Her dreams kept her in Hawaii when most of her friends moved to the West Coast to follow theirs. He was on the island of Kaua’i training with the other Deltas in his unit until he fell head over heels for the woman of his dreams.Ku’uipo Ornellas has been working most of her life. Starting as a professional hula dancer when she was a child, she just resigned from her job as hospitality coordinator … coordinator for a large chain hotel to revive a hotel from Hawaii’s silver screen past. Hoping to give young residents a practical place to learn their hospitality skills. But someone doesn’t want the hotel to reopen and they’re willing to take out their frustration on the young woman so dedicated to its success.
Efrain ‘Train’ Figueroa is a man who loves his movies and tv shows, but within hours of meeting the young woman with a sweetheart of a name, he finds himself drawn into her single-minded goal of getting the hotel up and running. Especially because one of his acting idols filmed on the grounds. When the seamier side of Hawaii tries to take her dreams away, he’s quick to jump in and help. He just can’t seem to walk away from the beautiful young woman who calls to a part of his soul that has nothing to do with the ephemeral quality of movies and everything to do with the heart that beats hard and fast in his chest.
There’s no script that tells the tale of their love, but who can resist a beautiful heroine, a handsome hero, action, adventure, and love. Lots of love when ‘Train’ becomes a Hero for Ku’uipo.

Hawaiian Solider Boy
When two busy people collide there is sure to be sparks flying. Train and Ku’uipo are meant to be together, if they can get their schedules to work together and he can save her from the forces plotting against her success. This author did not disappoint with the action and laughter that pour off the page. Not to mention the romance that she includes in each of her books. I really enjoyed this addition to the Delta Force Hawaii series, I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
Efrain finds himself on a Crazy Train!
Train cannot help himself, he may be a romantic but the moment he meets Ku’uipo romance is forgotten…he can’t even remember how to breathe! She is perfect…beautiful…smart….funny….and meant to be his. But whilst Train embraces it, Ku’uipo is scared and he has his work cut out convincing her to trust him with her heart.
Like a bad penny we see Sato rearing his head to target innocents once again, the team have outsmarted him once, can the do it a second time?
I read this on Kindle Unlimited and look forward the the rest of the team finding their ‘one’….especially Baron!
I love a good book with murder, mayhem, suspense and romance and this book has what it takes. With all Ku’uipo has going on falling in love is just not on her agenda but Train is not going to let her walk away. Grab this one and take a ride to figure out what is going on, who is doing it and can Train save Ku’uipo. Loved it!!
Second book in the Delta Force Hawaii series and it doesn’t disappoint Train loved movies and he meets Ku’uipoi through friends while she’s working on a hotel where one of his favorite movies was filmed. There’s suspense, action and we learn some Hawaiian words and folklore. Great addition to the Delta Force Hawaii series.
Ku’uipo is running a hospitality training program in an old hotel from Hawaii’s silver screen, hoping to give people a chance to learn the hotel business. Efrain (Train), a Delta force soldier, is an old movie buff. He and Ku’uipo meet through mutual friends and hit it off.
But someone doesn’t want Ku’uipo to succeed. Accidents seem to be happening and Train becomes suspicious. After almost losing her, he steps in to protect Ku’uipo. This is a lovely story of a man and woman not looking for love, but discovering it anyway. Reina Torres successfully winds Hawaiian folklore into a modern setting and brings it together in the end. This was a quick read with mystery, intrigue, and a happy ending.
Although sparks between Efrain “Train” Figueroa and Ku’uipo Ornellas, they both have commitments to fulfill in their daily lives. Her dream is opening a training based resort and it’s just about ready to happen. She is driven, focused, organized and a top notch manager. He’s a Delta, being committed and driven is a given. He’s also the ultimate movie buff and a romantic. He wants that special something that his teammate has and is willing to do the work to make that happen with her. But first he needs to keep her safe because someone is trying to sabotage the hotel’s opening.
