One of the many things I love about Toni Shiloh’s writing is how seamlessly she incorporates scripture into her writing. Her writing doesn’t come across as preaching, it simply flows out of the story. If you were to pull out all the Bible verses, the story would just fall flat.
These two main characters, Mia and Caleb are flawed, just like we all are. They have some hard lessons to learn. Shiloh invites us into the lives of these characters and I felt like I was right there in the story, walking through the events with close friends.
This book may be just over 100 pages, but it leaves a strong impression and gives us an important reminder of the importance of forgiveness. I highly recommend this fantastic story to anyone who enjoys reading sweet love stories, with a strong element of faith!
(I purchased a copy of this book for my own reading enjoyment. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own.)
Author Toni Shiloh writes a story that takes us to England and a surprise meeting amidst heartache.
Mia and Caleb are both characters that the reader can connect with. Warm, human, and carrying devastating secrets, you’ll see them as people you’ve either met or want to meet. And who wouldn’t want to visit England to stay in a lovely bed & breakfast?
Secrets are so damaging, as we see as we read A Life to Live. Causing hurts along the way, both characters have to deal with secrets and pain. But God gives us second chances when we become honest with those we’ve wronged, and Shiloh makes sure we know that.
If you enjoy a contemporary setting and sweet romance, then I recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
This is a beautiful story of dealing with loss and learning to live beyond the pain. The author brings her characters through some pretty tough stuff and shows there is hope. These characters are just like many of us. Often, we hold on to pain or grief so long that we can’t heal. Even though that pain and hurt out there, God desires to heal those hurts, and give hope for the future!
The author, Toni Shiloh, has a wonderful way of writing touching stories that speak sweet lessons of life. Her stories flow with great dialog and wonderful word pictures of places, people and relationships. Each one has a realness and honesty that brings the issues each of her characters deal with, in a relatable way.
As a reader, I am always touched by what she writes.
I totally enjoyed reading this book, and I highly recommend you pick it up to read.
Are Mia and Caleb meant to be together? They haven’t seen each other in years, due to extraordinary circumstances in both of their lives. The future can be theirs if only they both can forgive themselves and each other. This is a good story that reminds us that God forgives us for our sins, if only we go to Him and seek His forgiveness. We have the opportunity to forgive others and to forgive ourselves, too. Thank you for this story Toni Shiloh.
