Another fantastic cozy mystery from Kappes!! A trip to the Bean Hive in Honey Springs is always an adventure with this not being an exception. We are at the wrap up of the filming of a movie in town with the star making a special trip to get one of the Star-Studded lattes created just for the occasion. Just after leaving she gets kidnapped which leads to one interesting story as the latte is now the Kidnap latte and more making it necessary to investigate to save the business (though apparently even bad publicity can bring in customers as we get to see). Just when you think it is all wrapped up we get some more leading to the heart warming conclusion. Perfect for cozy fans especially if you happen to love some great coffee. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
A Killer Latte: A Cozy Mystery is the 6th book in Tonya Kappes’ Killer Coffee series. The small town of Honey Springs, Kentucky is one of my favorite vicarious vacation spots. I feel right at home during visits Roxy, Aunt Maxi, Patrick and their other friends is time well spent. The characters are well developed and exude Southern charm complete with the classic family love, bickering and lots of humor. The plot is tightly woven with numerous twists and turns without losing sight of the main mystery. Visualize the amount of chaos when a movie is filmed in a small town. Daisy Lemon, the star of the movie is kidnapped as she leaves the Bean Hive with her latte. In addition to the kidnapping, stolen hotel phone books, $7 million dollars in jewels are missing and a $400,000 ransom is demanded. What more could happen? You will need to read this engaging cozy mystery to learn the answer to that question. Recipes are included. The Blueberry Crumb Cake is very tasty. This book can be read as a stand-alone story, but I would recommend reading the series starting with the first book and Ms. Kappes has maintained an additional thread which connects each book of this series. This is one of my favorite series penned by Ms. Kappes. I would recommend this book (and series) to readers who enjoy a well written cozy mystery filled with humor and quirky characters that will have you laughing out loud.

Review:
Any time I get to spend time with Roxy, Aunt Maxi, Patrick and all of Roxy’s other friends is time well spent. I love the relationships between all of them, you can tell how much they care about each other. The bickering and banter between them makes me laugh.
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and always creates settings that I want to visit. The southern charm and traditions always shine through. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read.
The mystery was well plotted and carried well throughout the book. It was well paced and not easily solved. There were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider and a few red herrings thrown in just for fun!
I would recommend this book (and series) to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. And if you enjoy southern charm and lots of laughs, this book is for you.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and and I have given this honest review.
A Killer Latte is another engaging installment in A Killer Coffee Mystery series. If you have not read any of the other five books in this entertaining cozy mystery series, you will not be lost. Everything a reader needs to know if included (but I recommend reading the whole series). Honey Springs is a quaint Southern town with friendly characters, charming shops, and a gorgeous lake. Roxy Bloom, owner of the Bean Hive, has been busy supplying coffee and treats to the film crew plus the Cocoon Hotel and keeping the coffee shop in stock. Her husband, Patrick, is pushing for them to make a decision regarding the home he purchased from Aunt Maxi. Roxy does not want to live in the beautiful home, but she does not want to sell it either (quite a conundrum). The film crew has been staying at Camey Montgomery’s Cocoon Hotel, and she is distressed that all the phone books in the hotel have gone missing. She wants Spencer Shepard, the sheriff, to find the culprit. Unfortunately for Camey, Spencer finds himself busy looking for Daisy Lemon’s kidnapper who wants a $400,000 ransom. Loretta (pronounced Law-retta) is in an uproar because Daisy was wearing $7 million dollars in jewels when she was taken, and Loretta was not aware that she needed to get the production company to sign an agreement (oh no). Roxy is soon up to her nose in another investigation which has Patrick upset (poor Roxy). I like Tonya Kappes’ conversational writing style which makes for an easy to read story that draws the reader right in. The story has a good flow and upbeat pacing. The mystery is multifaceted which I just loved. Just when you think you have it figured out, a twist is thrown your way. There are plenty of curveballs in this whodunit. Readers will find themselves laughing often at some of the characters antics (like Aunt Maxi). There are some adorable pets in A Killer Latte including a cat that needs a forever home. There are recipes at the end of the book for Star-Studded Latte, Easy Peasy Lemon Cookies, Blueberry Crumb Cake and Kentucky Benedictine Tea Sandwiches. A Killer Latte has scrumptious food, good friends, a picturesque Southern town, mouthwatering coffee, a puzzling mystery, quirky characters and adorable fur babies.
