Annie and Tyler are one of my favourite couples now. The way we’ve been allowed to watch them grow, has been a great journey so far. I can’t wait to dive in to the next book and see what’s in store for their next chapter.
OMG, I love this series! I love all of the characters in this series, but especially Tyler and Annie. The author makes her books so believable, and I love her storytelling, and just how she writes overall. If I could give this series more than 5 stars, I definitely would! If you love a lot of angst and crazy chemistry, you have to read this series. I can’t wait to read book 3 next month!
Piper Lawson continues her hot streak for me! I love this story so much and can’t wait for the final book. The characters are so relatable, the connection between Annie and Tyler is so incredibly believable, and more than that I love that they’ve each got their own thing going on, their own dreams they’re pursuing and it’s not all just about each other. I really can’t wait until the final book in the trilogy is out next month… I know Tyler and Annie will get their HEA, but I can’t wait to see the road that leads them there!
I LOVED this book!!! These two have so much angst and passion, so much love, and I seriously cannot get enough of these two!
Picking up shortly after the first book left off, Annie and Tyler are now in college, and all the feelings they thought they burried comes roaring back. They are both older, a little more jaded and guarded, but the push and pull between them is so incredible.
Annie has grown up quite a bit since Tyler walked away from her, and refuses to let him back into her heart. She’s been down that road before, and all it led to was heartbreak. But when someone is so ingrained in your heart and soul, you can’t fight fate, and that’s what Tyler and Annie are — fated in every since of the word.
It tore Tyler apart to walk away from Annie, and even though he misses the girl that she used to be, he loves the woman she’s grown into. When they begin to work together for an end of the year showcase, Tyler can’t help but realize that she is the other half of him, and will stop at nothing to make her his, regardless of the consequences.
I love the connection that these two have, and their sexual tension is just out of this world! But beyond that, they really are each other’s person, and I loved how genuine their love is.
But beware.. There is a hell of a cliffhanger that I didn’t see coming at all that had me screaming at my kindle and begging for Piper to give me the third book asap. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the wait for their last book is going to be painful!
I’m absolutely captivated by this brilliant world our author transports us info, and I can’t why enough of it! We had some new characters that were introduced as well that were absolutely amazing! I can’t recommend this book enough!!
**Remember that this is book two in the series, and the first book must be read first!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
The rebellion has only just started
Do you ever read a book and critique the characters? Critique is the wrong word. I mean yell at them repeatedly (whether out loud or in your head) to not do something. Or want to smack sense into them becauze your spidey senses work fine and they act like the sorority chick at the beginning of a horror movie? No!?! Its just me?! I find that hard to believe.
A Love Song for Rebels will have you converted. I promise you. You will feel it. You will love it but most of all, you will be shouting like me.
Life is a bunch of moments strung together. Too many of them we forget, ignore, or are calllus to their fragility. A Love Song for Rebels proves that our choices can make fragile moments shatter. The one that got away can be gotten again. It’s a choice. And choices have consequences whether good or bad…
If book 3 weren’t already waiting on my kindle, I would be staging a revolt, rebellion, or starting a petition (possibly all three). Good thing I came late to the party!
Amazing Story that will keep you on your toes until the end and then wanting more
Oh my gosh! I seriously love this series! Annie and Tyler’s story continues in epic fashion. You will be sucked in with the angst and sweet moments. They may be closer to their HEA but there are still many mountains to climb. It ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you needing more immediately. Can’t wait for the conclusion. I have a feeling it will be a hell of a ride!
This is the second book in the series and book one needs to be read first.
Tyler Adams is attending Vanier with hopes of securing a contract after he lost his first one after a family emergency had him leave town unexpectedly. Now he is determined to focus on his music and not let anything get in his way, until he sees her.
Annie Jamieson is secretly attending Vanier while her dad and step-mom believe that she is attending Columbia. Her dad is a famous rock musician and he doesn’t want Annie anywhere near the business, no matter if that is where her dreams are leading her.
When Annie and Tyler come face to face again they must deal with the past but also the present. Tyler realizes the secrets Annie is hiding from her family and he is worried that he will get caught in the middle and lose everything again.
Is love worth everything and can you find your own dreams when no one else wants you to achieve them?
This is an awesome second book and I am really starting to have some strong feelings of hate towards certain characters and love towards others. This book really brought us a bunch of new characters and they all blended in so well although my opinions on a few definitely changed!
In this book Tyler makes up for the mistakes he made in the first book. That being said I couldn’t entirely blame him in the first book as he pretty much had to leave or lose everything. I liked how hard he was working to re-establish himself but I hated how he lost his initial chance and never told anyone why he had to leave. I liked that he also wanted Annie to succeed and was helping her as much as he could.
I thought Annie was a great character and she had the guts to go against what her dad wanted for her and chose to follow her own dream. I hated that she felt she had to lie to her parents but I also saw that every time she brought up Vanier he would shoot her down, yet it was ok for Tyler.
