I loved this book and it’s twists and turns!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really like this author’s writing.
good beach reading!
moved too slowly…hard to stay interested
Writing was repetitive. Story was interesting enough but constant repetition of character trait description “enormous hands” was a bit annoying.
It was well written and I had a hard time putting it down.
A woeful soap opera about uninteresting people doing stupid things so their lives can be tortured. Even the “sister” of the protagonist is annoying. Couldn’t finish this sorry tale.
I love this author but this is not her best book. She admits in her afterword that she re-wrote the book several times and I think that shows. That said, “A Hundred Summers” is still a good read.
This was a good book. It kept me wondering about a few storylines, but I kind of figured it out by the end. Somewhat predictable, but definitely readable.
Very good book hard to put down.
Couldn’t put it down!
I enjoy the way the story was constructed.
This lead me to buy another book about the great hurricane of 1938
Totally unexpected. Couldn’t put this one down. Characters were relatable, especially for the time period. The ending left me surprised because, although there was closure, wasn’t sure if it was the kind I’d prefer.
GOOD STORY —PEOPLE FINERLY A HAPPY ENDING
Truly a great beach read! I felt like I was in another world (one thing I cow to from a phenomenal book). A must read!!
This book offers that rarest of combinations – characters that are both human and heroic. I loved it.
This book was easy to read however the characters were stereotyped. They were “black and white”, good or bad. I liked the time period and that it was based on a true event.
Interesting book and characters, spent too long on the island though.
Beach read…predictable beginning and end..but entertaining.
