I’ve read three of the books in this series. They are all wonderful. This book tackles some pretty heavy topics- murder, abuse and cancer. The novel is uplifting and inspiring despite the serious issues portrayed. Greg Hawkins is definitely a hero to keep, but Shannon and Ryan are just as heroic in their own right.
Enjoyed this story about a little boy who stops speaking after witnessing his mother’s murder at the hand of his father and then finds his voice again with the help of his aunt and an art therapist.
Loved it.
I really liked this book. I wasn’t sure when I got it but really liked it a lot. Good book.
Really enjoyed this book. I bought 2nd & 3rd in series.
gave some insite to what kids absorb in life surroundings
Good read!
An unusual premise but well put together. Well written emotional subject with a dose of reality. A hard subject written well enough to be entertaining.
Good read.
Good read
Brings new meaning to ‘let it go’! This was a good drama / romance. I really liked the artwork as therapy and the cancer support line. There was some confusion about how he could donate to charities, but not support his own. I strongly disagreed that a court would put a minor child on the stand in this case vs in private chambers without defendant present.
This was a great book, and I’m so excited there are more family members to follow!
I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. The author pulls you in and let’s you get to know each character well. The best part is this book is part of a series but can be read as an individual story.
It was a great book to read. I really enjoyed it and hated having to put the book down plus hated that the book was done! Would really enjoy any other books by this author. I liked how there was just the right amount of description of characters but not to much to where your ok enough about this person get on with the story. I love the family values was important and it just made you want to meet this family and be involved in there lives. it was a very good read.
Wow! I was entrenched in this book. Young Ryan’s story is so heartbreaking. It was lovely to watch Shannon finally able to show her love for nephew. Greg with his art therapy couldn’t have been a better hero. This book produced tears and laughter, kudos to Ms Gable for writing it so well.
An intelligent book with relatable characters and an original plot that grabs the reader and won’t let go. A tear-jerker, a happy, family genre, witty dialog, steamy love scenes, emotional and even disturbing at times… this book is LIFE and real. An excellent read!
A very sweet and special story. Loved the development of all three relationships. It was very touching and sweet. It even made me tear up. And I absolutely loved the ending.
Compelling.
I couldn’t put this book down and read through the night until it was finished. Shannon has learnt to keep her distance from people and material possessions, enjoying them in the moment and then letting go. This allows her not to get hurt but is hardly conducive to her forming a relationship with her traumatised 6 year old nephew, who has not spoken since the day he witnessed his mother’s murder and whom she has only seen twice since he was born. Greg, an art therapist with a large loving family, helps bring the two of them together and encourages Shannon to fight to hold on to those she cares about.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Overcoming
Shannon had her nephew Ryan after he witness the murder of his mother by his father. Ryan was not speaking, barely eating, and. Just barely functioning. Her social worker suggested art therapy. When she saw Greg she thought he was only into superhero’s. She has a fight on her hands and a little boy to save.
Like it very much
