A funny cozy mystery series full of bold women, a quirky and lovable town, and one seriously hopeless romance. It’s been one helluva morning… And Hope hasn’t even found the body. At least not yet. After a twelve year absence, investigative reporter Hope Walker is back home in Hopeless, Idaho. And it’s not going well. It seems the town and its citizens haven’t changed much.Still weird. Still nosy. … citizens haven’t changed much.
Still weird. Still nosy. And a few of them? Downright hateful.
And now Hope has a serious problem.
Because one of the hateful is dead. And she’s the prime suspect.

Likable characters and excellent use of jargon
It’s not a bad book. I think that after two books, I should feel for the characters, I should have a pick of the two possible boyfriends, but I don’t. These books just don’t draw me in. Hope doesn’t really solve the mystery as much as trip and fall into the middle of it. Who gets kidnapped that much?
A nice read that was really mystery.
an absolute bore.
I love a mystery that makes you laugh out loud at the overthe top antics of people in a small town.
Intrepid reporter, Hope, is driving home after 12 long years for her Granny’s funeral. Hope is sad about Granny but excited as she has a major crime story on the front page and maybe a Pulitzer coming later on.
But life and cookies crumble and not only is there no news story but no job and to top it off, her Granny’s death might have been reported wrong.
Meet Hope in the town of Hopeless where the sheriff is hated by everyone, her best friend is still angry after 12yrs, and her old enemy has a handsome fiancee…life bites.
Between Granny, Bess, the mayor, sheriff and wife Margaret, Katie and more. Hope is just trying to find a job and ends up finding bodies.
Using pancakes, bacon and a ketchup bottle, as people at a crime scene lets you know this mystery is a bit unique!! 4.8 stars for a first book with wonderful people, a doozy of a mystery, great clues and some wonderful lines that just crack you up and you want to remember and use to sound as funny and crazy as this town is….hope nobody finds this place, lets keep it just the way it is.
A cozy cottage mystery with humor, depth and heartfelt moments.
Above the normal who done it very good.
a great read unable to put down
It was ok a little too whimsical no depth to the characters boring in spot.
Enjoyed! Can’t wait for the next in the series
I loved it! Can’t wait for the next in the series to be released later this month. I pre-ordered already. 🙂 sw
Couldn’t put it down.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the author writing.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and cannot believe a man is writing it. The lead role(s) are all females. The wit and bantering back and forth is funny, and a breath of fresh air and reminds me of being with my own family and friends. The stories are original (although quite a few dead bodies are showing up in this little town) and just when I think I have figured out who the bad guy/girl is, it is someone different. These stories are clean and fun, with a hot guy to make them that much more likable. I highly recommend for an easy, laugh out loud, relaxing read.
I am looking forward to Book 4. Read the first three within a week!
It shows how persistence pays off.
Strong female character, fun read.
Keeps you guessing at very turn. Fun characters. A good who dun it. You won’t know until the end.
Fun read
Fun first cozy from that rare bird, the male cozy writer. I like his style and look forward to more.
Interesting? YES! So many suspects. Can you guess who really did it?
Enjoyed the easy to read interesting story.
