Mary Morgan once again weaves her spell and grabs your attention from start to finish. Desmond and Ailsa’s story is heartwarming and sweet. I already liked Desmond from previous stories, however he definitely gained my heart this time around. He has vowed to never fall in love and allow a woman to break his heart. Ailsa is a warrior and wants only to lead her clan at her father’s side until the day she can take over. She certainly has no room for a man in her life. However fate has a little twist for both of them. I absolutely love Mary Morgan’s stories and look forward to each one as they are always rich with multi layered plots. I will never tire of hearing about the Dragon Knights and look forward to more stories including them and their families. Thank you Ms Morgan for another compelling story!
Once again this is my favorite. (that’s what I always feel after one of these stories book or audio)
Ailisa and her father begin the sad journey to fulfill her mother’s last wish. To take her ashes to the lock and the last great dragon. It is a dangerous journey in the winter weather and storm. The one good thing for Ailisa is the delay of her father announcing who she must marry to prepare for when she takes over the leadership of their Isle. It isn’t that she is opposed to a husband, but she wants one that she loves and desires not who will try to wrest leadership from her and one she can’t stand to have touch her.
Desmond visits his sister and sees the kind of love and feelings she has for her husband (despite the differences he has with the Dragon Knight). He doesn’t want a wife. He’s never felt that way about any woman—until the beautiful, wounded woman takes him on. She’s come for help after being sent away by her father to find help. She’d rather have stayed to do battle, however, their party is badly outnumbered and what they plan for her is not just a battle.
Desmond convinces her he will help them and sends for help before going with her. She didn’t show her own injuries until she falls unconscious. Once Desmond has her in his arms he begins to understand feeling more for a woman.
The two have all the feelings both would want in a partner but they live far away from each other and are returning to their separate homes too soon. He doesn’t feel worthy of being a leader. Her husband should be one of her own from the Isle.
They try to ignore their feelings for all the reasons they should but both now understand the feelings of love they see in others. Will unknown dangers take her from him?
The audio is so good with the Scottish narrator who does a great job. The story is a combination of magic and history as well as a beautiful love with strong characters and plenty of steam. Fans get to visit with old friends from previous stories although they are good to see again, the book does stand alone. I strongly recommend this book and all the others in her series.
I just love the Order of the Dragon Knight series so much. I loved Fiona’s brothers from book 3 and was so excited to not only get to dive back into the magical world of the Dragon Knights but to see Desmond get his story. I loved both Desmond and Ailsa. Both were warriors and protectors. Both respected each other for who they truly were. They had a great connection and lots of steamy passion. I also loved getting to catch up with some of the past Dragon Knight couples. I will say that I still hope that Mary Morgan gives Brigid and Duncan a miracle baby. I know Brigid can’t have babies and they adopted Nell and Finn but I really would love to see them have a little baby. That being said I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read Fiona’s other two brothers books and maybe Finn will get a book too.
Revisit the World of the Dragon Knights in this tale with Desmond and Ailsa. This author spins stories that take the reader to another time with excellent story lines and page turners.
Mary’s books are such a delight, so full of dragons, magic, time travel and Fae. To read one of her books is to step into another world and be immersed in the wonder of romance and fantasy.
This story is back in the world of Dragon Knights and Fenian Warriors. The Fae has allowed family to visit. Desmond is visiting with his sister Fiona, who has married Alastair MacKay, Dragon Knight. Desmond is not so comfortable with his new In-Laws and so Fiona has requested an extended visit for him to work this out. While there Bran MacDuff and his only daughter and heir, Ailsa are traveling through on their way to the Loch to scatter her mother’s ashes. Alisa is also special having the ability to sense storms. Bran will not acknowledge a daughter has been given one of his lines special gifts since it goes to the males of the line while the females are gifted with healing. Along their journey they find themselves in an epic struggle against evil that requires Desmond and Alistair to work together to aid the MacDuffs.
Loved going back into Mary’s magical world and living their adventure with the characters. Thank you Mary and Wild Rose Press for the free ARC for an unbiased review.
I just love visiting the Order of the Dragon Knights and A Highland Moon Enchantment enchanted me from beginning to end with wonderful characters full of depth and a steamy romance.
Desmond and Alisa make a charming couple full of electricity and charisma that pulls readers in and refuses to let go. Their romance is full of emotional turbulence and fire of a heated attraction that readers can certainly enjoy while the couple face the greatest challenge of their life which of course is one of their hearts making. Alisa is a daring character that I quite enjoyed getting to know because she certainly is not only a warrior but also very much a woman who knows her own heart and mind.
The story is full of thrills and adventure which keeps readers entertained from the very beginning while the author paints some vivid imagery that makes it easy for the reader to get caught up in the historical highland imagery. With danger and betrayals creating unexpected turns in the story, readers easily become engrossed and if they are like me, they will refuse to put the book down until every last world has been read.
A Highland Moon Enchantment is a great addition to the Order of the Dragon Knights series by Mary Morgan and since the Dragon Knights are quite sexy and heat up every page, it stands to reason that any warrior that can stand alongside them would be sexy and make a story well worth reading.
What a wonderful novella from Mary Morgan. An addition to her Dragon Knights series, this one brings Desmond O’Quintan and Alisa MacDuff together, who have been mentioned in other books .Desmond has always been a fierce warrior and has no plans to give his heart to any woman. But as fate often steps in, he is enchanted with Alisa when he sees her. Alisa on the other hand is a warrior in her own clan and have no desire for a man. These two are destined for each other but the journey is not an easy one. The author brings such richness to this story with her strong character building and descriptions of the beauty of Scotland. Magic is woven into this story and a battle ensures for good and evil. You will be pulled into the story until the last page. But know that there may be more great books to come! This novella can be read as a standalone so prepare to be entertained!
Do you like fantasy, dragons, true love, time travel, and men of honor with women of like ilk? You’ll love this series!
This novella, however longer than most, is a most pleasurable return to the world of the Dragon Knights. Having enjoyed the complete series, I read with eagerness.
Morgan entertains, mixing fantasy with men of honor, who find their other halves in women of strength, compassion, and fortitude. One of the many twists is the women are from the future or have lived much of their lives there. So if you are a time travel fan, this series would interest you.
Morgan’s descriptive world-building, set in a plot propelled with twists and surprises is totally engrossing. When I’ve had the pleasure of listening to her books, the narrator captures the humor, the pacing of the story and its various accents.
In this tale, we reacquaint ourselves with the O’Quinlan brothers from Dragon Knight’s Axe, book 3 of the series. Desmond’s sister, Fiona, is married to Alastair MacKay. The Fae have something to do, okay a lot to do, with pulling strings in the magical mists. Much is at stake for them, as you get to discover.
Anyway, Desmond doesn’t get along with Alastair, adding an element of challenge to the story. Desmond O’Quinlan, an Irish warrior, deals with a further challenge – his attraction of the independent woman, Ailsa MacDuff, also a warrior among her people.
Ailsa is the heir to the Ailsa Craig. She is a woman who can take care of herself, but in certain situations, she’s more than thankful for aid from Desmond.
Desmond is pulled into the deepening struggle the Fae, Fenian Warrior and Dragon Knights have ahead of them. He has been chosen (by the Fae, hence he doesn’t know) to be a leader of warriors to battle what surely will be an epic battle of wills.
Join Morgan as she pulls us into the fairyland of Fae, Fenian Warriors, strong and gifted women along with their men, who must combat great evil. If you haven’t started the series, it’s time to start because the second series is tied to the first. I, frankly, am overjoyed!
