MY TAKE
Talk about a pair of people carrying baggage from previous relationships and family dynamics. And some “bad luck” as well. Seriously. But, in spite of it, Parker and Kelli are so right for each other. It was fun to get to see Graham and Merit again. They played a big part in the story, though I would never have imagined the pair as matchmakers. It’s quite a fun idea. The resolution was sweet and satisfying.
I confess that I wanted to see Parker having a little discussion with Kelli’s father about the horrible way he treated his daughter. He needed to know how much he hurt her, and I wanted to see the remorse. But, Easton took the higher road and just let us know they had resolved it.
4 1/2 stars
A fun read with an amazing array of activities for Christmas done by the employees of Merit and Graham. What a fabulous treat to vacation in such a place for Christmas at the boss’ expense. Loved the story.
Such a fun read! I loved the enemies to lovers relationship between Parker and Kelli and their pranks against each other were hilarious! I enjoyed the unique setting for a Christmas story yet lots of fun Christmas traditions were included that still gave it a holiday feel. I liked seeing characters reappear from the first book in the series too!
Definitely recommend this book – such a great holiday read!
Kelli and Parker are adorable and I loved their prank wars – kept them clean and didn’t hurt each other’s feelings – just good fun. They both have hurts that make them sad and me too. Really enjoyed the activities they participated in while on their company Christmas vacation. When there is a bump in the road in their romance they receive help from a couple of different sources. One enjoyable read and I loved the ending.
A sweet fun clean contemporary romance! I especially love the pranks that were played throughout this novel!
Loved Parker and Kelli’s story! Parker had to learn that he wasn’t as bad as his ex made him out to be, it was really that she couldn’t accept him as he was. Kelli had to learn that she wasn’t the reason people left, that it was their decision, and independent of her as a person. They both had to learn that people make their own choices, and that others also have to live with the choices they made. Great book, and I loved that characters we met before were in this book, too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
A Kiss at Christmas has it all! Sweet and witty with hilarious moments, emotional moments, a wonderful storyline and adorable characters. This is one of those books you just can’t put down.
I received an ARC and have chosen to give my honest opinion.
Clean sweet romance. I enjoyed the main characters’ silent rivalry at work carried out by pranks against each other. I’m not sure I’d be clever enough to think of them or brave enough to carry them out… In essence this is an enemies to love story. I found the boss’s ability to play matchmaker interesting.
Both of the main characters were insecure but for different reasons and each had to overcome that insecurity to have their happily ever after. There were good reminders for all of us in the book about accepting flaws and trust etc…
It is a nice read for a quiet evening by the fire. Add some hot cocoa and maybe a little Christmas music in the background and you’ve got a perfect evening.
No sex, language or violence
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I thought this was a good and sweet Christmas romance. The book is good for a nice escape and relaxing read. While this was a sweet read it wasn’t fluff. There was good character depth and story arc. I really liked the h & H and was rooting for them. The premise is a fun idea. I didn’t read book 1 before this title and that didn’t distract from the enjoyment. When reading Christmas romances I think if this were a movie would it be too cringy and syrupy? I think this book would be one of the Christmas movies that was sweet but not make you groan in second hand awkardness of it being too sweet. The couples comedy of errors was a nice touch. The h & H had great banter and their connection seemed genuine.
A Kiss at Christmas is a delightful, sweet, Christmas romance that had me hooked right from the start. Kelli wanted everything perfect including Christmas, Parker just wanted it over. Both were spending the holiday alone until the owner of the company they work for invites them to the Palm Beach Resort along with various other colleagues for Christmas. What follows is pure joy to read. Competition, laughter, fun, tradition, Christmas, romance, love, honesty and hope. This book made me laugh and brought a tear to my eye, I loved it and definitely recommend it.
Have you ever read a book that completely hits the spot? Well, that was this book for me. I was in exactly the right mood for this sweet romance and with its themes of tradition, love, humor, family, and Christmas, along with a romantic beach setting, I was all in from the start.
Kelli is a klutz, plain and simple, but her quirks lead to hilarious moments that make her relatable and realistic. She has the best attitude towards life and is so much fun. Parker is charming and competitive, with a fantastic sense of humor and I loved watching the sparks fly right out of my Kindle. I adore characters such as these and I couldn’t read fast enough, yet I definitely didn’t want this story to end.
The themes that connected me to the characters in this book were perfect woven throughout and brought beautiful elements to the story. Although these two come from different backgrounds, they manage to complement and merge in adorable ways. This book, along with Parker and Kelli, encompassed all that is Christmas to me.
