I usually don’t like audiobooks that are read by the author, but this one was an easy listen. This is not primarily a book about Trump and his administration. It is a book about the values that we should aspire to in our country- values such as truth, integrity, loyalty and honesty. Comey reflects on examples of how he has tried to incorporate these values in his own life, while he is mindful of his own flaws. Great leadership requires internalizing these values, always being mindful of the big picture rather than short-term desires, and openness to listening to and accommodating the points of view and opinions of others. Jim Comey is not a politician and may not have any desire to become one, but I can imagine him as a statesmanand that seems to be a dying breed in our government.
An amazing, eye-opening, book by an intelligent, insightful author. James Comey is brutally honest and an extremely good writer. Can’t recommend this book enough!
Excellent! Everyone should read this along with Madeleine Albright’s book on Fascism! Both are relevant and important to current times.
Outstanding. Truly elevating morally and spiritual in the belief that these are still high minded intelligent people in the world. Full of great quotable lines. I don’t usually read non-fiction. Could hardly put it down.
Whether you agree or disagree with James Comey and how he handled things during the 2016 election cycle, I find him to be an honest man of high integrity. A man who at times teeters on the edge of arrogance, but who I believe has always tried to do the right thing. Even beyond his time with the FBI and all that has transpired since the last election, he has a pretty extraordinary story to tell about his life.
Very well written, informative book. I don’t usually care for nonfiction books, especially books about politics, but Mr. Comey did a great job making this book interesting. I have a better understanding of a number of events over a 20 year span.
I was surprised to find that this book is much more than a take-down on President Donald Trump. This is Jim Comey’s professional journey with issues dealing with mob gangsters in New York City and working agains terror tactics by the George W. Bush presidency. He has been a key player in many of the issues of our time, through three different administrations.
This is an outstanding book! It is very well written and grabbed my attention from beginning to end. Definitely recommend!
Government insider shares what happened behind the scenes and newspaper stories, some of which he may have been the source. While thee author has some character flaws, he shared the flaws of many of our elected officials. His handling of the Clinton files probably cost her the election.
Whiny self-serving attempt to justify unforgivable behavior.
Must be a joke
This book was informative, but somehow I felt Comey was presenting himself as almost too good for us to believe. I think it is tragic that he was fired for not doing the president’s bidding. I am afraid for our government’s system of checks and balances.
Goebbels would be proud of this propaganda. one of the best distortions of truth in this century. But truth will rule out. Read it and weep that a man could reach such a powerful position in our government.
Horrible! What at egotist.
An integral part of today’s politics.
An eye-opening exposure to the Irish/English “troubles” , 1960’s through the 80’s, which was virtually a civil war.
It’s always good to hear from the person mentioned weekly by the President.
It´s excellent I started to cry when I read it
The first part of this book, dealing with Comey’s autobiography, is well-written. Unfortunately, once he gets into his interaction with Trump, there is no real news to anybody whose news sources go beyond Fox News. The book is readable, and I suspect Mr. Comey worked on it for some time before politics put him in the forefront of the 24-hour news cycle.
This was a super informative book. It is current and insightful. I think it is a book that should be read by all Americans interested in what is going on in our White House.
