“A tantalyzing paranormal romance, full of mystery and intrigue. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Sign me up for book two!” –Nichole Chase, NYT Bestselling author of The Dark Betrayal Trilogy

A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mysterious manuscript he’s hunted for over five hundred years. He never … years. He never expected a young student librarian could be the key to unlock its secrets, nor could he have predicted the danger she would attract.
Now he and Beatrice De Novo follow a twisted maze that leads from the archives of a university library, though the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a confrontation hundreds of years in the making.
History and the paranormal collide in A Hidden Fire, the first book in the bestselling Elemental Mysteries series and semifinalist in the Kindle Book Review’s Best Indie Books of 2012.

Loved it! This is the first book of Elizabeth’s that I read and she has quickly become my favorite author!
Just the perfect mix of supernatural, believability and romance. I didn’t find myself second guessing the events or growing tired of a live story that overstayed it’s welcome.
I felt the sea air, smelled the library and tasted the whiskey along with the characters
Love it. First book in one of my favorite ever series. The world building is solid. The romance is amazing.
Intriguing book with twists here and there. You have to like the paranormal to enjoy the book. Although it stands on its own, it’s obviously also the first of a series, and it leaves some unfinished business.
Wow. Just wow…
4.5
Great characters…could not put this down. Giovanni the ultimate man who happens to be a vampire with ethics as needed. Makes you want to swoon.
I liked it well enough to buy the rest of the series.
Read the synopsis and thought “eh, I’ll give it a try.” I am so glad I did!! I absolutely love this series.
I am not a vampire fan but this book caught me and held me…..the characters were interesting and captivating…. really enjoyed it.
Loved it. Want more
nice urban fantasy, predictable plot
A Hidden Fire is the first in Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental Mysteries and an enjoyable series to read. Fun characters, easy to read, and as with everything Hunter writes, the locations are fabulous. Enjoy!
This book got me hooked on the author.
Interesting take on vampires. Enjoyed the strong, independent heroine.
predictable in many ways, dialogue redundant.
Loved the book. Can’t wait to read next book
Good plot development.
What a great story about immortals and vampires.
I liked that the female protagonist is strong willed and even though the male protagonist has more knowledge she doesn’t just capitulate to him. But she is also smart enough to know when to just go with the flow to stay alive.
