New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne brings readers a heartwarming snowed-in romance in this prequel novella!Gemma Summerhill wanted a fresh start in Haven Point, a place where no one knew about her accident and would treat her like a fragile rose because of it. Getting stranded on the side of a mountain was not part of that plan, nor was being rescued by Josh Bailey–a man too … confident for his own good–and going back to his ranch to wait out the storm. But the snow isn’t letting up, and with a warm fire keeping them cozy, Gemma and Josh might let their guards down…if past grief doesn’t overshadow their present–and future.

The characters have depth. A great read.
This was an enjoyable novella to give us a glimpse into how Gemma Summerhill and Josh Bailey met. Well done RaeAnne Thayne. Haven Point is such a great series.
A Haven Point Beginning by RaeAnne Thayne.
Gemma Summerhill and Josh Bailey are the main characters.
Gemma is in Haven Point trying to move on from an accident that took her brothers life and left hers to be rebuilt. She meets josh at his sporting good store when she is getting stuff for hiking.Josh rescues Gemma when a snow storm hits and she is stuck on the mountain where his house is. They spend time together and fall in love. They both fight it for different reasons. I really enjoyed this short story. My only complaint about this book is that it is to short. but a great quick read.
I love books where the couple are stranded alone somewhere and this book fits the bill. Gamma and Josh are wonderful characters and I wish there was more of them than this novella.
A great, short, easy read that pulls the heartstrings!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
It’s a short novella but we learn a lot about Gemma and Josh! I love stories about couples stranded together in a storm! Gemma is in a cute little car, driving down a road when all of the sudden half the mountain comes down and covers that road – yikes! What is she supposed to do in this crazy storm? Thank goodness Josh rescues her and takes her to his cabin. They have met, thankfully, although Gemma doesn’t think much of him….being forced together just might change her mind! Josh on the other hand has been dreaming about her for months! Can this couple let the forced togetherness work out their differences? Although a longer book would have been wonderful, this author still knows how to write a fantastic story in a short period!
We learn alot about Gemma and Josh in this novella. It gives us a look into the couple as they began. It is just that a look of how this couple started as a couple, the initial moment of I want this person and feel safe with this person.
Definitely a must read before Summer at Lake Haven
What an adorable short story.
At the beginning of this there’s an authors note where RaeAnne Thayne says “Shortly after starting Sam’s book (Summer at Lake Haven), I realized I hadn’t planned very well. I had never told the story about the bride-to-be, the sister of Sam’s hero, Ian Summerhill. Oops! I know my readers well enough (and adore you all!) to anticipate that as soon as Sam’s book hit stores, readers would start emailing me or messaging me to ask if they had missed Gemma’s story somewhere.”
Boy does she know her readers well. We would have hounded her. *wink* – just kidding. No need now because she of course has given us what we want.
This is just a small sweet four chapter story of how the romance between Gemma and Joshua began. Totally worth reading in my opinion. It may not be a full story and only just the beginning of the two of them, but don’t worry, if you want to see a little more of them, just wait till Summer at Lake Haven is released in a few weeks. You’ll see more of Gemma and Joshua and meet some new folks that are coming to Haven Point.

Much to short!! I need more of this couple. I liked the characters and the plot was a good starting point. It’s not finished though. It left me hanging, expecting more. I know there’s more coming but not soon enough! Such a tease.
