This is by far the best series I have ever read. All I can say is WOW a million times over. I must admit this book had me at the edge of my seat.
This book is about Jinx who is a Harpy and her Werewolf Mates 3 brothers, Cade, Ryan and Benson. Cade have been sent by Lucifer to close a seal. Along the way he meets up with Jinx and her sister Karma. Jinx has a past which hunts her down but in the end all evil ends as it should be.
This book is packed with adventure, some shocking moments that had me catch my breath and thinking “Oh hell no this cant be happening”
A Hellion Heart can be read as a stand alone but I would suggest if you are planning to read this series (Which you should by the way) start at the beginning.
I love Claire Marta writing and would suggest if you have not read any of her books then you should be asking yourself “Why the hell not?
If I could give Claire more than a 5 star rating for any of her books I would because they are awesome.
Jinx and Karma are some bad ass women who are strong and after everything they have been through know how to handle themselves so Cade and his brothers being werewolves will be no make or so they think sent on a quest together by Lucifer it could be the end of them or the beginning of something fantastic which will it be. A must read series you won’t be able to put down can’t wait for the next one now.
Cade has a job to do for the devil, but along the way he encounters Jinx, destiny says she is to be his but right now she is a thorn in his side. Jinx doesn’t want anything to do with Cade or his brothers. When another female shows up to protect her, it throws things for a loop in his plans to make her his.
They each have a job to do for the devil and they have realized they must rely on each other to get it done. They encounter problem after problem with demons and other forces threatening to ruin their lives. The devil is getting impatient with all of them for taking to long to complete the task at hand. He gives them one last chance to complete the task before he wipes them all out.
They have all become so close and have come to realize that in order for them to complete the job for the devil a life must be lost. The question at hand is who gets to make that decision and can they figure out a way to complete the task and fulfill their own destiny without losing anyone.
This is book 4 in the Ceasefire series, like the other 3 it will take you to the deep depths of hell and continuous turmoil and destruction. If you are looking for deep dark destruction on the path to love, then you will want to start from Book 1 and not stop until you have reached Book 4.
I adore this series so much so was really looking forward to starting this one.
This focuses on Jinx a harpy that we were introduced to previously along with her new wolf mates who are brothers Cade Benson and Ryan.
From this instant, I picked this up I was engrossed in the unfolding story.
Jinx her sister Karma and also her wolf mates are on a quest for Lucifer to close a seal.
During there journey, they are beset by many obstacles that will test them all to there absolute limits.
This wasn’t always an easy read and did get quite dark in places.
I seem to be able to embrace and accept the darkness much more when it’s a non-contemporary setting and this one ran me through a massive gauntlet of emotions it was just so bloody bittersweet and at times totally heartbreaking.
What a journey this was, full of unexpected twists and turns.
I might not have always liked where this ventured but I was completely invested in the characters.
So yes I suppose technically this can be read as a stand-alone but to appreciate this fully and also the fantastic world-building the author has woven I do advise you to start from the beginning You’ll just get much more out of it overall.
This one actually managed to completely gut me and it was a much more intense experience than what I was initially expecting.
It carved my heart into little pieces in the process and at times left me feeling emotionally bereft.
I still adored it and the whole poignancy of it as I mentioned earlier very bittersweet but also brilliant.
I think that’s the only thing that pulled my rating down slightly my sadness.
This was as I expected a fabulously written non-stop adventure.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of A Hellion Heart.

Loved this book and how it immediately introduces us to Cade and Jinx. I was on their side the entire time. So much steam, action and adventure right from the beginning. Loved all the characters in the books.
Wow. This book. There was so much going on. I like the guys, and I think that they have a lot of honor. They are very protective and caring, especially about their mate, Jinx. It took them a minute to figure out how to handle her because she wasn’t what Benson, Cade, and Ryan thought she would be and what they were used to, but it made their relationship stronger, I think.
I really liked Jinx. I mean, she was fierce and strong. She had a thick set of walls, but I don’t blame her for that. If I were her, I would have had those kinds of walls too. But once you make it into her walls, she is going to take care of you forever, and love you fiercely. I think that she’s just amazing.
The magic continues!
I’m a bit pissed at “Lucy” – You have done some pretty low things but what you pulled here?
I’m hoping retribution finds you
Jinx don’t ever let anyone snuff out your fire!
You have overcome so much adversity – I know you are hurting and at times it is hard to find the light through all this darkness
– Believe in you –
Cade you kinda messed up
Benson, you can be the biggest cuddle bug and still manage to be an arse – what’s with the sexist stuff?
Ryan I’m not going to pick on you because you are in for enough trauma.
Dev I can only hope you get everything you deserve
Karma I get it
This episode tore me up a bit. I knew things were going to get rough for our little band of travelers but I could never have foreseen the horrors they were going to face. The losses they would suffer.
I was excited to spend time with some of my favorites again and we get to meet some new ones.
This touts itself as a standalone and it is easy to follow but I do suggest starting this series, if you can, from the beginning.
IMO it will give you a greater sense of the world that Marta has built. More of an understanding of the events and cast members.
Overall just a more intense journey.
