In this candid, insightful, and unconventional memoir, Goldie Hawn invites us to join her in an inspirational look back at the people, places, and events that have touched her. It is the spiritual journey of a heart in search of enlightenment. With her trademark effervescence, Goldie delivers a personal look at private and powerful events that carried her through life: her father’s spontaneity; … father’s spontaneity; her mother’s courage; and the joy of being a daughter, a sister, a parent, and a lover. She writes about her childhood dreams of becoming a ballerina. She takes us on a tour of her go-go years in 1960s New York City, the phenomenon of TV’s Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, her Oscar-winning debut in Cactus Flower and Hollywood stardom. She writes intimately about the challenges of love, anger and fear, and the importance of compassion and integrity. She speaks openly about her family, her partner Kurt Russell, her children; her faith, her curiosity for that which she doesn’t yet know, and her thirst for knowledge. Most of all, it is a trip back through a life well lived by a woman well loved.

Goldie’s story from Goldie, it doesn’t get any better than that. This book really opened my eyes to Goldie’s real life struggles and victories. I loved her before, but I love her even more now that I “know her” better.
I love how real and personal Goldie is with the stories she writes. This book has great potential to inspire anyone who reads it. I am inspired to work harder on the relationships in my life.
Great book. I will read it again
Very well written. I enjoyed hearing about Goldie’s life. It was a charming story.
Great Lil autobiography, very fun read. What a positive force of energy she is!
Lacked substance
Really enjoyed reading about Goldie, and her kind heart. She is one smart lady.
I didn’t care for Goldie’s brand of wisdom, which is all the book contains. She glosses over a lot of life’s serious problems, including childhood sexual abuse and adultery. I quit ready halfway through. Disappointing.
Kudos to a well written biography about this fascinating woman. Honest, candid, inspirational and a testament to an incredible actress/humanitarian.
In this season of chaos, do yourself a favor and read this. So many moments that engage the reader, rebounding into ones own personal journey.
Fabulous job!
Total surprise. This is a good read for any age group but would be especially sage advice for young people. Goldie coupled her life experiences, funny and sad, to lead the reader into explanations of what she learned from them and how to move forward from the experiences.
Have always loved Goldie-really enjoyed reading about her life.
Love Goldie hawn
I’m just finishing it now. and I love it. I don’t want it to end.
Goldie Hawn has a really good mind and she writes with heart
and soul about her live and her experiences.
I was pleasantly surprised at how really good this book is.
Highly recommended.!
If is a good read about Goldie’s life.
Who would not like reading about this beautiful, talented and totally lovable human being. Being totally honest here, I have been in love (of sorts) with Goldie since first seeing her on the big screen.
I usually love autobiographies, but Goldie makes herself out to be a saint in this book, and I have a hard time believing her versions.
Anyone who likes Goldie would enjoy this book.
Enjoyed learning about Goldie Hawn’s Life
I’ve always enjoyed Goldie Hawn’s work and having run into her a few times in Aspen, was curious to know more about her. This book is part bio, part inspiring look at the guiding forces and principles that have shaped her life and philosophy. Written a few years ago, it doesn’t cover some of the most recent career events, but is an enjoyable read, presented much like someone talking to a friend.
Interesting, but I don’t necessarily agree with all her beliefs. Great gal!