Content: mild romance
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it wont be the last! I very much enjoyed Kelli and Parker’s story! They are co-workers who have history – both good and bad! They went on a date a couple years ago and it didn’t go well. They have since both had serious relationships with other people and broken up so they are leery to dip their toes in the dating pool again. They are constantly playing pranks against each other in the workplace AND vying for the same parking place. This is a little humorous but it got a little out of control in my opinion! They get chosen to go to this all-expenses paid retreat with their company. I was amazed by this retreat! I WANTED TO GO ON IT MYSELF! Sign me up! I couldn’t believe all that was included – just wow!!! IT’s held at Christmas for those who don’t have a place to go for the holidays and the CEO choses who he wants to invite. Kelli and Parker are chosen and it’s attraction between them all over again! They are so sweet together but of course, they have issues that have to be dealt with. I enjoyed the whole story and can’t wait to read more by this author! I definitely recommend it!
I enjoyed reading Kelli and Parker’s story, through the hilarious mishaps, pranks and heartfelt circumstances. I think they are so much alike but they have to figure all that out and stirring up their relationship stuff and facing those emotions head on realistically is never easy. Thankfully they work for a great company, full of the joy of Christmas and excellent matchmaking.
This is a beautifully crafted story of two people destined to be together and I loved it. You may need a couple of tissues. I actually cried over the building a gingerbread house scene. That’s excellent writing if you can make me cry! I could feel her sorrow deep in my heart but not for long because Meg’s stories always feel like hugs. They just wrap around and make you feel good.
I received this copy free from the author and am under no obligation to leave a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am freely sharing my opinion.
I always look forward to a good story from Meg Eason and this Christmas story did not disappoint! The two main characters, Parker and Kelli, have both suffered from rejection by someone significant in their pasts and their current lives are still being impacted. They are thrown together on a company retreat at a luxurious resort at Christmastime. There are lots of fun, light-hearted Christmas-y moments, some very romantic moments, and some very sad moments out of which the characters both grow and change. They learn that it is possible to be lovable even if you’re not perfect. That’s a good lesson for all of us. Highly recommend! I received and ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is a fun story of co-workers who tried dating once with disastrous results, at least in each of their minds. It was fun to watch Kelli and Parker remember the same event differently, always with themselves looking bad. You will want to search out and find Parker’s former fiancée, Cynthia, and do her bodily harm for the mental damage she has done to him. Meg Easton brings a story with humor, misunderstandings, interesting characters, old friends and romance.
Kelli is alone this Christmas and Aldo’s is Parker, a coworker in ZentCube. So when their bosses invite them along of other ten coworkers to spend the holidays near the beach in The royal Palm Resort, all say yes. Little Kelli and Parker know that this their opportunity to face their fears and find love and happiness. A sweet love story.
I loved this second book in the series. It was so different from the first one but just as good. I liked seeing the characters from the first one come back in this one too. I liked how our main characters both had insecurities that they had to work through and to learn to trust each other. It was a fun and sweet Christmassy book.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a fun, cute Christmas story that will make you smile and leave you feeling happy. I really enjoyed returning to The Royal Palm Resort in this second book in the series. A Kiss at Christmas was a lot of fun to read because the antics and banter between Kelli and Parker at the office and at the resort were hilarious. They were both two lonely people dealing with issues from their pasts that prevented them from finding love and seeing what was right in front of their eyes.
The owner of the company they work for ZentCube offered them both a chance to stay at The Royal Palm Resort instead of spending Christmas this year by themselves. They got to stay at a mansion with twelve other people from the company. The activities sounded like so much fun and the competition between Kelli and Parker to be the winner was funny. They are both overachievers. I would say the matchmakers did another great job in this story too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I found this book to be a little frustrating.
I’m not sure how old Kelli and Parker were supposed to be, but all of the pranks they played were a bit much. I felt like they had some chemistry. I didn’t feel as though they had a lot of chemistry. I didn’t find Kelli to be very likable.
Parker and Kelli had a problem communicating with each other. Even after acknowledging their attraction, it still seemed to be very difficult for them to open up to one another. I don’t know if Parker ever clearly explained about his previous relationship and the effect it had on him. It also seemed like Kelli had trouble expressing her feelings to her dad.
I did really liked the premise regarding the “matchmaking” Christmas retreat with Graham and Merit.
This book was ok. It was a fast paced, sweet, holiday romance. I know it is labeled as a “beach” romance, and one of the locations was Myrtle Beach, but it all felt cold and Christmassy to me. Rest assured, Kelli and Parker do get their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy received from the author.
