I got so caught up, had to get book 2, to finish the tale. Loved it.
Fictional story of historical events and characters. How this man endured is truly inspirational.
It’s alright; thought it would have more history
This is the first of a 3 part series on the life and legacy of James I of Scotland. I am currently reading the second book. The author notes historical divergences and character information at the end. I often google things as I am reading to learn more or confirm historical information. If the few sexual situations were toned down, this would …
Very disappointing. Sketchy history, two dimensional characters and poor writing and editing.
I liked the true story aspect of the book. My only criticism of the story is that it covered a complicated political subject and sometimes it was hard to follow the different characters, names, etc.
The story dragged a little bit here and there. However, over all it was an interesting and informative time period piece.
I enjoyed the book all the way through except for the abrupt ending. I am finding this typical of serialized books. I understand it, but I don’t like it.
Good read but I was disappointed by the ending. I had to google the relevant history to find out what happened later.
A good history lesson
Entertaining historical view into the life of Scotland’s James I, well done story.
Just a great historical read and a little different view regarding James I of Scotland.
I enjoy learning more about history. This book was very informative and made the characters come alive.
Book kept me coming back and coming back. Now I’ve purchased book #2.
King James of the Scots was held prisoner for years by the English king. This
is his story. And it’s much more exciting than that little bit sounds.
The story is great; I prefer historical novels. If you are a member of the grammar police, though, don’t read this because it will frustrate you. A good proof read from a person who understands possessives and how to use further/farther, among other things, will greatly improve a reader’s experience. I couldn’t lose myself in the story because I …
Very readable historical fiction.
A little to war story for me.
I loved reading about the times and people of that era. The characters were brought to life for me and i was right there with them.
Captivating!
It is about a time in Scotland’s history of which I am unfamiliar. Am intrigued by the history and will seek out more information about that era.
