Welcome to the Bean Hive Coffeehouse where the coffee is as hot as the gossip!“Fabulous fun and fantastic fried food! Kappes nails small town mystery with another must-read hit. Don’t miss this one!”– Darynda Jones, New York Times Bestselling Author of Eighth Grave After DarkLight, camera, lattes!A film production crew is wrapping up a major movie filming in Honey Springs, Kentucky. Everyone is … Springs, Kentucky.
Everyone is excited. The production crew has brought the bright lights to the tourist town and The Bean Hive has been supplying the production crew with unlimited treats and coffee.
When film actress Daisy Lemon comes in for a taste of the Star Studded Latte being served at the Bean Hive, Roxy Bloom is excited to serve her one. It would be good for promotion for Roxy to get a photo of the famous actress drinking her creation, only Roxy is witness to Daisy’s kidnapping.
The Star Studded Latte is now know as the Kidnap Latte, bringing national attention to the Bean Hive, attention that’s not necessarily welcome.
With production on hold and Stephen Lemon, Daisy’s husband, as the number one suspect, Roxy puts back on her law hat to help Stephen not only clear his name, but find Daisy before Honey Springs is no longer known for the cute, southern, lake tourist town due to the sudden spotlight on the cozy town.

I love it and it works as standalone which is great point for new reader. Now of course it’s better read in order but if you missed a few or just discover this series with this instalment you have all the necessary background to be swept into the story without feeling like you are missing important information.
Roxy is a great heroine and aunt Maxi is a character we can’t forget like a whole bunch of Honey Spring residents. With a film production the whole city is excited and in a flurry of activity which is good for the city until the actress disappear and lights are on Honey Spring for bad reasons.
Poor Patrick is doing his best to support Roxy fully even if he doesn’t like knowing she can be in danger and that was really cute .Pepper and Sassy the dogs are a little less seen in this instalment we do get enough to be smiling while deep immersed in the mystery.
The investigation and mystery are wonderfully written to keep us on edge so as often with this series this is a great southern mystery to recommend with of course the recipe in bonus ( still must try some).
Hollywood is visiting Honey Springs! A production crew is wrapping the movie they have been shooting on the Boardwalk. Several of Honey Springs’s businesses have provided their services to the cast and crew. So of course, Roxy supplied coffee and treats from the Bean Hive. Roxy even created a drink she named Star-Studded Latte. Daisy Lemon the star of the movies ask to meet Roxy after the movie wrapped. She wants Roxy to make her one of a latte. Shortly after Daisy leaves the Bean Hive she is kidnapped. Roxy is asked to represent Daisy’s husband, so she is determined to clear his name and keep Honey Springs out of the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
Honey Springs has been the best medicine for me. I have been recovering from surgery and have been very uncomfortable. When I got my hands on a copy of A Killer Latte I couldn’t wait to start reading. I read the book in one sitting. I was so drawn into who may have kidnapped Daisy and the events that followed that I was able to escape my discomfort for a little while. I really love Roxy and her family and friends. There are several twists and turns to keep you guessing, I usually have a pretty good idea of who a culprit is but I never saw this one coming. This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone or part of the series. I recommend this book to mystery fans and fans of Tonya Kappes.
I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.
They have just finished filming a movie where The Bean Hive is in the closing scene. Everyone in town is super excited to have Honey Springs as the backdrop of the movie. Just before the movie production is leaving town, the main star, Daisy Lemon comes into The Bean Hive for one of those lattes the crew has been raving about. Roxy makes her the Star-Studded Latte. As Daisy is going to arrive at the ‘bust’ revealing she is kidnapped! Now, the latte has been re-named by social media as the Kidnap Latte! Stephen Lemon is the main suspect in her kidnapping, so Roxy agrees to be her lawyer. Things are not always what they seem, even in Honey Springs. But can they find Daisy before it is too late?
