While some may try, no one ruins a Hamilton family Christmas. From Romantic Suspense BEST-SELLING and AWARD-WINNING Author • What happens when a family comes together for Christmas but upon arrival their vacation takes a deadly turn? In Sheila Kell’s novel of intrigue and the love of one family, three generations of Hamiltons work to solve a mystery that impacts one of their own.A HAMILTON … own.
A HAMILTON CHRISTMAS is the final stand-alone novel in the HIS series. This novel steps out of the romantic suspense mold of the series and revolves around a family vacation where relaxation is tossed in the snow. There is NO new love interest in this novel.
A year has passed since the Hamiltons celebrated a holiday as one family. Blake Hamilton—the family patriarch—invited his growing family to a remote Colorado lodge for more reasons than enjoying Christmas. He should’ve known that with his sons and daughter, trouble would find them. The important news he has to share takes a back seat when one problem after another hits them.
At ten years old, Reagan Hamilton knows she’ll lead HIS when she’s old enough. In the meantime, she trains with her uncles because she wants to show everyone she will be a good agent. When she arrives at the lodge, a man catches her attention so she decides she has a mystery to solve that involves him. When a crime happens, she sneaks away while dragging her cousins to help their parents find the criminal trying to set up her cousin.
When the allegations are proved wrong, but a criminal is on the loose while the weather is working against them, can the Hamiltons protect their family, and the guests relying on them, before events are out of their control?

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book direct from the author, and I thank Ms Kell for that.
This book takes place a year after His Fantasy, Brad’s story, and is like a catch up on what all the brothers and their wives have been up to. And they are been doing a LOT of baby making! So it was great to catch up with everyone, all in one place.
It’s a bit different that the other HIS books, in that the story is told from Jesse’s ten year old daughter, Reagan and her Poppy, Blake Hamilton’s points of view. Reading such polar opposites was amusing at times: Reagan is determined to follow in her father’s footsteps, even if she has to go against him to do it, and Blake is still a little in the dog house as far as I’m concerned! Oh, he redeemed himself in His Family, but maybe not as much as I thought he had!
There is a lot of love here, with every member of the Hamilton clan, their partners and babies all here along with a new member of the family that is introduced here. Reagan and her new cousin are a well matched pair and they pull their sleuthing off extremely well!
It was so lovely to catch up with everyone, it’s always sad to say goodbye and this was a great little catch up, a little time after the main books ended.
Very well done, Ms Kell, I’m just not a great fan of holiday stories!
4 solid stars

A wonderful way to wrap up the HIS series with captivating characters and a great Christmas adventure that included mystery, suspense, humor, a great family dynamic and so much more. I really liked 10 year old Reagan who is “in training” to be a future leader at HIS.
Sorry to see this series end but I look forward to what Ms. Kell will bring us next. I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my unbiased review.
While this story doesn’t quite follow the normal guidelines for a traditional romance novel, it’s so full of love throughout that the reader will still feel the passion. A little bittersweet for fans of the HIS series, this last novel features the entire Hamilton clan—all three generations in a suspenseful murder mystery that showcases not only the talents of the men and women of HIS, but the love of the Hamilton family as well.
Featuring prominently within the story is whipsmart Reagan, eldest son Jesse’s 10 year old daughter who is intent on showing the family that she is: 1) no longer a child, and 2) worthy of running the family business in a few years. She is a fun little spitfire that helps make this story a delight.
There’s a lot to love in this novel. The characters are warm, rich, engaging and fun. The plot is nicely woven and quickly paced, with a setting that is at once charming and beautiful, but not without risk. The dialogue and banter of the family is so instinctively written that the reader simply feels immersed in the middle of this enormous, cacophonous, over the top, loving, and sometimes sarcastic family of alpha males (with their amazing alpha females). What a great place to be!
Readers can share this warm Christmas tale with their moms (a rarity!)—no steamy love scenes to worry about, and adult language is used sparingly. This story is a great one to snuggle up with by the fire with your favorite warm drink and get yourself in the Christmas spirit. It’s a beautiful reminder of the love of family, and how deep that love really goes.
