I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were easy to like, and the plot was good. The editing was spot on. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because there were a few things that bothered me. It was a nice fantasy but to me there were a few things that were too over the top. The fish guarding the portal is silly. Worms and other little creatures talking, making the earth shake, etc. I realize it was in fae land, but at that point it became too juvenile for my taste. The repetitive mention of Sophia “worrying her lower lip” every time she was anxious was as boring as someone “holding their breath” and not realizing it. All in all, I truly liked the book and would not hesitate to read more by this author.

I was drawn into the book from the first sentence, which had me totally intrigued however the rest of the book left me slightly disappointed. Misinformation & withheld information could have made for a great read but for me it fell flat. It was in fact a fun read with no great depth, the characters were well portrayed but lacking depth. The pace flowed well but it just left me wanting more
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I was first intrigued by the title with the word magic in it I was immediately interested as it fed my love of all things mystical.
Then you read the description with a hint towards murder and well I was ready to delve in.
What I wasn’t prepared for was just how good this book was. Not only did I find the magically part intriguing and captivating but the mystery behind our leading man was rather interesting.
Add in romance, talking gnomes and a wee bit of fairy dust and I couldn’t put this book down. I enjoyed the story, the characters were enchanting and the, of course, the writing brilliant.
Overall a great winter read to snuggle by the fire with.
different story/sex
I loved this story about a fairy and a human. The romance between them and how it came about seems almost real..
Oh my…haven’t read a book recently that took me thru so many emotions. I laughed out loud, cried silent tears, warmed my heart. Cannot say enough praise for this book. No spoilers, don’t like to do that. Just know if you looking for a great book with emotions, magic, steamy romance etc., then READ THIS!!! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Loved it!
Good, just not my cup of tea
Great book but their seems to be a trend with peers of the real…they have bratty kids who act better with the right woman around
Slow starting, this book got more interesting as I got into it. In many ways, this is a standard Regency Romance. The fairy element and the interaction of human and fae worlds adds interest tho
The heroine was so entertaining.
Didn’t finish this really wasn’t my kinda story. A little over the top. Sophia is a fairy who is in the human world but it’s a tad far fetched
Interesting ….I enjoyed the way the author brought the Fae into the story and how it evolved. Very entertaining reading into a regency setting with faeries and humans. I enjoyed the book.
Like the plot, very interesting
I loved the story
Clever, fun read
Amusing banter and fun love story
I liked it. Kept my attention through out the book.

Too long to get to the point. Very slow read