Why is her husband acting so strangely when asked questions? You will have to read this story to find out. Get your latte ready…..you won’t want to stop till the very end! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
“A Killer Latte” the 6th book in the Tonya Kappes Killer Coffee Series is a very entertaining book. I absolutely love everything that Tonya has written and this book is no exception. Even though this book is number 6 in the series it can be read as a standalone but, I think you will enjoy it even more if you read the first 5 in the series. I opened the book and did not want to put it down. This is an easy to read book that moves along nicely. It has twists and turns that keep you guessing until you reach the end just when you think you have it figured out Tonya takes you in a new direction. There are fascinating characters some from the past books in this series. I don’t know how she does it but I am amazed how she comes up with new and fresh plots. I love that the author adds recipes in the book. So many new ones to try. I can’t wait for the next installment in the Killer Coffee Series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.
A Killer Latte by Tonya Kappes is another first rate cozy mystery in Ms. Kappes’ Killer Coffee series.
I loved being back in Honey Springs, Kentucky with Roxy, Aunt Maxie, Patrick and the rest of the quirky residents of this small town. As always Ms. Kappes has written a cleverly woven plot with several suspects, red herrings and plenty of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages. I was totally surprised at the reveal. This is an excellent example of a clean and cozy mystery with a small town that makes me right at home.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.
I had a really stressful day and didn’t sleep well so when I woke up Thursday morning I said okay let’s escape for awhile. Little did I know I would get so wrapped up in Honey Springs, Kentucky and the Bean Hive Coffee House that 4 hours had gone by like that. I no love ne’er felt stressed just happy.
Lights, Cameras, Lattes!

The mystery is interesting and well plotted, and I loved the quirky, loveable characters which are well developed. I also like the inclusion of furbabies into the story.
There are plenty of twists and turns in this story, and I kept guessing and second-guessing myself on whodunnit right to the very end. The story moves at a steady pace, and I had a hard time putting it down.
I haven’t read the first few books even though I own them, but only read the crossover book and can say this could be read as a stand alone.
Did I mention Tonya includes recipes in the back and I am definitely try the Blueberry Crumb cake for Easter.
I cant wait to take another trip to Honey Springs, Kentucky, to see whats new with Roxy and her friends. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading cozy mysteries.
I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a fun read, that kept me guessing!
Honey Springs, Kentucky is the place a production crew picked to film a movie, with the main star, Daisy Lemon. All of the town is super excited and everyone wants to get close to Daisy. Roxy, owner of The Bean Hive, was asked to provide coffee and desserts to the crew. Roxy’s Aunt Maxi, who is providing an article for People magazine, is busy snapping pictures.
When Daisy asks to meet Roxy at The Bean Hive, because she wants to try Roxy’s new special, Star Studded Latte. After Daisy leaves, Roxy decides to try to get a picture of her enjoying the Star Studded Latte, but instead becomes a witness to Daisy being kidnapped.
Now Honey Springs is all abuzz about Roxy’s new special, referring to it as the Kidnap Latte. That doesn’t bode with with Roxy.
When Daisy was kidnapped, she was wearing seven million dollars worth of jewelry.
When it was let out of the bag that Roxy was a lawyer, Stephen Lemon, immediately referred to Roxy as his lawyer. Roxy finds herself defending Stephen, which means being involved in the case much to Patrick’s (Roxy’s husband) displeasure.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
It’s been a few months since Roxy and Patrick’s wedding. INnHoney Springs a movie has been filed and who witnesses the kidnapping of the star? You got it Roxy! People are already calling her place “Kidnap Latte”.
Loved the story with all the twits and turns you won’t be able to guess until the end who did what.
The characters from past books come into play but each book can be read as a standalone.
A star is in town and of course Roxy is the one to see her get kidnapped. She is on the case and Patrick (love him) her husband, doesn’t want her to be. I love how he so wants to protect her but lets her be her. The mystery has twists and turns and more than one case to solve. Love the town, her crazy aunt, and their fur babies.
A Killer Latte is Book 6 is the absolutely fantastic sizzling Killer Coffee Series.
Welcome back to Honey Springs, my favorite small town in Kentucky. There is a lot of excitement due to a Hollywood movie being filmed right in Honey Springs! Roxy is right in the mist of another (several) mysteries that she is determined to solve.
