Smoke Jensen, Matt Jensen, Falcon And Duff Maccallister—Together For The First TimeThey just wanted to get home for Christmas. . .but fate had other plans. It’s December 1890. A Texas rancher named Big Jim Conyers has a deal with Scottish-born, Wyoming cattleman named Duff MacAllister. Along with Smoke and Matt Jensen, the party bears down on Dodge, Kansas, to make a cattle drive back to Forth … a cattle drive back to Forth Worth. But before they can get out of Dodge, guns go off and a rich man’s son is killed.
Soon the drive turns into a deadly pursuit, then a staggering series of clashes with bloodthirsty Indians and trigger-happy rustlers. And the worst is yet to come—the party rides into a devastating blizzard, a storm so fierce that their very survival is at stake.
From America’s greatest Western author, here is an epic tale of the unforgiving American frontier and how, amidst fierce storms of man and nature, miracles can still happen.

Love William Johnstones Christmas books
Since I was a little girl, westerns have been the one genre I knew I could best use to identify who I was. Whether it was watching westerns on TV, a movie, reading non-fiction as well as fiction, I always wanted to know more about the West with a passion. Recently, with my sons having become men, I joined the NRA, took a class, and bought my …
Great Western Story that kept you wanting more! So many twists and turns and action I could not put this book down!
It always bothers me when todays values and norms are placed in a story that is set over a hundred years ago. There was some of that in this book. Sometimes everything just seemed to easy in this story, to wrapped up in a pretty bow, and the story of the baby born at Christmas was just plain hokey.
Tedious reading. Written at an elementary level. Too wordy.
Standard fare western with typical bad guy rustlers and faster-on-the-draw good guys. Mildly entertaining but not something that strays(no pun entended) from the reliable formulae for easy reading western tale.
Great Christmas read. Lots of memorable characters.
I’ve yet to read a Johnston’s novel that wasn’t a page turning thriller and Lone Star Christmas is no exception!
Very good
great reading
I read the entire book, but have to say that it isn’t original or that any of the characters are particularly well developed. It is basically a ho-hum romance with a bit of religion thrown in. Pleasant but bland.
A nice satisfying read. The story of western life in 1890. One gets a sense of the joys and hazards of living in a barely settled portion of the US. Author bases his story on real events and provides asides on aspects of life in Texas at this time. Has everything: Good and Evil, love and hate, PG-13 hanky panky, gun play and people dying, …
Loved it
Seasonal
The author was doing fine until he lapsed into Christmas mysticism.
Good yarn but at times a bit over the top regarding the shooting capabilities of the main characters
Great read, lots off fast paced action from beginning to end.
It was one of the best westerns I have read.
Great!
I’ve read several other of Johnstone’s books. They are all good. Enjoyed this one as well.