A Hamilton Christmas is the last book in this wonderful series, and I have loved reading each and every story, especially that each one of the family gets their happy ever after. Even though this story isn’t based on that same theme it still has plenty of mystery and suspense, a little romance and a look at the younger generation picking up on what the adults do for a living by becoming mini sleuths to solve a murder on their Christmas family vacation.
This book was a fitting end to the HIS series and was a welcome change from what you would have normally have expected it to be about as it is making way for the next generation of HIS and HERS characters that future books could be written about.
I totally loved this story and read it in one go, it is well written and a very entertaining read!
A Hamilton Christmas is the ninth book in the HIS series, but is super unique that it features the whole entire family, can be read completely alone, and doesn’t feature a new romance. Told from Reagan’s, a ten year old, and Blake’s, the patriarch of the family, points of view, when their family gathers together for a Christmas to remember, they weren’t expecting a murder mystery, secrets, danger, and new family members! With everything that’s happening in the lodge, will HIS be able to solve the mystery?
Oh my goodness! I loved every minute of reading this book! I had so much fun getting into Reagan’s mind and I loved the contrast between her thoughts and Blake’s. I know that there was no new romance in this story, but I don’t think it was needed, as the spirit of HIS and Christmas were both present within this book! I don’t want to give anything away, but I loved the rather important role that the children played in working on the murder mystery, and I loved that so many true emotions could be felt between these pages! The ending had me gripping the edges of my seat, but I absolutely loved the sweet moments, and most importantly, I love how well this family bands together in good and difficult times! I have loved reading this series, absolutely adored this addition, and am going to be sad that HIS is coming to a close.
I loved reading about the Hamilton men again, all the characters that I have grown to love and now all of them with families of their own. It’s not your typical romantic suspense…not really. Unless you consider all the Hamilton men with their one and only, still in love, being romantic, and protecting their family.
There is suspense, a mystery, a little bit of thoughts of steam when it comes to one of the Hamilton men, humour that had me chuckling out loud and a few times my eyes got misty with emotion and I had to grab a tissue. I enjoyed the story and the 2 main character’s thoughts or POV that it was told through. I was a bit put off with Reagan at times and even though I get that she was very young, her actions and thoughts were more of a spoiled princess, than those of a young girl who is being raised by two of my favorite characters.
I will be reading it again just to get my dose of the Hamilton men and their families altogether.
Spending Christmas with the Hamilton Family was a great time. It was good to catch up with all the members of the family while they celebrate Christmas together. They unexpected events made for a good story. I loved the parts being told from Reagan’s perspective. I can’t wait for her to grow up and get her own story. Jason’s future story will be funn too! The story is a fun read, I look forward to more installments from Sheila Kell. I received an advance copy for an honest review.
Although different from the rest of the series, the writing and plot in this book keep with the tradition that has run throughout this series. What’s better than a family Christmas? For this family, it seems to run around some type of suspense. I liked the way the older kids were brought into this story and how they were able to help the family figure out who did it, while still being kids. Enjoyed this series and look forward to more books by Sheila Kell. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have read and loved this entire series, including this one. Although I am sorry this series has ended, I enjoyed the path this author chose for the finally. No love interest you say? Pffft! There is so much love in this family that there is NEVER a lack of interest in love. What I enjoyed most in this one was the children. The Hamiltons are learning what is was like for those who raised them. The kids are just like them; stubborn, loving, fiercely loyal, funny and all alpha just like their parents. It was fun to see this generation following in their parent’s footsteps at such an early age. Of course they stumble into a mystery they just have to solve and our entertainment begins. Yes, it is not like the previous books but it is a brilliant way to end this series. Makes you hope we will see these kids again when they are all older. I recommend this book as well as the entire series. This review is based on an ARC and is my own opinion, given voluntarily.
Interesting twist on one of my favorite family series. This one still has all the Hamilton’s & their families at a Colorado lodge for Christmas. We are given a fresh young perspective with Reagan Hamilton as our junior sleuth guide helping to unravel the murder mystery on Christmas Eve.