This is a great book; this is book 6 in the Killer Coffee series written by Tonya Kappes. A film production crew is wrapping up a major movie filming in Honey Springs, Kentucky. Everyone is excited. The production crew has brought the bright lights to the tourist town and The Bean Hive has been supplying the production crew with unlimited treats and coffee. When film actress Daisy Lemon comes in for a taste of the Star Studded Latte being served at the Bean Hive, Roxy Bloom is excited to serve her one. It would be good for promotion for Roxy to get a photo of the famous actress drinking her creation, only Roxy is witness to Daisy’s kidnapping. The Star Studded Latte is now know as the Kidnap Latte, bringing national attention to the Bean Hive, attention that’s not necessarily welcome. This is a great book with well-developed characters. Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to put the book down until the end. I can’t wait to read then next book by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Honey Springs and Roxie Bloom, a former lawyer turned coffeehouse owner, host this latest installment of murder, mystery, and mayhem and it does not disappoint. Kidnapping, missing jewels, and ransom take you into this book and embrace you so you feel as though you are there. No spoilers in this review but here’s what’s important for you to know: Tonya Kappes always provides us with a wonderful read, in the form of a fast-paced page-turner with twists and turns interspersed with the fun interactions of the quirky cast of characters in this small tourist town, with the setting being a coffee house. There is no shortage of suspects or fun and action in this cozy that will have you laughing out loud, while you try and guess who the murderer is. This can be read as a standalone, so if this is your first go with this series or author, you can catch on quickly, then, trust me on this, you’ll want to go back and read the rest! Get this book now, a must read for any cozy mystery lover.
Roxy and the town of Honey Springs have been hosting a film production crew including actress Daisy Lemon. It has brought a ton of tourists to the town and The Bean Hive has been supplying unlimited amounts of treats and coffee. In honor of the event, Roxy even created a Star-Studded Latte which has caught the eye of Daisy. However, what started as promotional opportunity, including a photo of Daisy drinking Roxy’s creation turns into Daisy being kidnapped. The papers are now calling Roxy’s creation the Kidnap Latte.
Now the production crew is stuck in town and Daisy’s husband, Stephen, is considered a suspect in the kidnapping. Roxy puts on her lawyer hat and decides to investigate the crime to clear Stephen’s name and bring order back to her cozy hometown.
I really love this series and Roxy has to be one of my favorite amateur sleuths. The author has a writing style that captivates her audience and leaving them asking “when is the next book in the series coming out?” This is a cozy mystery filled with quirky characters, humor, mystery, action, and adventure all rolled into one.
A Killer Latte by Tonya Kappes is the sixth entry in her Killer Coffee Series. Although the reading experience is greatly improved by reading the Series in order, as I’ve missed a couple, I can absolutely say you can still enjoy the book without all of the backstory (but you can bet I’ll be catching myself up!).
Roxy Bloom Cane is in her element, designing new coffees for her little town of Honey Springs, Kentucky, and the tourists that come through during the summer to play on Lake Honey Springs. But there’s more than just tourists in town!
Daisy Lemon, screen star, is in town with her husband and his production company filming a movie in Honey Springs. Roxy has even developed a specialty Latte in celebration of the film crews presence, The Star-Studded Latte.
But just as the film is wrapping and everyone is looking forward to the wrap party, tragedy strikes, and Roxy finds herself in the middle of another mystery.
As with everything I’ve read from Tonya Kappes, this is a top-notch story, with a detailed world, fun and funny characters, and great mystery. Another well-earned 5-star read.
WHAT’S IN YOUR LATTE?
Kappes takes readers on their 6th adventure to delightful Honey Springs in A Killer Latte. A movie is being made using the picturesque town as it’s background. Everything is going great … until the beautiful star stops by the Bean Hive Coffeehouse for a “Star Studded Latte”. This would be a great promotion for anyone & Roxy seizes the opportunity for a photo op! As she’s walking towards the lake, Roxy becomes witness to crime that changes everything. Her “Star Studded Latte” becomes known as the “Killer Latte” and Roxy’s not about to let her reputation be ruined! One thing for sure, Roxy ALWAYS solves her crimes! You can always count on Kappes for a wonderfully, entertaining cozy mystery and this one is no exception! I was provided an ARC of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
In this next book of the series Hollywood has come to town. They are at the end of their filming and are thanking the town for all their help when the movies star, Daisy, is kidnapped. No one recognizes the truck that she was abducted in which makes figuring out who the kidnapper is that much harder. When a ransom text is sent to the stars husband for a very low amount it doesn’t quite make sense especially when she was wearing millions of dollars worth of jewelry. Why didn’t the kidnapper just snatch that? Roxy witnessed the deed and her shop is now experiencing and influx of costumers wanting to try the latte that Daisy was drinking when she was taken. Roxy hates the bad light that seems to have befallen her drink and hopes to figure out who took the young woman. Meanwhile the local B&B owner is upset over a bunch of stolen telephone books. Who uses a telephone book anymore? Isn’t a kidnapping more important than some lost books anyway? Follow along as Roxy starts putting the pieces together and comes up with the answers on her own. I bet you’ll be as shocked as I was in the end. This was such a fun read with a cast of lovely characters that will have you wanting to take a trip to the south.
A kidnapped actress? What is going on in Honey Springs, Kentucky?!
A Killer Latte by Tonya Kappes is a marvelous book filled with homespun characters and mysterious happenings. Ms. Kappes has delivered yet another excellent novel set in her small towns of Kentucky.
What I like
• The way that Ms. Kappes wrote for the last day shoot of the movie for the first little bit of the book.
