Rachel Taylor has survived so many tragedies in her life, what’s one more? But when Hurricane Gabriel takes aim at her house, ruining practically everything, she’s not sure this one won’t take her out completely. With two small children and no husband, she knows she has no choice but to accept the generosity of Derek West and his television construction crew. However, Derek isn’t in charge of … this one. Caleb James is, and Rachel’s world is about to be rocked to the foundations by this handsome, wonderful, big-hearted construction guy. The problem is, too many tragedies have taught her to not trust any good thing. Can she get her house back in one piece and keep her heart that way too?
Caleb James was not planning to be point person in front of and behind the camera, but when his boss, Derek West finds himself stretched in too many directions trying to help the people of Ridgemount clean up after the hurricane, Caleb has to step into the limelight to help out. Of course, he’s always kind of wondered what being the head of his own crew might be like, but with Derek on-set, the chances of him getting his big break have always been slim-to-none. Then, without warning, he’s in front of the camera, and his big break may just have found him. But even as he tries to navigate this new way of life, he finds himself attracted to and then falling for the home owner, a young widow with two small children who have stolen his heart. Unfortunately, his line of work is all about moving on when one project is finished. Which one will he choose, his dream job or his love for a woman who may never be able to love him back?

In a world with so much hurt and pain it is refreshing to know that this author writes with a hope filled view. So much to overcome and yet with patience and love anything is possible…. Love that it is set in Alaska…
I am so in love with this series of books that I am reading them all. This was my first one, and it is an incredible love story. My faith deepened with these books. They are so full of scripture, inspiration quotes, and the wonderful growth of a group of friends who become “family.”
read this book first–didn’t realize it was 3rd in a series. made me want to read the rest of the series, so I got the whole thing. they are all great!
I always enjoy books by Staci Stallings. You may need to refresh yourself with Jane Austen’s works to get the full benefit of this book.
I loved this book so much, I had to read all the rest in this series.
An excellent read about making choices in life and deciding what is most important in a person’s life. Much good martial advice about being true partners. Many good ideas for a person to think about when contemplating marriage.
Although you might want to say “all right, deal with this issue and move on” this book is probably more realistic in the time and facets of emotional and spiritual issues that people face. The characters have real struggles and work through them with God’s help.
Great novel! love all Stallings books!
I love Staci Stallings books! This one did seem a little slow though. I love this series, and enjoyed seeing the other characters from previous books.
Early on, I was disappointed because I “knew” the ending and I wanted to keep reading forever. I was surprised that I was at only 30%! This book was so real and engaging, it kept me wanting more. It has real characters living out real Christian lives.
I enjoyed the book but it was quite long. I didn’t think I would ever finish it. The Christian aspect was great and i enjoyed the biblical teachings. I will probably read more of the author’s books.
I loved this whole series and find her writings inspirational.
LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fell in love with this book because it was so true to real life and how our pasts hinder our future because of the lies we believe. I loved the way that faith and great wisdom about life was intertwined throughout the story. I learned a lot about myself and how to help others.
Staci at her best.
Great read
Started a bit slow for me because I couldn’t relate to the female character, but it all comes together soon enough and couldn’t resist reading the book straight through. Highly recommend! Inspirational, informative, and wonderful characters. This book stays in my library for future reading.
Inspirational, teaching, realistic examples. Yes romantic. Highly recommend to all ages.
Stacie is an awesome writer of Christian literature bringing God’s word cloaked in everyday life through realistic circumstances
This shared so much information concerning my spiritual journey. Very realistic and thought provoking.