Oh goodness, where to even start. I have NOT read any of the other HIS books. That didn’t take away too much from this story. There are a lot of characters that we would have gotten to know in the previous books but I was able to catch on easy enough. I really liked that the dual POVs were so opposite. Grandfather/10 year old grand daughter. Reagan sure has a knack for sleuthing. She wants to take over HIS when she grows up. While she needs to remember she is still just a child she might have what it takes with the proper training.
The suspense, mystery, and mayhem that befalls this family during their Christmas “vacation” is enough to make anyone crazy. I was hooked right away. I am interested on getting the back story on all the kids now!
Absolutely a wonderful story.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of A Hamilton Christmas . I really enjoyed reading this story . I’m dad to see this fantastic series come to an end . I love the HIS series , but I look forward to the next series . This series bring the Hamilton’s together for Christmas , but of course there’s always trouble finding them . The story is really interesting and intertaining . It’s a suspenseful and thrilling time at the lodge . The story is well written . It keeps you reading .All the interactions of characters are great . I love Reagan I hope someday she gets a story . All and all this is a great story to end a fabulous series . I highly recommend reading and enjoying this story .
I loved this last book in the HIS series, family, warmth, caring, togetherness, laugh out loud growing up children trying to find their place in this awesome family, mysteries, murder and mayhem for all of the HIS group to figure out. What a wonderful way to end this series and for the Christmas season coming
The Hamilton’s trek to Colorado for a family Christmas. Blake has a few secrets to reveal but a murder delays the ultimate secret. Reagan, Jesse and Kate’s 10 year old, is determined to show her mom and dad she is ready to be treated like her grown up 10 year old self and not a child. She is sure she can solve a mystery while at the lodge for Christmas. Much of this book is told through Reagan and Blake’s points of view. Will the kids break the case wide open or end up right smack dab in the middle of danger in their quest to solve this mystery/murder? What is Blake’s big secret and how will it affect the future for the Hamilton family? It all plays out in this last of HIS series of books.
For those readers that have read and loved the HIS series, this one is bittersweet. It’s the end of the series about the wonderful family we have come to know and love. Though not a romance, it’s a story filled with three generations of Hamiltons, some new surprise family members, a murder and the mystery in solving it. Not one, but three generations are determined to solve the problem, highlighted by the delightful, and precocious , ten year old Reagan Hamilton.
A page turner, a reminder of the strength of the family bond and the Hamilton’s possess. Add a few surprises, some sad ones as well as good ones, to the mix to make this one another engaging story.
Thank you , Ms Kell , for giving us this final story in which the entire family, old and new, get to spend time together.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I’ve only read HIS DESIRE, (Jesse and Kate) but I really enjoyed it.
And although I’m not a big fan of Christmas stories, I wanted to find out how they’ve been getting on.
Reagan is a fun character and I’m hoping one day she’ll get a story all of her own. It’s mostly told through her eyes. She’s aware of what her family does for a living, and is determined to grow up and going into the family business.
The family are all travelling together to visit Blake, father to all The Hamilton men, and one daughter.
Lots of arguments are being held via the phone on the journey to the lodge the family are all staying. Reagan can’t get here head around some of the silly conversations, but she nods as if she understands it all.
Meanwhile Blake is anxiously waiting for all his children to arrive (the affection he has for his children has always been genuine, but extremely stilted) the snow is getting pretty heavy, and wonders if a lodge was a good idea for the family meeting up this year.
It does remind me of a Nancy drew or a famous five novel (the youngsters looking for clues and solving the mystery)
It’s a fun short read. And it may even get you wondering how the Hamilton sons and daughter met their other halves
Kell brings readers a different type of writing in the conclusion to the HIS series. The family gathers in Colorado for the Christmas holiday only to be entrenched in a murder investigation in the middle of a blizzard.
This book feels more like a cozy mystery because a good portion of the book is told from the children’s perspective. The writing was unexpected and not what I have come to know and love from Kell.
I would not recommend this for readers.
