In this candid, insightful, and unconventional memoir, Goldie Hawn invites us to join her in an inspirational look back at the people, places, and events that have touched her. It is the spiritual journey of a heart in search of enlightenment. With her trademark effervescence, Goldie delivers a personal look at private and powerful events that carried her through life: her father’s spontaneity; … father’s spontaneity; her mother’s courage; and the joy of being a daughter, a sister, a parent, and a lover. She writes about her childhood dreams of becoming a ballerina. She takes us on a tour of her go-go years in 1960s New York City, the phenomenon of TV’s Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, her Oscar-winning debut in Cactus Flower and Hollywood stardom. She writes intimately about the challenges of love, anger and fear, and the importance of compassion and integrity. She speaks openly about her family, her partner Kurt Russell, her children; her faith, her curiosity for that which she doesn’t yet know, and her thirst for knowledge. Most of all, it is a trip back through a life well lived by a woman well loved.

The book seems so disjointed and so I have not read the whole book. It seemed soft of Like journal writing but mostly of her thoughts regarding different things and it could not spark an interest to read on.
Not a typical biography. Mildly interesting but what you expect (and perhaps want) are not in this book.
Read it if you are a dedicated “Goldie” fan. Otherwise, leave it on the shelf.
I love Goldie and I love her story! A must read for fans.
Fun and inlighting.
This was certainly not what I was expecting. I really enjoyed this view of Ms. Hawn, her life, and how her personal philosophy has developed over her lifetime.
An enlightening autobiography of Goldie Hawn. I always enjoyed her as a comedian and actress. She now has much more of my respect. She is a well rounded woman. I didn’t know she produced & directed. And on top of that, she’s got Kurt Russell!
For starting out on stage so very young and moving on to such huge success in show business, Goldie strikes me as a very down to earth woman, wife, mother…..I remember back when she married Bill Hudson ( I will admit to some jealousy!!) and then Kurt Russell (who wouldn’t love Kurt!!!), I realize that even movie stars don’t always get the perfect life, the perfect “happily ever after”, that they have their trials and tears just like the rest of us. She is a strong and beautiful lady inside and out and I admire her very much….
Good read. Surprised that Goldie was so introspective and philosophical. Interesting
Goldie was very revealing about the women herself. As I read, I admired her courage and also the great job her mother did to show her that it’s alright to be different. She is very introspective and believes in her insight, something we can all learn.
I’m certain her life wasn’t and isn’t always easy, but she sure has given it a good shot!!
I love to read about how famous people become famous. Loved reading about Hawn’s childhood and her family and friends. I was a little put off by the many different forms of religion she practices, but it’s her life and her story.
Love her, love the book, easy read, about her made her points. Enjoyed a bunch.
This book is just OK. Every little chapter explains one experience and then Goldie expounds on the moral or lesson to be learned. It’s like Goldie meets Ghandi. Not impressed.
Taking me a while to get through, not holding my attention.
Seems as if Ms Hawn spent lots of years in therapy. She knows all the right terms. Loves her kids but spent so much time with orphans and elephants. Hollywood doors were open to her so easily but she swears she never gave in to a casting couch.
Goldie was so honest & entertaining in her writing. Very interesting book about someone that was so popular when I was growing up. Enjoyed the book.
Did not like her book! It was boring! Very boring! She started off as a baby! I was very disappointed!!!! and I wish I had my money back even though it was only $1.99 it was wasted !!!
Loved it. She is a delight and very smart,
I had hoped there would be more personal stories. The book has a lot of information about her career and her “lucky breaks”.
Made me like Goldie even more.
Very lightweight fare, but for fans of Goldie, there is enough to make it worth a read.
