I love this series. The characters are well developed, the plot just enough into the supernatural to be interesting without that being the whole story.
A spooky mystery with an HEA ending.
A ghost story. A historical mystery with suspense. I was delighted by the tale.
A great series! So easy to identify with Em but not feel like an insecure wuss…if you like the supernatural a must read.
I really enjoyed this book! The author did a wonderful job fleshing out her characters. I also appreciated the romance popped into a haunting story with many twists and turns. I have purchased two more in this series and look forward to reading the !
Emerald’s adventures with the haunted lot next door kept me in suspense until the very end!
Fantastic story and characters. Couldn’t put it down until I had finished reading it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Characters are great with an interesting storyline.
Good book. Well-developed, likable and believable characters the reader can care about, including the ghosts and cats. The story is an old-fashioned mystery involving a dig into the past and old relationships. The series is always fun but this book stands out in the series. Heartwarming in a realistic, if ghostly, way. Generally recommended.
A fast paced magical cozy. So far I like the whole series. Missing cat, will o the wisp, and ghost oh my. A keeper.
For me it was bad. I believe in God the Father Almighty and in His son Jesus the Christ. I believe wholeheartedly in John 3: 16 and 17. That being said I shouldn’t have read this book. I should have stopped reading it when I became uncomfortable with the story. However, being a bit OCD, I can’t seem to stop reading a book once I start it, even if it is a really badly written book. The sad thing is, I really like the characters in this book. They are like real people I could know. But this story line just wasn’t for me.
I recommend the book as it was a page turner. Was it the usual boy gets girl? Yes, but the twist and turns made it great. I am definitely going to be ready for the next book.
A good read!
Love the series! Can’t wait to read more of her books!
I love how this author has created Emerald & her family & friends. I enjoy reading about other people’s ideas about how ghosts enact w/humans. Truly Enjoyable!!
Yasmine Galenorn’s mysteries series is well-written, intriguing and full of surprises.
This story was just okay. It seemed to drag with too much mundane dialogue about what they were eating or wearing, repetitious comments about how much the family missed their cat, and the main character’s desire to be intimate with her much younger boyfriend. The sun never seems to shine and it is always rainy and cold. Emerald lives in a house with her two kids. Her boyfriend stays with them most of the time. He decides to buy the empty lot nextdoor and they find that it is inhabited by a couple of ghosts and some other supernatural things that cause a lot of trouble. There is a back story as to why the property is haunted which could have have been developed more to make the story interesting, instead most of the story focuses on Emerald trying to discover the back story and the problems the supernatural beings are causing. It just wasn’t very interesting until the wind-up at the end.
Enjoyed the characters interactions in this book. Fun to read!
I love this series-shes a great writer
This novel will grip you from the first page, and you’ll be reading it in one sitting because you can’t put it down. Ms. Galenorn brings all of her many talents into play in this wonderful paranormal mystery. Great characters, believable scenes and conversations, and superb descriptions that make you feel you’re in the novel with the characters. I’ve read some of her other mysteries, but this one is definitely at the top of my favorites. Who’s not out there pulling for the underdogs and star-crossed lovers? Definitely a novel I recommend highly. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!
