A laird to love boxset 4-6Travel to the wilds of Scotland and Northern England for three tales of unlikely romance. It’s never too late for a heart to learn to love….A Scot’s SurrenderAn innocent debutante and a rogue… Miss Agnes Faulkenberry dreams of a gentleman, a knight in shining armor that sweeps her off her feet. Laird Keiran McKenna is nothing like her dreams. A rogue and sworn … rogue and sworn bachelor, she finds him irritating, when he isn’t causing her breathless excitement. The more time she spends with him, the more the line between knight and rogue blurs. Not that it matters, because he’d never love her in return would he? Laird Keiran McKenna has no intention of marrying. He’s seen too much darkness to make any woman happy. But Agnes is the worst. A dewy-eyed prim miss who looks down her nose at him. Until she is in danger and her arms wrap around his neck as her luminous blue eyes beg him for help. Suddenly his resolutions begin to crumble no matter how he tries to hold them around his heart.
My Laird’s Seduction
Lady Ainsley McDougal has long been the bell of the ball. But there is one beau she cannot tame, which, of course, is her favorite kind. She’ll catch her man yet. Laird James McPherson is a Highland Laird, an English Earl, a soldier of the Indian War, and a privateer for the British Navy simply for the joy of it. He’ll be damned before one tiny blond spitfire of a Scottish lass brings him to his knees and ties him down in wedlock. But even he can’t deny that he’s tempted…
The Earl’s Forsaken Bride
Lord Callum Blackwood does not want a silly empty headed lass for a wife. He’s seen too much darkness, for such a woman. Nor does he have the patience or softness to woo a blushing bride. He needs a woman that can step into the role of wife and fill his obligation for an heir. Lady Elizabeth has been ruined by her father’s gambling debts and is now a lowly laundress. But her fate cannot hide her beauty, her strength, or the lady that still lives within. And while she takes pride in her work, her ability to care for herself in a world that forces women to rely on men, she cannot deny that Callum could help her. Especially when her aunt falls gravely ill. Neither wants love, but nor can they deny the attraction that sparks between them. Will those feelings, forge a bond or break their tentative agreement apart?

The stories that are a part of the A Laird to Love box set are short reads but they are very powerful with characters that are interesting and memorable. The connection that develops between the couples are palpable and very heartfelt. There is always a little bit of humor, heart, and steam with every story that you read and they are all with endings that will satisfy the romantic reader in you. This is a box set that I would highly recommend for a quick romance fix!
This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Aurora Publicity. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.
I’ve read individual copies of all of these books and they’re fantastic. This is a great deal for readers that love historical romance!
A Scott’s Surrender – I will not review the whole story, chapter by chapter, as it has been done in previous reviews but will highly recommend this book for its wonderful main & sub characters that you will fall in love with, great plot, humor, romance, suspense, close family ties, & a little spice to round it all out! I love Tammy Andresen’s style of writing & I have to give her a huge “thank you” for such a sweet books! I adore all the past characters from all the books in this series & Agnes & Keiran were the perfect couple.
My Laird’s Seduction – Well, surprise, surprise I loved it! Fantastic Laird James McPherson, Earl of Rotheport & fiery Lady Ainsley McDougal were such a great couple! The heart wrenching life that James had endured & the tenderness he learned to feel from Ainsley left me in tears several times. Another winner, you have such a way to suck the reader in & I could easily put myself into the middle of this family.
The Earl’s Forsaken Bride – This was a very good, although short, romantic tale. Lord Callum Blackwood (a handsome Scott & who can resist that) has come back from war with all the bad memories but he knows he needs a wife & an heir to fulfill his responsibility as an Earl. He is introduced to Lady Elizabeth who has been ruined due to her father’s gambling debts & she is strong, beautiful, level headed & has taken care of her seriously ill Aunt & herself since her father’s demise by taking in laundry. Callum is attracted to her from the beginning & it doesn’t take long for him to know Elizabeth would be the perfect wife & future mother to his heir, plus she understood his darkness. This was a romantic, fun, a little spicy journey to a HEA with a great couple that really needed each other but neither wanted love & thank goodness for her cousin, Ewan, who appeared from the past, as their personal Matchmaker. Even though the book was short, Tammy Andresen’s style of writing really helps you get to know the characters in a very endearing way.
A Scot’s Surrender: A man damaged by war and having seen and done things that will haunt him forever, makes Laird Keiran McKenna reluctant to foist himself on any woman. That doesn’t mean he is adverse to Agnes Faulkenberry, just that she is too sweet and innocent to besmirch with his past. Agnes, on the other hand, has her view’s regarding the warrior and they aren’t complimentary. However, when she’s in danger, he is the one to sweep her up. As with all of Ms Andresen’s books, there is a well-written romance, strong characters and humour.
My Laird’s Seduction:A delightful Highland love story, this book is well written, witty and romantic. Lady Ainsley has had her pick of available men, and her family is very well aware of the fact that even though she has always stayed on the right side of respectability, she has nevertheless been skating close to the edge in her choice of potential beaus. Laird James has been badly burnt by women who have Ainsley’s characteristics and despite his attraction, he adopts an attitude that borders on rude and belligerent to prevent Ainsley from throwing out her lures to him. Despite his best attempts, James discovers that his heart is not obeying his head and when he observes that Ainsley puts her family before herself, he has to rethink his initial impression of her. This warm-hearted story that centres on family hit all the right spots for me. I loved James, his strength and his ability to admit when he was wrong, and Ainsley’s loyalty to her family really spoke to me.
The Earl’s Forsaken Bride: In this gentle love story, two wounded people find hope and healing in one another. Lady Elizabeth’s father took the easy way out, leaving her to face ruin and disgrace at a time when she should have been making a match. It’s sad to say that even though society has come a long way, the aftermath of suicide is still devastating and people’s attitudes haven’t really changed over the past two to three hundred years. My heart therefore went out to Elizabeth as she picked up the pieces of her life with pride and dignity. Callum, on the other hand, is fighting his own demons, and not wanting a missish wife to contend with, he chooses Elizabeth, thinking that with her experiences, she is less likely to cave in under his dark moods. Little did they realise that in each other they could find the missing pieces to their lives and experience fulfillment at the deepest level. I loved all the characters in this book: Elizabeth with her fierce independence; Aunty Mary with her streak of humour; Callum with his careful wooing of Elizabeth and willingness to put their lives to right; and even Ewan who was able to look beyond the poverty his relatives had fallen into. The story was well written, emotive and left me with a warm spot in my heart.
I have previously read all of the books in this series and this is my honest and voluntary review.
