A murderer in our midst. A mysterious connection to the past. An enemy I can’t stop crushing on.
I’ve dreamed of attending Spellcasters Spy Academy for as long as I can remember. But as it turns out, it’s not the academic utopia I imagined.
This place is dangerous as hell. And I don’t mean the classes.
They say the students in the Culling year, my year, are cursed. Someone is picking us off. … year, are cursed. Someone is picking us off. Or maybe something.
Between challenging courses, my irritating crush, and the enigmatic curse, I have my hands full, but there’s no way I’m giving up on my dream.
I’m here to stay. That is, as long as I’m not the murderer’s next victim.

Another great series start from Ashley McLeo! The main character Odette is charming and fun and I can’t wait to watch her grow over the next books. I couldn’t put the book down and finished it the same day I started it. I am excited to read the rest of the series and finish the rest of the mystery.
Outstanding New Academy Read – Full Of Class!!
A Legacy Witch (Spellcasters Spy Academy Book 1)
This has such an outstanding storyline, it’s almost ridiculous to lump it into the Academy genre because, like a so few, it’s a class above the rest!!
This is an edge of your seat read for a variety of reasons throughout. There are shocks, unfriendliness, spite & belittling, threats & even death! Secrets have been kept from our very likable main character, Odette ‘Odie’ Dane, secrets that put her in grave danger as well as set her up to look a fool & a failure! Luckily she has a close friendship form with, in the very first moments of meeting, her suite mate, Evanora ‘Eva’ Proctor. She too is feisty & sassy, loves clothes & looking the part! They’re both befriended almost immediately by sexy flirt, Hunter Wardwell. His cousin, who has captured Odie’s eye & has her almost fixated, Alex Wardwell, isn’t friendly to our three, in fact his & Hunters’ family has been in a feud for many generations!! He’s dismissive to Odie in the extreme.
They all want to be Spy’s, that’s why they’re all there after all. But our Legacy Witch Odie, stepped in knowing nothing. Can she learn fast enough to survive the Trials of Year One’s Culling? Will her magic ever play along? Will anyone tell her what’s really going on? Or will Odie be one of the Culled? What have her Parent’s done??
I devoured this book because it’s just THAT gripping!! I can’t wait for more.

Having not read many academy style books before now, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this review copy. However, I went in with an open mind and I can say that without a doubt, I’m hooked!
The dynamic between the foursome of Odie, Eva, Hunter and Alex is relatable, the writing style is genuine and easy to read and could easily put anyone in mind of being in college at times.
The book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger per says but it does leave you wanting to know what happens in the next year! Do they make it through year 2 intact? How much more awesome does the dynamic foursome get? Ashley McLeo has written a truely epic academy story that, I, for one, am dying to read the next part!
Amazing book!

This first year is called the Culling.. Can she make it or will it all be to much?
Wow what a fantastic read. A real page turner that had me on my edge of my seat. Her parents didn’t want her going to there Alma Mater. This is jam packed with epic scenes that I can visually see the scenes in my minds eye. The Author does a fantastic job at world building and bringing out the Characters. This is definitely a must read.