• The sheriff is letting Roxy help with the kidnapping of the actress.
• Roxy is really into animals, and the kitten that the animal shelter brings by is so cute.
• Patrick lets her get into the middle of things despite not liking it.
• Roxy is a still practicing lawyer, besides being a coffee shop owner, which is different from the other cozies that I have read of Ms. Kappes and its a good twist.
What I dislike
There isn’t much that I disliked about the book. I thought it was well thought out and that it had a happy ending.
Five Stars
A Killer Latte by Tonya Kappes is the latest book in her A Killer Coffee Mystery series, and it’s a superb one. I loved every bit of it. I am giving this book a rating of five stars and recommending it to all cozy mystery lovers out there. Oh, and if you like mysteries with a Southern flare, you will love this one as well.
Bonus, this novel also comes with recipes from Ms. Kappes’s recipe box. They all sound amazing. Ms. Kappes has another fabulous book for all of us.

The movies have come to town! Lemon Productions are wrapping up their latest movie starring Daisy Lemon. This woman is full of secrets, and Aunt Maxi is determined to find all of them for a piece in People magazine. Roxy gets dragged into all the mysteries, missing phonebooks, a missing movie star, and a missing Aunt Maxi. She’s trying to be good for Patrick, but she just can’t help herself, there are cases to be solved and she firmly believes the cops can’t solve them without her!
A Killer Latte is the 6th book in the Killer Coffee series! Tonya Kappes has written another winner in the series. The book is filled to the brim with southern charm, adorable and likable characters, and a killer mystery! I have been a long time fan of the authors writing- she always weaves the perfect tale in her cozy mysteries- and know I will continue to love every book she releases. Her books are like long time friends to me; I miss them when I’m not reading them and am so excited when I see them!
If you’re a cozy mystery fan, I would recommend this series and book!
OK, “Sicholas Narks” – now that’s why I read this author – she is just so funny! It automatically puts you in a good mood when you read one of her books. I love the Bean Hive coffeeshop that Roxy has created- it sounds like a good place to grab a bite, the latest gossip in town and, of course, coffee! I can just picture the cute little shops on the boardwalk thanks to the author’s descriptive writing style. You can’t go wrong with this series – Roxy’s adventures are very entertaining. There was quite a twist in this one – another thing I like about the author’s books – it’s not always what you think it’s going to be. I’m going to try some of those recipes in the back of the book too – yum!
Hollywood comes to Honey Springs
A film crew is shooting a movie in Honey Springs staring beautiful Daisy Lemon and everyone in town is excited. Even Roxy Bloom, owner of the Bean Hive, is caught up in the excitement. Not only has she been asked to provide coffee and sweets to the film crew, she created a special latte named after Daisy called The Star Studded Latte. Right after “it’s a wrap” is called, Daisy asks Roxy to make her one of those specialty lattes, but asks her to keep it a secret. But no sooner than leaving the Bean Hive, Daisy is kidnapped along with several millions dollars worth of jewelry.
Since Roxy was the last to see Daisy she feel responsible to help in finding her. There are a lot of red herrings and more than one mystery to solve in this sixth of this series. But each book is a stand alone, full of quirky characters, a good play on words for the town shops and always a great mystery to solve. I received an ARC for my honest review.
A Killer Latte is the 6th book in the A Killer Coffee Mystery series by Tonya Kappes.
This is another wonderful visit to Honey springs to visit old friends. They don’t always get along or agree with each other, but they pull together in tough times.
A movie is being filmed in Honey Springs and everyone is caught up in it. The lead actress is kidnapped and chaos ensues. Roxy ends up putting her lawyer hat on and starts investigating.
I was surprised by the ending and am looking forward to the next book.
I received this book as a gift and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
A Killer Latte is another exciting installment in Kappe’s Killer Coffee Mystery series. The town of Honey Springs finds itself enjoying the fact that a production company is filming a major movie in their little town. Roxy is thrilled that her coffee house is an important part of the filming by providing coffee and sweets. When the leading actress, Daisy, is kidnapped after ordering a special latte from The Bee Hive, Roxy is determined to solve the case to save her business from looking bad for selling a “killer” drink.
Kappes does a great job at setting up a good mystery that captures the reader’s attention from the very beginning. Roxy also faces some personal challenges as her investigation causes some conflict in her marriage, and with her aunt determined to write a major news story, Roxy finds herself worried about her aunt as well. Kappes does a great job at using this familial conflict to get Roxy to come to some conclusions about her own life and priorities. I also really loved all the secondary characters in the story and felt that they added to the enjoyment of the story. Overall A Killer Latte proved to be an entertaining read that I would most definitely recommend. I look forward to reading Roxy’s next adventure.
Received a copy of A Killer Latte from the author in exchange for my honest review.

A Killer Latte is book six in the Killer Coffee Mystery series. The twists and turns will keep you guessing who kidnapped Daisy. Can Roxy figure it out? This one was a fun one to read, and I really enjoyed it.