**I received a copy of A Hero for Ku’uipo from the author and gladly leave a review. My opinions are my own and not solicited **
A Hero from Ku’uipo by Reina Torres is the second book in her Delta Force Hawaii series and even though I haven’t read the first book (But plan too) this can be read as a stand alone. I loved how the story blends in the Hawaiian words, setting as well as Delta Force men together. Fantastic story and worth the 5 stars I’ve given it.
Ku’uipo Ornellas has lived in Hawaii all her life and when given a chance to revive a hotel with a silver screen past on Kauai she’s all in because it would mean being able to teach her staff and customers how beautiful Hawaii is. Now she’s organizing a wedding but when accidents start happening she turns to Efrain “Train” Figueroa training on the island with his Delta Force Team. Can Train help ‘Ipo save the resort and convince her that he’s falling in love with her? Will they be able to work out the logistics of their jobs and life ?
Efrain “Train” Figueroa loves movies so when his Delta Team trains on Kauai he’s excited because he’ll be able to see the hotel where Elvia filmed Blue Hawaii. But when he meets Ku’uipo whose name means Sweetheart he just knows that she’s The One who’ll hold his heart forever. But can he help her when a fire breaks out almost destroying her dreams of making this hotel work?
I really enjoyed this book. This is a book in the Delta Force series. The book can be read as a stand alone. There is mystery, love, romance and excitement. Ku’uipo is running a training program to teach others the hospitality industry. She is opening an amazing hotel and has a wedding scheduled. Unfortunately, someone does not want it opened and will try anything to stop Ku’uipo.
Enjoyed the storyline and all the twists that kept my attention. Interesting characters and supporting characters that had great comradery and chemistry. Looking forward to more in the series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Oh my. What a great story about one’s woman determination to create and restore a historic hotel into a resort that also trains people in the hospitality industry. And the bad men who try to stop her dreams from being achieved. Amidst all that she still manages to find love too, with a hot dedicated Delta force army guy who’s there to support her as well? Oh yeah. Definitely a good romance right here. I enjoyed every minute of this heart stopping, steamy romance.
Highly entertaining, sexy, fun and action packed romantic journey filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, emotional twist and heart racing turns…. was a great read. Really enjoyed this thrilling journey from beginning to end.
Ku’uipo and Efrain, Train, are such a sweet couple to watch as they work through their initial jitters and try to decide whether they can conquer their fears to become something more.
Ku’uipo is trying to reopen a hotel that had its moment of fame in an Elvis Presley movie, and it seems each time she takes one step forward, she falls two steps back. The danger of attempting to open a hotel someone doesn’t want her to open is palpable.
Efrain knows he wants her from the moment he meets her. And he works through the entire story to keep her safe and to gain her trust. His job is a dangerous one, and it calls him away for lengths of time Ku’uipo is having trouble wrapping her head around. No matter what she decides, he refuses to walk away and leave her to the dangers of the person trying to prevent her hotel from reopening.
I found the entire story exciting and dynamic. I always love reading this author’s stories, especially when they involve risk and danger and love. This Delta Force tale is just such a story, and I was wrapped up in it from the moment I opened the book until the final scene. I would have liked to see more of the villain at the end of the story, get his take on the final situation concerning the hotel. We don’t find out if he just decides to give up or if he’s met his match. I believe that is something that should have been addressed.
Train, a member of Delta Force, meets Ku’uipo through mutual friends and sparks fly. Loved how Train and Ku’uipo’s relationship grew when he found out she worked in an old hotel where one of his favorite moves was filmed. He’s such a big film buff that it added so much to his character. I really enjoyed reading this story and all the twists and turns, mystery, suspense, action, romance and a perfect ending.
I liked the plot of the story which is restoring a historic hotel into a resort. This military romance is full of heat, and the strong attraction between the two lead characters comes across the pages. For some reason the story didn’t flowed well for me. It wasn’t an easy read for me. Can’t put my finger on it. Reina Torres writes really good romances, so maybe I was just off on this one. I really liked how the author weaved some of the history of Hawaii into the story. Great descriptions and a variety of characters. Still a good read.
