A MARCH OF KINGS takes us one step further on Thor’s epic journey into manhood, as he begins to realize more about who he is, what his powers are, and as he embarks to become a warrior.
After he escapes from the dungeon, Thor is horrified to learn of another assassination attempt on King MacGil. When MacGil dies, the kingdom is set into turmoil. As everyone vies for the throne, King’s Court is more rife than ever with its family dramas, power struggles, ambitions, jealousy, violence and betrayal. An heir must be chosen from among the children, and the ancient Dynasty Sword, the source of all their power, will have a chance to be wielded by someone new. But all this might be upended: the murder weapon is recovered, and the noose tightens on finding the assassin. Simultaneously, the MacGils face a new threat by the McClouds, who are set to attack again from within the Ring.
Thor fights to win back Gwendolyn’s love, but there may not be time: he is told to pack up, to prepare with his brothers in arms for The Hundred, a hundred grueling days of hell that all Legion members must survive. The Legion will have to cross the Canyon, beyond the protection of the Ring, into the Wilds, and set sail across the Tartuvian Sea for the Isle of Mist, said to be patrolled by a dragon, for their initiation into manhood.
Will they make it back? Will the Ring survive in their absence? And will Thor finally learn the secret of his destiny?
With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A MARCH OF KINGS is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

Not much, if any improvement from book 1 to book 2. The writing is horrible and the storytelling is just marginally okay. The story is intriguing and interesting, but that’s about as far as it goes. I don’t know if I will read more of the series, or how far I will go in it, but I do want to give it a chance. Also, my nature to stick with a story, …
I love her books, but did she lose her editer or rush this one? A batalion of ships?! ah no, a squadron or a fleet. table of honour?! High table or place of honour (RHS of host) some looseness at the feast for Erec. I think she is a fantastic author, I just used to think she was perfect. How have the mighty fallen…Tell it not in Gath…
I believe it needed a good editor. Some of the descriptions felt like the author was being paid by the word. They seemed like verbal showing off as to the imaginative ways the author could describe things. That was my criticism of the book which is why I gave it a 4 star rating, but could not see my way to giving it 5.
Love the story and author however the story just keeps going so you need to continuously keep buying and reading to get to the end.
I enjoyed this series, waiting for more books as it is a continuation.
Read it 6 years ago and remember liking it, but not all the details. I do think the series was drawn out…too many books and under 200 pages….to make you buy them.
it left me hanging
The third in a series and I have enjoyed them all! Fantasy, but not all. Great escape!
Found ‘this interesting. Nice character building and story line. I read several in this series and enjoyed them all. Kept my interest in how the main characters developed and grew.
Weak characterizations; author seems to have trouble selecting the best word for the meaning she’s trying to convey. Secondary characters are inconsistent.
I enjoyed it.
A continuation of the series, which I like. A good read.
Great book. Characters draw you in. Can’t wait to read the next book!
a good read
It is a great series
Enjoyed the whole series
The first few books in the series were captivating. However, as continuing books were published, the story line started to drag on and on and on…
The guy doesn’t know how to write Englis. He doesn’t know grammar and uses words that don’t mean what he thinks. He is ignorant. Not a pejorative, only a literal fact.
fun read, a fast light read that leaves you looking for the next book.
