Investigative reporter Hope Walker returns to her hometown only to find she’s a prime suspect in a local murder.
An engaging central character, a plot that kept me guessing to the end, and laugh out loud hilarity.
Overall, a lovely mix of mystery, small town reality and humor.
With the main character named Hope and her headed to a town called Hopeless, I really wondered what kind of a book this was going to be!! I loved meeting her quirky grandma and many of the other characters. The story had enough twists and turns in it to keep it interesting all the way through to the end!
A fun who did it in a small town with quirky characters, will continue with the series.
I couldn’t finish it.
I read a lot of ebooks and most of them are full of typos and bad sentence structure. “A Hopeless Murder” was the best edited ebook that I’ve read in a while, which makes it easier to read and more satisfying. The story and characters were entertaining and it was a perfect read for a cold winter day with a hot cuppa.
Didn’t finish
I loved putting Hope into Hopeless. I want to meet crazy Granny. The book is filled with antithetical characters, scenes, situations, and emotions. Loved it.
Good for beach reading. Kept me interested enough to finish and would read another by this author.
I am enjoying this series.
A woman goes back to her hometown after getting fired from her job. She finds the body of the town sheriff in her grandmother’s bar. She and her best friend decide to investigate after she gets considered a suspect.
I liked this book and would enjoy reading more in the series.
Better-written than many similar cozy mysteries (better grammar, vocabulary, editing, etc.)!
Kept us guessing until the last few pages who did it.
So Enjoyable I bought the series.
A cozy mystery that shares many aspects of the genre. Woman returns to home town. Woman solves murder or two. Woman gets hint (or more) of a pending romance. All’s well that ends well.
Good read. Loved the grandma.
Quirky, likable characters. I wanted to read more, so, I purchased the remaining books in the series.
Harmless. No way this woman would have ever won a Pulitzer. No wonder she was fired.
Great characters.
Easy reading without detailed crime violence.
