The first time somebody tried to kill him was an accident. The second time was deliberate. Now Paul Mulchrone finds himself on the run with nobody to turn to except a nurse who has read one-too-many crime novels and a renegade copper with a penchant for violence. Together they must solve one of the most notorious crimes in Irish history . . . . . . or else they’ll be history. A Man With One of … history.
A Man With One of Those Faces is the first book in Caimh McDonnell’s Dublin Trilogy, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit.

I enjoyed it so much that I read the other two and have now purchased all four of them. He writes with a deft touch in a very descriptive manner. A delightful read and the rest of the series is just as wonderful. Worth reading again and again.
This is the first book by Caimh McDonnell I have read, but I will certainly read more. This book had laugh out loud humor and the characters were people you would want to meet.
A wonderful new voice. Beats the early Stephanie Plum novels, that I loved. The dialogue is reminiscent of Bruce Willis/Cybil Sheppard Moonlighting banter.
Laugh out loud funny. Interesting characters.
I can’t pretend to be able to pronounce the author’s name, but he’s going to the top of my ‘want-to-read’ list. This is an outstandingly funny crime novel with great characters, lines and a plot that crackles along. Sample description of a particularly vile flatulence episode: ‘it smelled like something had crawled up his arse and died of cabbage’. Glorious!
Another great book from Caimh McDonnell. He’s the first author, in a very long time, that can make me laugh out loud. His characters are interesting, sympathetic, and realistic. The mystery seems a bit straight-forward at the start but there are a few surprises which only make more enjoyable. I’m eagerly looking forward to the his next book.
Tedious. Couldn’t finish.
I can’t wait to read the next book! This book grabbed me from the very first page. I am hooked.
Really enjoyed this book. had everything I
enjoy in a book. read the next one also. not quite as good but worth the time and money.
One of the best I have found in awhile. Looking forward to the next in line.
Everything I want in a book, great characters, plot, story, ending.
There was a fair amount of the “F” word, which I could have done without. Other than that, I loved it.
Started off interesting but quickly got bogged down with too many characters to remember in an unlikely plot. I quit halfway through.
Witty and fun while still suspenseful. Loved all the Irish words and Dublin locations.