The plot was masterfully crafted with several surprises. The author manages to pull off several different intertwined mysteries expertly done leaving you guessing until the very end.
The characters are lovable and relateable and the cast of supporting characters sneak into your heart in a way you don’t expect.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the recipes included in the book. I am from New England and when the author described the Kentucky Benedictine Tea Sandwiches I really wanted one! I am definitely trying this recipe as well as the Blueberry Crumb Cake! YUMMM!
I truly cannot wait for the next book in the Killer Coffee Series.
Tonya Kappes is an amazing storyteller. Roxy once again finds herself in the thick of things, and Patrick is not happy about it. I like the characters, and the descriptions. The different directions this book took kept and held my interest. I didn’t know who the culprit was until it was revealed. I highly recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.
I love this series and this book didn’t disappoint. I got to the end and wanted more. I love Roxy and Patrick and everyone in Honey Springs and can’t wait to read about more happenings in this town. Great mystery starts off with stolen phone books and then a kidnapping. Lots of suspects. Lots of twists and turns. Roxy is smart and most definitely witty. Lots of laugh out loud moments. I definitely didn’t see what came at the end.
The 6th book in the Killer Coffee cozy mystery series was just as enjoyable as the previous ones. A murder happens while a movie crew is in town and Roxy’s again trying to solve it. This time to save the reputation of her Bean Hive coffee shop. It’s full of enjoyable characters and the little town of Honey Springs. You’ll enjoy trying to figure out whodunit right up until the end. Read one and you’ll be back for more.
“Hollywood Kidnap Lattes.” Will Roxy find the missing actress? Looking forward to the next book in this series to see what Roxy gets herself into next.
Pick up this book and return to Honey Springs, Kentucky in this sixth story of Tonya Kappes Killer Coffee Mystery Series. This time Roxy Bloom and her friends have been caught up in the excitement of a movie being filmed in town. Roxy’s coffeehouse, the Bean Hive, has been providing sweets and coffee to the crew and has been asked to serve refreshments at the wrap party.
Popular actress Daisy Lemon, star of the film, stops in to ask Roxy for a latte and a quiche before the party. She is kidnapped shortly after leaving the shop. Tension quickly builds as Spencer, the town sheriff, begins to question people in hopes of getting clues as to who took her.
Ms. Kappes does an excellent job of leading the reader down various paths that might lead to the kidnapper. All seem very plausible until something new comes to light and lets us know that road leads to a dead end. About the time you think you are sure you’ve figured it out, the plot makes a sudden twist and takes you (at least it did me) to a surprise ending.
The author once again draws us into her familiar southern setting and finds a way to keep us guessing. I love her very realistic characters and after having read several books in this series feel like a visit to Honey Springs is like going home and spending time with old friends. I think that A Killer Latte is my favorite in the Killer Coffee series so far. Each story can be read as a standalone, but I think they are even better once you get to “know” the residents of Honey Springs.
Don’t forget to check out the recipes at the end. This reader found the Lemon Cookies and Blueberry Crumb Cake recipes made my mouth water just looking at them.
Great story
A movie crew has come to town and has the people of Lake Honey Springs all a buzz. That is until the movie wraps up and their star, Daisy Lemon is kidnapped. Social media paints Honey Springs, namely The Bean Hive, in a bad light. Roxy must find Daisy before her shop starts losing customers. This book had me guessing. I laughed, cried and couldn’t put the book down until I knew what happened. Another slam dunk!!
I like to jump into one of Tonya Kappes mysteries, the characters are so entertaining and the animals, so sweet! The mystery was meaty and entertaining. Book #6 is just as fun, and engrossing as the ones that came before it. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys cozy mystery.
Tonya Kappes has another incredible book. I loved A Killer Latte! This is a fantastic book! I love the characters. Roxy is wonderful and smart. The mystery is interesting and has so many twists. The book captures your attention and holds you until done. I could not put the book down. I love this book series!
