Book Three: Amy’s Story. A Choices Series Standalone Spin-off. For Amy Madison, life is comprised of deliberate steps that will lead her to her goals. Everything is planned, including college, career, and someday, a husband and family. Landon Porter, her friend since childhood, is her true north, keeping her on course for all she’s striving for. He’s charming, witty, handsome, and her rock in … handsome, and her rock in moments of doubt.
But the pair soon learns the temptation of choices and the life-altering consequences that can occur. What happens is no one’s fault. But that doesn’t lessen the pain. Nor does it prevent their broken hearts from lashing out at one another.
Drowning in the murky waters of uncertainty, Amy desperately searches for a way out. She’s not sure of much anymore, except for one glaring truth—this was never part of the plan.
***This is a standalone spin-off of the Choices Series Duet, A Beautiful Kind of Love and A Forever Kind of Love. It can be read as a standalone. ***
***Intended for mature readers.***

LOVED this book! So glad Landon got his own book. Really enjoyed reading. This series doesn’t disappoint!
I was soooo excited to finally get Amy and Landon’s story. I fell for Landon in the first two books and when I found out he would be my namesake’s love interest my swooning increased ten fold. I’ve been waiting so long and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
There was great love,
“You’re the girl that was right in front of me my whole life and I never truly saw you. But, I see you now.”
but also great pain.
“It’s strange how something you never knew you wanted can destroy you so completely. You know?”
Great angst,
“ I want a life with you and not a secret one. I’m tired of hiding us. I adore that you care so much about everyone’s feelings, but sometime soon—could you care about mine?”
and great redemption.
“You may be able to mask pain with fake laughter, but it will still be there. The only way to truly heal is to feel the hurt. Ugly cry. Acknowledge the grief. Release the sorrow. Every tear that falls will carry some of the sadness away. Eventually you’ll be exhausted and empty and it’s then that you can begin to fill yourself up with something else, maybe not true joy at first, but something other than despair.”
Their story starts in college where they secretly get together with a hot relationship that surprised them both. But then that “great pain” I mentioned occurs and everything changes yet again. Years later they give into the attraction that never truly left and get their second chance. The whole storyline covers around eight years. I enjoyed the overlapping time line with the other books yet they definitely had their own lives and connections between the two of them that where unique to their story (their little hide away cottage and code 4-1-1). And Landon’s text at the end was perfect! I’ll never get enough of this family and can’t wait til Ellie writes more.
Amy and Landon are childhood best friends, and their families are best friends. This is the story about how 2 people find their paths in life, and it’s not always easy.
Ellie Wade has a way of writing that will put you right in the middle of their small hometown and feel like part of the family.
I couldn’t put this book down, I had to see what these characters decided to do. I have read all of Ellie’s books, and this is my favorite by far! Don’t let this one pass you by!
I really love Landon and Amy’s book.
Everything about this story gave me the feels. From when they went to a bonfire during the summer to when they went to college. They HIT several huge bumps. But as the saying goes if it’s to be, it will be be.
Read this book! It is a standalone spin-off of the duet A Beautiful Kind of Love and A Forever Kind of Love. I got half way through the book and could not stop reading! I finished it in 2 days. Ellie Wade is an author whose characters stay with you long after you have finished the book. After finishing book I went back and reread A Beautiful Kind of Love and A Forever Kind of Love. I just didn’t want it to end. One of the best love stories I have read.
This book was fantastic, Ellie Wade knows how to hit you right in the feels!! This book was enthralling and romantic and I couldn’t put it down, all I want to say is “ when is the next one” your awesome Ellie Wade, thanks for another amazing book
I loved this book & would definitely recommend! The series is amazing & this didn’t disappoint!
A Grateful Kind of Love has inspired me to be more grateful in my own life. Amy and Landon have a unique relationship built upon a solid foundation of friendship. There were times I didn’t like Amy very much, but once completing the whole story, I understand why she needed to go through the process the way she did. I enjoyed reading their story and recommend it. Can be finished in a day 🙂
Ellie Wade is an amazing writer! She knows how to weave a story that sucks you in from the beginning. I’ve read everything that she has written and have never been disappointed. Can’t wait for the next one!
Blown away yet again by Ellie Wade! This is a definite must read. I loved seeing Landon and Amy’s different perspective on how things happened. I highly suggest reading this book after A Beautiful Kind of Love and A Forever Kind of Love. You can’t go wrong with an Ellie Wade book!
I have been a huge fan of Ellie Wade’s books for some time now. To have this installment where we get to see the behind the scenes a little. You get the raw emotions. You get passion. You get so so much. I had always been curious about them and seeing what Amy and Landon went through to get to where they are was beautiful yet heartbreaking at times.
As we delve into this book, you are transported back to the series that this one is a spin off from and see things from a different perspective. How things were impacted on Amy and Landon’s end. Those moments almost had me in tears again as we learn more through out. As a whole, this book is a stellar addition to this series. Totally a must read as well as the other books!
I loved this book! I’m so glad Amy and Landon got their own story. Ellie’s book are always filled with so much emotion and the tears definitely fell while reading this. Read this book. You will not be disappointed.
Ellie Wade once again produces a love story to seek out and read in “A grateful kind of love”. Admittedly, it was one that took me a bit longer to read than her others because you don’t really want to like Amy and her sense of waiting until the right time….but give it a chance and keep reading and you’ll fall in love with this couple as I did.
