Calvin and Graham were falling apart, and each had pretty much given up on their marriage. When each of them met Emory, there was just something special between them that couldn’t be denied. Would it be possible for Calvin and Graham to heal their own relationship with the addition of lonely, stubborn, sexy Emory?
I loved this book. I wish it had given more information about Emory’s responsibilities with his inheritance, and what happened with each man during the six months before the final scene. Otherwise, it was wonderful. I hurt for each of the men at different times, and I smiled at their interaction in others. This book stands alone with no problem, but I still recommend the entire series, just because it’s great. Recommended with feeling!
Hot Dayuum in deed!!! This story is hot, sexy and if you get interrupted whilst listening to it you may well want to hurt the person who interrupts you!!! For not only is the story all that the narrator’s voice is all that too!! Where to start with this review??
The men. All so different but yet the same on a base level; in need of love, of patience, of caring, of being seen, of time, of being made to feel special. Each of them were coming from a different place in their lives and thinking they needed something different, something more shallow, hard and fast to chase away the emptiness. But do they really…
The characters. From isolated rich boy, closeted female lawyer, overbearing dad, commanding bear restaurant manager, black tie wearing lawyer, a snotty English lawyer and Zach the characters all gel really well. The chemistry between the main characters sizzles like a frying pan in high and had the hairs on my neck standing on end, which is inappropriate whilst working! The supporting characters are just right, being subtle and well placed and rather not needed mostly!
The narration. Christopher Rourke had me listening to this book in one go, 6 hours 29 minutes, and I could listen for longer. He has a great voice and as said above the hairs on my neck and arms were definitely raised during particular scenes. He had a distinct voice for each character, the female character was great which is not always the case with male narrators, and his English accent was definitely nothing like Dick Van Dyke which gets a bonus point from me.
My slight negatives would be that the narration needed a tad of emotion; I like it when the narrator is ‘playing the part’ and you hear the breathing during a scene, the catch of the breath, the emotion in the speech. And also sometimes Emory sounded like Henry and Calvin sounded like Kelvin. Not major game changers for listening to the book, just something that I noted.
I totally loved this story, this author and this narrator. I’m off now to pick up the first two books in the trilogy as you should too xx

Nicely done story about an established couple who’ve separated and the hot, young guy who brings a spark back to their relationship. Turns out the new guy needs them as much as they need him and it all unfolds in a truly lovely way.
This has turned out to be a fantastic series and I highly recommend it.
It should be of no surprise that I am a fan of Hawthorne’s writing at this point but I have to say that this is absolutely one of her best. Triads hold a special place in my heart but my favorites are those that begin with a struggling relationship. Calvin and Graham are broken. There’s a lot of love and history but the day to day struggles have won. They’ve separated and they’re miserable. Graham is a sensitive teddy bear. Calvin just wants to feel appreciated.
Emory is a feisty ray of sunshine. He’s lonely, but doesn’t “date” and he hates being back in Edgewood so he’s looking for some distractions. The three meet separately and Emory doesn’t want to pick, but he doesn’t know that the two men he’s seeing already have a history.
The angst in this book is beautiful and painfully real. The pain of being disconnected and out of sync from someone you love to the point of breaking is so tangible. Graham and Calvin miss each other terribly and need lots of coaxing to communicate. Emory fears becoming an accessory in the repaired relationship but he actually becomes the glue keeping them all together as they build something entirely new. He brings light to tense moments or distracts with a steamy one. I really loved reading about these guys. This is my favorite of Edgewood so far! Read this!
I always trust Kate Hawthorne to offer me a heart-wrenching love story and also have my blood boil with her books. And yes,the bond between Calvin,Graham and Emory is unconventional but their feelings are so raw and real that I easily fell for them.
All three men are incredible. Kindhearted, strong, confident yet also so vulnerable. Each have their insecurities and internal conflicts and it’s an heartwarming experience to see them slowly pick up their broken pieces and put them back together, creating a strong, deep connection.
