She thinks of him as a friend. He’s loved her since high school.
She’s holding on to the past. He’s worked hard to overcome his.
Brooks knew better than to fall in love with Jaclyn. She’s a trust fund kid, and he’s from the wrong side of the tracks. Guys like him never end up with girls like her. His head understood the rules. His heart was another story.
A well developed and wonderfully written story. The characters are amazing, and the continuity is great. This is a second chance and a bff to lover genre. I really enjoyed it with its twist and turns. I highly recommend it and Delaney Cameron books.
Brooks has been in love with Jaclyn since high school. She was his only friend even if she was a trust fund kid and his father was in prison. When they meet again, can Brook finally have her heart or will they remain friends? a sweet love story and great audiobook.
This was a sweet story!
I enjoyed this clean, girl next door, high school sweethearts type story. It is my first time reading a book by Delaney Cameron, and I liked her writing style . It is the third book in her Billionaires of Sawgrass series, but I had no trouble understanding the storyline; so, it can be read as a standalone.
Both Jaclyn and Brooks were well laid out characters, and their thought processes were realistic and appropriately fit the situation. I liked Jaclyn’s loyalty and her heart for helping others. She sounds a lot like someone I know. Brooks, I think was a bit more complex, he resembles the strong silent/shy type personality, yet get him around Jaclyn and he becomes a social butterfly. I enjoyed their interactions together, and their characters in general, they were very relatable.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the cute storyline, girl next door style, and the great environmental descriptions.

Well, I fell in love with this story wholeheartedly! This was the first novel that I have read by this author, but now I plan to definitely read more. Even though this is the third book in the series, I had no trouble jumping right in and understanding the story.
I absolutely loved that Brooks has been in love with Jaclyn since they met in high school. He was afraid to ruin their friendship back then by letting her know about his feelings and now that they have reconnected, he continues to keep his love hidden because her heart still yearns for her deceased fiance’.
It was so touching to watch how their friendship and connection jumped right back into being so important to both of them. Then, when love between them became a real possibility, the author handled it in a way that I felt was very accurate. Jaclyn had these new feelings for Brooks and yet he was still her best friend. It was incredibly romantic!

The story follows Jacyln and Brooks, two high school friends who meet after a long time. Brooks, who is a deputy now and Jacyln is a nanny. After going through some sorrowful experiences, Jacyln arrives in Sawgrass and continues her job as a nanny. She quickly reunites with Brooks and sparkling something that was amiss in her life.
Brooks always had feelings for her but never voiced them to Jacyln. A lot has changed over the past few years but not his love for the girl he fell in love with. Through deep conversations about happiness, loss, sorrows and jovial reminiscences, they begin to understand each other a lot more closely.
But like any other story theirs was also filled with unexpected twists. Will Brooks and Jacyln finally confess that their relationship was more than friendship?
This was such a sweet, heart warming story that made me feel all joys of love. I loved both the protagonist especially Brooks, he made me swoon over his caring and charming personality. Jacyln’s character was well done as well, her generosity and lovable traits complemented Brooks’s character beautifully.
Their story in addition to the involvement of other characters made this book more memorable because it is one thing when the story is focused on the lead characters and completely another when the side characters are are progressively involved thus making it a wholesome story line. And the twist that was introduced by the middle of the novel was an unexpected but welcoming turn of event.
Last but not the least, A love so true was a delightful read and I’d definitely recommend it to love to read cosy romance.
Jaclyn isn’t your typical billionaire – in fact, it’s really easy to forget that she is one. Down to earth and unpretentious, her warm personality wraps around you like a hug. It’s not hard to see why Brooks fell in love with her so many years ago & hasn’t quit loving her yet. I grinned pretty much every time she was on the page because I genuinely liked her as a character.
Brooks is equally as likable – a swoony sweetheart with a southern drawl who has fought hard to overcome a lot of odds stacked against him. He may be from ‘the other side of the tracks’ as Jaclyn but theirs is a friendship forged on what they have in common & how they complement each other’s differences. Both of these multidimensional characters will claim your heart early on in the story.
Bottom Line: The writing in A Love So True is easy to follow with a smooth flow and steady pace, and the characters are layered and engaging. From the prologue ‘meet cute’ to their reuniting unexpectedly 14 years later & everything that unfolds from there, the story holds your attention and keeps you invested in the outcome. While this is the 3rd in a series, it’s ok to stand alone – though you’ll meet some characters in this book whose stories you’ll want to discover in the previous books. A light read that will make your heart smile!

This billionaire story features a wealthy female–Jaclyn–but no one would ever guess that’s she’s mega rich. It’s more of an afterthought, as she makes her own living and works hard doing what she loves.
Brooks and Jaclyn were from very opposite sides of the tracks in high school, but they were exactly what each other needed, and I loved watching this couple reconnect after years apart, living very different lives. Their opposite ways are also quite apparent in their feelings of the past and I enjoyed watching them strike a balance with their feelings and relationship as they navigate this friendship renewal.
I love a story that can take two characters and mesh them into a perfect harmonious duet. Their personalities and strengths complement each other in ways that merge them into an ultimate and lovable couple. Life isn’t easy and the struggles these two wade through are both realistic and heart-engaging. My sympathy chord was struck, and I found this story uplifting and sweet, to go along with that tinge of heartache.
Content: mild romance
