Lily Livingston is a widow raising her six-year-old daughter, Claire, in New York City. Devastated by her husband’s death three years ago, she’s in no hurry to fall in love again. Besides, trying to balance her career with motherhood leaves her little time for romance. With a wheelchair instead of a white horse, and a vow against falling in love again as his armor, Gideon Stone is the last person … person Lily expects to sweep her off her feet. But when a business agreement forces the two of them together, that is exactly what happens. As they navigate the minefield that fast represents their relationship, can either of them overcome the obstacles to find true happiness in each other’s arms?

As a person with a visual impairment I am happy with this book. Gideon is a paraplegic. I feel the author did a good job in portraying him as a person and not his disability. I enjoyed the other characters as well. I really hope Samantha and Tony get a story. The author did well with describing emotions. They came across so clearly.
A lovely romance featuring two individuals who have suffered their share of heartache. Lily lost her husband and despite her friends attempts is not ready to enter the world of dating. Besides raising her daughter, Claire and work monopolize most of her time. Gideon is faced with a life in a wheelchair due to an accident and although leading a full life doesn’t feel he deserves to be in a relationship. Each of them find it difficult to open their hearts and after a while this became annoying. What saved the story for me was Claire, her emotions (love, anger) jumped off the pages. I also loved the descriptions of the parks in New York City. I recommend this unique love story that is sweet and endearing.
Lily is a widow who is raising her six year old daughter. She meets Gideon, the brother of her good friend/neighbor. Due to an accident, Gideon is in a wheel chain but it doesn’t stop him from living agood life through work, friends, family and volunteering at a youth center. There is something missing from both their lives, someone special to share it with and to love. Sometimes its hard to trust. Lily lost her husband and the the future they planned together. Gideon was brutally rejected by his fiancee after the accident. Taking a chance on giving love again is scary but they discover it is worth it in the end. A heart warming story that shows love and caring in many ways.
I liked reading about Gideon and Lily and it was something different.
The writing had a nice pace throughout with added suspense and romance.
The two main characters have pasts they have to work through but it’s written really well and brings out all the emotions.
The hero is in a wheelchair and I havent read that many stories with a hero who is still trying to be strong and independent whilst in a wheelchair.
I recommend this story
A Heart of Little Faith
by Jennifer Wilck
A Heart of Little Faith is an endearing, and unique love story, filled with a true roller-coaster ride of raw emotions. A well-structured storyline with characters with broken pasts and suffered their share of heartache, a true to life story. Destiny has a unique way of bringing individuals together, into a partnership where they learn to work beating the hurdles, thrown in front of them.
Ms. Jennifer Wilck’s writing skill shows her ability to share with her readers the raw emotions that come with relationships through the characters in her stories. Along with the frustration and crying, comes a lot of great humor in this smooth, flowing romantic story. All the love and anger of her characters leaps off the pages, so the readers can almost feel it for themselves, transporting the readers into the scenes.
I have had the pleasure of reading this book as part of a reading challenge this and really enjoyed the book quite a bit. For those that love a good romance story, then you will enjoy this book. A 4.5-star rating goes to Ms. Wilck and her book A Heart of Little Faith
I give this book 2.5 Stars. Gabriel is a sadistic sob that continually puts down the the woman he’s supposed to care about over and over and over again. You can add some more overs to that too. I should have stopped reading but I didn’t. I wanted to scream to Lily “Don’t fall for him!” This book needs a good editing and the author needs a Thesaurus. Sweat is apparently her favorite word for this book. It’s used over 25 times!
Lily Livingston is a widow and mother of a six year old daughter who just moved back to New York City from Philadelphia. Her best friend Samantha, who lives across the hall from her, has invited her to her art gallery for an art show where she meets Gideon Stone for the first time. Lily isn’t looking for love nor does she think she’s ready to date again but then she sees Gideon and something flutters in her stomach. Gideon is a sexy man who happens to be in a wheelchair and has decided that he will never love again, in huge part to the chair; at least until he meets Lily and Claire. Will they be able to maneuver around the obstacles that have been placed in front of them to find true love again?
This book is part of the Facebook Winter Games Reader Challenge and I had the pleasure of being able to read it. I really enjoyed this book quite a lot, it’s really well written and just ebbs and flows easily and smoothly but trust me when I tell you that it’s a true roller-coaster ride of emotions. It’s all about the ups and downs of this “relationship” that Gideon and Lily find themselves in. The story brings a realistic look and feel to not only being a widow but a widow who is now a single mother having to figure out where to go next plus how someone who has been recently injured learns to cope with new limitations. I thought that the pitfalls of dealing with all the different obstacles were very well constructed in a true to form way as to how they would pertain to all the different relationships involved as well.
Now I’m going to talk about the emotions because this is another book where I felt the emotions coming from the characters. We all (avid readers) love to be transported into the scene or into the minds of the characters, go ahead and tell me I’m wrong. There’s a lot of great subtle humor. Such as, at one point Gideon and Lily are putting her apartment back together after a break in and they keep looking at each other without the other person knowing they’re looking at each other of which makes Gideon misdial his secretary twice and hang up. That actually had me laughing out loud (when you read the passage you’ll understand why I found so funny, I swear). So along with the humor, snide/snarky/sarcastic comments comes the frustration, the crying, the happy, the sad, the wanting to just slap someone across the face (not sure who but there are so many options) and the want for everyone to find love.
If you are one for romance then you will enjoy this book just as much as me, even if you aren’t a terrible romantic I’m sure that you will still enjoy it.
A well woven story about two lonely people, who due to past circumstances have closed their hearts, finding each other, learning how to trust again, and taking a chance at love and happiness. A story dealing with loss, love, and second chances. A story that will definitely take you on an emotional ride.
I enjoyed reading a heart of little faith it had me on a permanent rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. It has a way of making you feel like you’re in the story with them and want to scream with frustration at some parts. I recommend this book its definitely worth the ride.
My first book by this author and looking forward to reading her other books.
