Books my wife think I would like. Definately this one.
Interesting and inspiring story of 75 year-old woman finding new meaning in her life. I enjoyed seeing the character’s transition from lost to eagerly seeking life. I did not care for the personality of her son. He was a real drag.
I fell in love with Leigh’s main character. This is the story of a little old lady who refused to waste away in a senior home. Loved, loved loved. Read my review at: https://cyndiezahner.com/2020/06/30/a-grand-old-time-by-judy-leigh/
I love this woman! Her family had pretty much written her off and put her in a nursing home. Thankfully, she woke up and took her life back! Once she stopped caring about what others think & started taking chances & living in the moment, great things started happening.
I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures and hope fullness of the major character. She decided there was more to life than waiting to die and took her life back. She began an adventure that kept me jealous and terrified at times. She found herself and brought joy to all she met and to herself on the adventure of a lifetime.
Evie decides to take her life in her own hands when she doesn’t like living in a retirement center. She’s spunky and resourceful and decides to be full of life!
Although ultimately entertaining, I personally found this book hard to get into,
Very easy and enjoyable read.
Fun and different. Like the subject. Too many times we don’t see what people really need or want and assume we know better.
I loved reading this book. It was funny sad and just a very good book.
Charming, though everything seemed to come a little too easy to Evie, especially romance. I don’t think too many senior citizens would buy a camper, though I would definitely buy a leather moto jacket.
Thought provoking.
The premise was good, parts of this book were entertaining and funny. But it was also painfully slow at other times. Unfortunately i did not finish this book. Very unusual for me.
Surprising twists and turns in the story of a mature woman’s journey from Ireland to France along with the story of her son’s journey to find and save her. Believable characters and situations.
I liked this book until the end. I didn’t like that Evie’s new lover died.
Very fun read.
I loved it am looking forward to getting old, thanks to this book!!!!!
This is a fun read if you want something a bit funny and light-hearted. It is also a feel-good story that is a nice escape from heavier, more serious fare.
I loved that she stood up for herself and took control of her life!
Can reaffirm a belief in the goodness of people…characters are well drawn and complex.