I always knew how much chemistry was between Annie and Tyler and this gave them each a chance to explore it on their own without any extra pressures. I liked how they both wanted the other to succeed and were willing to give/share the spotlight if they needed to.
I really liked Annie’s continual friendship with Pen and then her new friendship with Elle and the interesting one she had with her roommate Rae. Initially I really liked Tyler’s roommate Beck but then he made me angry!
At a certain point everything explodes and I was so angry with Jax and how he handled everything and the influence he had over a certain person’s career. It made me so angry but I was grateful for California and the words that were spoken! I liked how both Tyler and Annie really supported each other and the things that happened for them with Annie having a surprise from Ms. Talbot.
The end seriously broke me and I was shocked that the book ended that way!! Now I really need the next book to repair my heart!

This is the second book in the A Love Song for Rivals Trilogy Series. This book is even better than the first book in the series. A real page turner that is full of emotion, angst and drama. This is Annie and Tyler’s story which originally began in the first book when they were in high school but now they’re in college. Reunited they find that the passion and attraction is still there. But life continues to throw up road blocks. No spoiler here, but this is a great book that you will enjoy. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Love Song for Rebels after reading the first book in the series, and Piper Lawson did not disappoint!
I thought the first book was filled with emotion, but the second book was even more emotional. Annie hasn’t seen Tyler in a long time, but she knows there is probably a chance she will see him at Vanier. She isn’t wrong. It isn’t long at all that these two run into each other. It almost seems like fate since Annie’s mentor is no other than Tyler’s roommate. The feelings are still there for both of them.
“She’s memories and dreams, gold and glory, and parts of me that were dead five minutes ago suddenly ache.”
What I liked about this book is the two of them have matured so much. In the beginning, Annie is resentful of him and still hurt, and Tyler realizes as soon as he sees her the mistake he made in leaving her. He means to get her back. Of course, the angst is the two of them finding their way back to one another, but it doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the story.
I love when characters change throughout the storyline, and boy have Tyler and Annie changed. She isn’t the naive girl he left, and Tyler has grown into a man. Both have clear goals they want to achieve, and they are working together to achieve them. There are some bumps in the road, but they seem to navigate them. Annie still hasn’t let her father know she is at Vanier instead of Columbia. Some secrets are revealed, and Annie finds some friends that really appreciate her for her not who her dad is. I will warn you…there is quite a heart-wrenching cliffhanger at the end. But, I’m a lover of cliffhangers!!!!
I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!!! I love Annie and Tyler, and I can’t wait to see where their road to happiness leads!!!!
Part 2 doesn’t disappoint. Annie and Tyler’s story continues with the ups and downs and sacrifices. Annie’s out on her own in a new city with a secret. Can she keep it or will it all come crashing down? How will Jax handle the secret? Can Tyler and Annie’s love make it thru? What will happen the unthinkable end? Piper Lawson has done it again! This book will bring you in from the beginning and when it end you will be left slack jawed and dying for the next book.
You must read book 1 before reading this one.
This book is an emotional roller coaster ride. Annie and Tyler have always been perfect for one another, but it took them a long time, many mistakes and heartbreak to figure it out for themselves. I loved this book; the characters, the storyline, just simply everything about it. Seeing how far Annie and Tyler will go for the other one was a beautiful thing.
I highly recommend Annie and Tyler’s story to everyone.
°My emotional investment in this series is locked in! °
I have no words for the emotions that author Piper Lawson held over me as I read the second book in Annie and Tyler’s trilogy, so I’ll tell you here, it is imperative that you have read the first one, Love Song For Liars.
Jax is still using his clout to influence Annie and Tyler’s future’s, because, I think, he believes his mistakes will be theirs, and that full story is yet to come to light. What Ms Lawson has given us is heart-breaking, and while I still don’t like his over controlling and manipulative character as a parent, I have questions. Yep, I definitely have questions. I’m thinking I’ll have to check out his and Haley’s story, maybe that will endear him to me!
I also don’t think he counted on her talent, tenacity and abject love for Tyler to circumvent his influence. I loved Annie and she has most certainly changed since ‘Liars’, into an even better and stronger version of herself. Bravo, her character development was amazing. I could wax lyrical for hours about her.
For those who are surprised to read in the blurb, that Tyler is also at Vanier, then you will also be gutted at the curveball life threw him. But Annie and I loved this more mature version of him, and my heart broke along with his as he realised just how deeply hurt she was at his disappearance.