A Love Made Whole gripped my heart and had my pulse race at a wild pace. It’s love, passion and new beginnings. It’s heat, intensity and happy ending. It’s BEAUTIFUL.
Yay for trios! And hooray for complicated characters! This book contained no murder whatsoever, which made me sad, but I survived. (So did everyone else, which is a problem, but here we are.)
In all seriousness, we have two men who love each other deeply but have worked themselves to a point in their marriage where they can’t be together. We all know those people. Maybe we’ve even been those people. It’s easy to relate to Graham and Calvin. (I found it easier to relate to Calvin, but that may just be me and I still liked Graham.)
Emory shows up in their lives – separately – and they find a way back together. It’s very simple and incredibly complicated, all at the same time.
Emory is a little bit less relatable than Calvin and Graham, and a bit less likeable. In the end, though, I wound up hoping for his happy ending too.
A few things felt rushed, and there were a few scenes where Chekhov’s Gun failed to fire. I’m wondering if some scenes wound up cut from the final version, and in the end it didn’t matter. I still cried, and cried a lot. (Fortunately, the Spouse had dozed off and didn’t see.)
You won’t regret picking this book up.
When someone becomes the missing piece that heals all the rough edges… These are characters that will absolutely stick with you. The emotion between Calvin and Graham is heart-rending. Emory has the sass that hides the pain of his past. How the three of them piece together a relationship that works for everyone while looking into themselves brings you all the feels- I felt so much emotion while reading it. The characters and their interactions are layered and complex. There is plenty of steam but there is so much more beneath it. I love all of Hawthorne’s books- this one is special. There is so much depth and understanding in what happens when long term partners lose sight of each other. You absolutely sink into the story. I guarantee you will stay up all night to finish it. A must read!!!
There’s always an author that is a one-click or an instant KU download. You just immediately trust that their newest book is going to knock it out of the park. Because they have proven in the past that’s always been the case. Whether it’s the writing style, the topics, or the emotional process, there’s something that always draws us in…I’ll be honest mine’s the Triads 😉
So, I WAS EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!!!! And it was definitely was another stellar addition to Hawthorne’s newest series “Secrets in Edgewood.” As to expect this story is a hard-fought love (KH never makes it easy), but this one was also about loneliness and how one’s needs can sometimes fall to the wayside in a relationship, no matter how much you love someone.
Emory, Calvin, and Graham have a tough road ahead of them, albeit a HOT road, but still tough. It’s not every day that you split with your husband of more than a decade and you meet someone new. Then only to come to find out your ex has also met someone new and that you BOTH met the SAME person. Yet, in a turn of events, NO one wants each let other go and everyone decides to embark on likely the most complicated triad to ever hit Edgewood!
These are different men, who all bring such different qualities to relationships. It was lovely to see how much they all cared about each other and how they taught each other so much about commitment (or lack of). However, I think what stands out so much in this book is how Hawthorne was able to dive into the acceptance of failure and yet finding the beauty in life, love, and commitment in that failure.
I didn’t expect that this story would start three men on a complete re-understanding of their relationships and needs. That bringing in a third didn’t suddenly fix a marriage but instead allowed for communication and growth for all three personally and romantically. That all three of them somehow made each other better by letting each other open up.
It was honestly wonderful to see an author embrace pain (the emotional kind) to kickstart a relationship towards grabbing life by the *coughunmentionablescough* It was refreshing to have a story not believe that the grass is always greener somewhere else, but that hard-fought lessons can make new beginnings.
5/5 – Yeah…I got wrecked by another Hawthorne Triad…

A Love Made Whole is the third book in the Secrets in Edgewood series by Kate Hawthorne.
Calvin, Graham and Emory… they are so sweet, so hot… so perfect! I love the three of them together… the way that Emory filled a missing piece that allowed Calvin and Graham to fit once again.
The book is well written, with interesting characters and an entertaining story. Sweet and sexy, with some feels. Definitely a book I see myself rereading.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
