It’s easy to recognize another’s pain. The tough part is facing your own. When Dorothy Thompson returns to Cherish, SC, to play piano for her brother’s wedding, memories and fear nearly paralyzes her fingers. If anyone she knew back in high school discovers her secret, the whispers will start. Fake. Fraud. Failure. It’s not as if she can blame God for her troubles. No, she did that all by herself. … her troubles. No, she did that all by herself. But, remembering His lessons, she’s fighting to get back on track. All she can do is pray the wedding vocalist—her brother’s friend Ryan, a rising opera star—won’t notice the way her hands shake.
When Ryan Edwards sets foot inside a church for the first time in years, he’s no longer the pitiable kid from the poor side of town, but someone who’s made it on his own. Without God’s help—not that He ever cared about misfits like Ryan, anyway.
When he lays eyes on Dorothy—all grown up, more beautiful than ever, and clearly hiding something—he almost forgets why he left Cherish. Almost. But while his heart yearns to call the tune, he can’t forget his hard-earned career comes first…and his old friend’s little sister is off limits.

Sweet Christian romance,Ryan and Dorothy are childhood friends reunited one weekend for a wedding. Both are aspiring and upcoming g musicians, the small town they grew up in May also I spite a love connection between them.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story revolves around Dororthy Thompson coming back to Cherish, NC after a long time, and is currently in opiate withdrawal. It gives the reader a very good look at what it is like to try to go on with your life while in pain and active withdrawal, and how Dorothy felt about God going through this ordeal. It also highlights how a good Spirit filled group of support people can really help. In every situation there is a purpose. In every setback, in every struggle. I feel this book is a must read for everyone as the issues really do touch every family.
This is the audiobook is a clean, Christian, romance about two individuals whose lives have been changed by circumstances.
Dorothy Thompson’s pianist career changed when she developed carpal tunnel and got addicted to opioids. She returns home to recover as well as to perform in her brother’s wedding. Never expecting to come across the boy she loved in her youth, Ryan Edwards.
Ryan is now an opera singer, in town to sing at Dorothy’s brother wedding before going to Italy to audition for the roll of a lifetime.
But fate, God, and circumstances change their futures. Will Ryan find God again with Dorothy’s help? Will their attraction as teenagers become more as adults? Will Ryan leave town searching for fame and Dorothy stay home?
As with most novellas, the characters and the plot are not fully developed . That said, it did not take away from the story. Finding faith, second chances in life and love, and new beginnings.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I have enjoyed all of the Cherish Series by Josie Riviera (I listened out of order)… but that was still ok as they can be stand alone reads. This was a sweet and fun story of finally ending up with who you belonged with all along. It is seeing God and how He can work things out on your behalf even when you aren’t seeing it. It is about finding your purpose and going for it… regardless of how foolish that may look to others. I recommend not only this book, but the series.
The narrator has done a good job with this and draws you into the story.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, however, I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Lovely story to listen to. Get lost in visions the reader paints as she reads.
This is a sweet second chance love story. 2 people coming back together at a wedding each overcoming a difficulty they have.
A Love Song to Cherish: A Sweet and Wholesome Christian Novella: Cherish Series, Book One was a great read by Josie Riviera. Dorothy returned to her hometown to play piano for her brother’s wedding. Ryan left many years ago and worked hard to make it on his own. When he sees Dorothy again, he knows that she is hiding something. I loved Ryan and Dorothy’s story and can’t wait to read more by Josie Riviera.

Dorothy who is a pianist returns to Cherish to play for her brothers wedding. Ryan who is her brothers friend and also a now famous opera singer also returns to sing in the wedding. While Ryan has had success in his life Dorothy has not and now after surgery she has become addicted to pain pills. While she is trying to get her life back and with Gods help she is determined to make it. Ryan has never had a connection to God and he feels like why would God help the kid from the wrong side of the tracks. This is a second chance romance but also centers on some of todays problems and with Gods help we can be victorious.

I loved the strength of the main character, Dorothy Thompson, in A Love Song to Cherish. Her return to her hometown of Cherish to play piano for her brother’s wedding was not easy in light of her failure as a concert pianist and her recent addiction to opiates. She worked hard to keep her focus on trusting God to have a perfect plan for her.
Her re-connection with best friend, Ryan Edwards, was sweet. Ryan’s internal struggles about his own purpose in life make him a likable and realistic character. I liked the fact that Dorothy never preached at Ryan to get him to come back to church or return to a faith in God. She was just a friend and challenged him to find his purpose.
This is a sweet, inspirational romance revolving around two long-time friends with a common love for music.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily chose to leave an honest review.
The book is a good sweet romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable clean romance read.

A Love Song to Cherish
Loved it. Dorothy’s faith in God and her amazing support people carried her through her addiction. Ryan lost his faith when his father died. Can he find his purpose and faith in God again. Neither wanted to return to the small town they were from. Best friends as children, do they have a chance for an HEA. Buy this one and enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
A Love Song To Cherish – Dorothy and Ryan reconnect after many years. There is more than friendship now between them – or they want it to be. Will they be able to move past their secrets and turn once again to the Lord? A really sweet romance with some real life issues.
This is such a sweet uplifting book. A wonderful book about second chances and how everything works out according to God’s plan. Thank you Josie Riviera via NetGalley for the free copy. This is my honest opinion.
Dorothy Thompson and Ryan Edwards were friends growing up bonded together by their mutual love of music. But Ryan went away to study opera and left Dorothy behind. Now they are both back in Cherish, South Carolina she to play the piano and he to sing at her brother’s wedding. Dorothy’s dreams as a professional pianist crashed and burned when she got carpel tunnel and became addicted to prescription pain medication. Meanwhile Ryan’s dreams have been soaring high with operatic successes all over the world. Why would he want to give that up to be with a washed up pianist in a small town running an old music store? This was a sweet clean second chance romance and I loved reading about all that goes into, the struggles too, being professional musicians.
A Love Song to Cherish by Josie Riviera
Starts out with Dorothy and she had not wanted to come back home ever again. Nothing worked out-her boyfriend found another and she was once alone again.
She is in withdrawal from opiods and the symptoms could last a few years…
She’s heavily into music, especially at churches. Health issues kept her from playing her musical instruemnt.
She’s only back in her hometown for her brother…his wedding to Alice and they wanted her to play. Ryan (a nerd) will be the singer…she’d not seen him for years when she left to find fame and fortune.
Ryan is accomplished worldwide. He’s not found a reason to go back to church but recalls the feeling it left him with.
What I like about his book are the unpredictable scenes, caring and such inspirational support. Love how their secrets came out with no judgment.
Note from the author, recipe and other works from the author and about the author are highlighted at the end and acknowledgements.
Excerpt from A Christmas to Cherish is also included.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Josie Riviera writes wonderful stories. They are clean and inspiring.
In this one Dorothy goes home for her brother’s wedding to play the piano for him. Ryan also comes home but is waiting on news about an audition in Italy. They once were good friends. Can they be friends again? I won’t spoil it but you really need to get the book and find out.
I received the book as a gift. I am giving an honest review of it.
I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255
Dorothy and Ryan were high school friends and meet again when asked to perform at the wedding of Dorothy’s brother. Dorothy is a great protagonist who planned to be a concert pianist until having to deal with carpal tunnel pain and ending up addicted to pain meds. Dorothy has worked hard to overcome her addiction and to depend on God instead. Ryan had a difficult childhood and is now an opera singer in Italy who has left God out of his life. Dorothy and Ryan renew their old friendship. A Love Song to Cherish is an interesting novella with the goom making all the wedding plans. I received a complimentary e-book. This is my honest opinion.
