working together to keep Margin safe from rampaging miners, crooked investors and a boozy visitor from the future far beyond the 21st century?
If you love Doctor Who, Quantum Leap and the Back to the Future trilogy, you’ll love A Margin in Time.

“Like the delightful TV series, Quantum Leap, A Margin in Time places a modern man in a perplexing situation and as we sit back and watch the fireworks, the love and laughter unfurl…Combining concepts culled from the finest in fantasy (from Star Trek to Back to the Future and H.G. Wells) she brings readers a true gem of a tale.”

I am a sucker for a time travel romance, and this was a very enjoyable story. I have the Nook e-book. I will not spoil the ending, but there were some surprises along the way, and it was an easy read with a great ending. There were some serious, scary, and comical parts to this story.
I liked the time travel aspect and the differences between the characters
I read time travel books. This was fun and light hearted wth a bit of drama. Enjoyed reading.
Great read. Didn’t want to put it down once I got in to it.
I’m not usually interested in books set in the American west but this one drew me in. The characters are interesting and story is original. Also, it has the bonus of being well-written and well-edited.
This was a little thought provoking, to think about time travel to life without cellphones, and modern conveniences. Interesting. I must say the heroine was accepting of him being a time traveler very quickly. Good story overall. I found it hard to put down.
I love time travel romance. The addition of humorous characters and laugh out loud funny scenes make this a real page turner.
This book is what I consider a “comfortable read.” The characters are worth knowing and are realistic. The story line is great–switching places in time with one’s own great-grandfather. Talk about walking in another man’s shoes! The ending is terrific–I didn’t think it would turn out as well as it did!
A different take on time-travel with a good story.
This book was very enjoyable. It was a fresh concept to actually know they did travel and had a somewhat heads up about the surroundings.
Enjoy western settlement
Imagine this could happen!
Great time travel novel with an unusual ending. Very enjoyable!
Good Reading
I really liked this story and got the second one in the series.
While you know when you start it, that good overcomes evil and the guy & the girl live happily ever after, it was a delightful read to see how it happens.
Was different from any time travel book I’ve read. Really enjoyed reading it with its twists and turns in solving the problems of the old west and falling in love.
This was fun!
Interesting premise, time travel in a different way, I enjoyed the story
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