This middle book of their trilogy embedded the emotional investment that I have in this series. It is obvious that Piper Lawson loves these characters, and is pouring her whole heart into the intensity of the feelings of Annie and Tyler. Hell’s teeth, the passion that comes through these guys as they describe the love they have for each other, and the need to write music is palpable! The chemistry between them is so strong, it’s almost a character unto itself. I am highly anticipating A Love Song For Dreamers. Both books in this trilogy so far are highly recommended 5 Star reads
Characterizations Are All Fantastic! – 5 Stars
Part Two of this Three-Part series was every bit as scintillating and captivating as book one. This was a good story, believable, original material. The characterizations are all fantastic; there is much growth and maturation on the part of both the main male and the main female characters. The balance of the characters in this large ensemble cast are also well done and each character is easily identifiable and unique. Excellent cliff hanger! Let’s hope the final book of this trilogy comes out real soon … please and thank you Ms. Lawson!!
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel from the author and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
I have loved Annie and Taylor since I first got a sneak peak at them in the Wicked series. Now with their own books…I have fallen more in love with them.
You must read the first book ALSFL before this one to follow the story. Being the 2nd book it just gets better and better. All the feels with this one and when you think you know what will happen, Piper has a good way to fool you.
Lets just say that I had a hard time getting to sleep when I finished this one. I am DYING to get the next one because I need more of these 2 in my life!!
A Love Song for Rebels is the 2nd book in the Rivals trilogy and is an angsty NA romance that will hold your interest from beginning to end. Filled with tension, drama and alot of push and pull, you will be engrossed in Annie and Tyler’s story and will enjoy seeing the change in their relationship dynamic and the character development. This story will take you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions and give you all the feels. The cliffhanger ending will leave you yearning for book 3 to find out how it all ends. I enjoyed this novel, it was well-written and flowed smoothly and would recommend it to all lovers of NA romance.
After A Love Song for Liars cliffhanger had loyal readers yearning for the next piece of Annie and Tyler’s story, Piper Lawson brings in all those amazing feels that you’d expect, right from chapter one. I couldn’t help becoming totally engrossed, finishing this 2nd book in the Rivals trilogy in one heart pounding evening. Those last chapters were floating around in my head as I tried to sleep… so..so..sooooo good, but I can’t tell you why!!! Let’s just say that this author knows how to leave you with an unexpected ending, for now at least. These books are not meant to standalone, so make sure to start at the beginning so you can thoroughly enjoy every perfect moment of two of the three ‘Love Songs’ available so far.
In A Love Song for Rebels, Annie is moving on from emotional devastation, sadness and loss, concentrating on finding herself and what she’s really made of. Deciding to walk an uncharted path that is hers alone and then own it completely is the goal now. Her heart’s been battered, but what doesn’t break you makes you stronger, right?
Then, there’s Tyler who could possibly melt a 200 year old stream of hardened lava all over again. It seems the beautiful boy has become a gorgeous man, but still embodies that certain indescribable ‘something’ that people, male or female, can’t look away from.
The introduction of unique, quirky characters brings new friendships into this creative environment Annie finds herself embracing but also challenged by. There’s more than a few of those in her chosen new life right now…challenges, that is and crossing paths again was never supposed to be one of them.
This book knocked me for a loop, feeling like a rock and roll fairytale at times, leaving me an emotional wreck in others. So many touching moments to savor, so I was bookmarking the hell out of my many favorites as I read along!
Annie is such a sweet, wonderful, loveable character that you can’t help admiring her spunky independence, kindness and giving nature. Tyler has grown into a swoony, magnetic combination of super sexy, strong, tender and beyond talented man. He has it all. Now the question that keeps running on a loop through my romance loving mind.. what magic could they make together, if given the chance???
If you were dying for more at the end of A Love Song for Liars like I was, charge up those kindles, mark your calendars and prepare to be wowed when this book releases. I’m already missing Annie and Tyler but waiting to see them again in this trilogy’s conclusion- Love Song for Dreamers, will feel like forever!
If these books haven’t made it onto your TBR yet, make it happen, I loved them! If you are new to this series and looking for something else by Piper that’s totally bingeworthy, you can go back in time to her Wicked series to meet Annie’s sexy rockstar dad!
I received an early, complimentary version of this book and you’ve just read my honest review of it.
In media res.
We are at book two and it’s the book with growth, Tyler and Annie have moved on, they are both at Vanier. But things are complicated with an extra helping of the feels and angst.
I’m committed and can’t wait for book 3.
Gotta see how this all plays out.
Recommend.
And once again my heart is full yet aching from all the angst and push and pull and I truly cannot get enough from these characters.
I’ve been reading this book slowly, pacing myself. Savoring every word and emotion from Annie and Tyler. As usual, I’ve highlighted so much of this book. So many amazing thoughts and quotes that give you insight into who Annie and Tyler are.
I knew there’d be angst. I knew there’d be chemistry. I didn’t expect Beck, who I absolutely adored! He was a major catalyst for Annie and Tyler to work out their issues.
I don’t want to give anything away but I’ll say that the chemistry is explosive and hearts were splayed wide open. This book had me flying high and elated, thinking “YES!!!”, and then ending with a monster cliffhanger that’s left me devastated but clinging to hope!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
