In New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Kresley Cole’s sizzling series, a fierce werewolf and a bewitching vampire become unlikely soul mates whose passion will test the boundaries of life and death. After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he’s waited millennia for is a vampire. Or … is a vampire. Or partly one. Emmaline Troy is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.
Sheltered Emmaline finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents–until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae–and their notorious dark desires–ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.
Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

I picked this one up to fulfill the Fated Mates challenge in the Romance-opoly 2019 reading challenge. I decided on this one because IAD has been talked about a lot on twitter due to the Fated Mates podcast.
They weren’t wrong when they said this was a bit crazy-pants. There was a lot going on. I liked how we were introduced to the world through …

I first read A Hunger Like No Other back March 2010, and never wrote up a review on it because during this time I was still in the Navy. My schedule was chaotic, so I couldn’t stay up at night …
When I first encountered A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole, I couldn’t believe how awesome it was. The drama and tension between the characters is fantastically portrayed, and the character arcs, as each main character comes into his or her own, are heart rending.
I have read this book over and over again since discovering it, at least a …

I’ve read almost every book in this series including this one and have never been disappointed. She’s a wonderful storyteller and her characters have a lot of depth.
Love this series
Loved this book
This was cute! Without giving away spoilers, I was more than a little concerned about the relationship dynamic in the beginning and where it was going. But Emma gets Lachlan to wake up and back the hell off and it was a lot better after that. I really enjoyed these characters and watching their relationship grow, even if Emma got on my nerves a …
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this because of my aversion to werewolves. These aren’t your mother’s werewolves, though… the Immortals After Dark series is fun and crazy and romantic, and as odd as gnawing off your foot to get to the love of your life is, it totally makes sense in this world. I listened to the audiobook, and Robert Petkoff is amazing.
Incredibly fun
