Gavin: Options are slim and none in a town this size and I sure as hell ain’t getting any younger. If I aim to find a wife and start a family, I’m gonna have to get creative. Moving out away from the family farm isn’t an option, so hiring a professional match maker might be my ticket to finding a wife– if she’s willing to make the move.Jillian: I used to take pride in my single girl status but … my single girl status but lately I’d rather be home on a weekend than out at a bar. Truth of the matter is that I want what my girlfriends have now– a husband and a family.
I knew relocating might be a requirement to get my happily ever after when I signed up for an arranged marriage but Indiana is a long way from LA and I’m starting wonder if this was such a good move after all.

She is sitting at home alone looking through photos, on what should have been a girls night out. The being at home and not out at a bar is perfectly satisfactory for Jillian, in fact these days that is what she prefers. However, the pictures she is going through makes her heart long for something she has desperately wanted but still scared to push the submit button on her laptop. You know the submit button on Raven’s matchmaking website. Well, one last swig of wine, and boom, the finger hits the submit button. That is all there is to that….now Jillian is going to let this happen.
He and his brother are farmers in the family business, and there is not a lot of action in the small town. At least not with any one of the girls there, it is slim pickings for Gavin (and his brother Abe as well) but that is all about to change. He is done with “dating,” Gavin wants to get married, raise his children with his wife and family, and have all the things that come with a wife and family. He fills out Raven’s application and let’s things happen.
They have talked on the phone, texted and instant messaged. Jillian and Gavin are going to meet tonight. With chaperones and no alcohol….rules you know. But who thought a roller rink would be where their first meeting/date would be. But it seems things will be ok. This is not an obstacle, this is really a good first meet up/date. Once they actually see each other (apart from pictures) there is an instant chemistry. They know they are good with each other from the calls as well. Things just seem right and to fall into place, a lot better and faster than either of them thought.
Gavin and Jillie escape from their chaperones and decide to take their own pace with their relationship. Gavin can’t stay long, he and his brother need to head back to the farm in Indiana, besides Gavin is not comfortable in LA. Jillie is going to move to Indiana to be with Gavin, and it hits her finally that this is happening. Instead of dread and fear though she is excited. The feelings they have are showing and they are not afraid or nervous to tell one another. Three times that night/early morning to be exact. They both agree that they are meant for each other.
Moving day happens, Jillie’s friend goes with her and moves Jillian to Indiana. Long drive, but worth it. Once they arrive Gavin is there on one knee and ring in hand to make it official and as “perfect” for Jillian as he can. They don’t realize they have an audience until someone clears their throat. She of course says yes. There is also a bit of a two for to post on Raven’s site, because it seems Gavin’s brother and Jillian’s friend end up together, making the girls sister in laws (which they feel like sisters before that anyway.) Kids enter the picture and a whole lot of happiness, love and all sorts of the good stuff happen too. Such an awesome journey to take with them all. So awesome!
Loved it
Gavin and his brother Abe run their large Indiana family farm. Their small community has a shortage of women. Gavin is tired of heading to the city looking for a women to settle down with. He signs up with Raven Swann.
Jill is looking around and her friends are all married and settling down, and thinks it’s time doe her to do the same.
Gavin and Jill are half in love before they even meet. The first date seals the deal. Jill’s younger friend,Allie, 24, and Gavin’s older brother Abe, 35, have a insta lust going on. Raven may have just pulled off a two for one.
Loved Jill and Gavin and Abe and Allie’s stories. Sorry at Derek and Lyle didn’t get a happy ever after.
Loved the epilogue. Nice slice of life three years letter. Allie and Abe’s bonus scene was priceless.
ARC review For honest review. This story is funny that the friends get to pick the happy couple significant others through a marriage broker. Really cute and funny
his was a short story from Rocklyn but was in no was lacking. It is the fun story of Gavin and Jillian and their sweet adventure to find love. Gavin is from a small farming town and has decided that in his early thirties he really wants to settle down and start the family that he as always wanted. Being that he is from a town of only 389 people, he has decided to contact Raven and get matched to his perfect fit. This is where Jillian comes in. She is a lonely woman who lives in LA and has found that she is no longer satisfied with her life, she wants more: a husband and children. She knows that she will have to relocate and it okay with that.
As I stated above this is a short story but it hits all the notes that this author and this series of stories is known for. There is humor, great characters and a fun and interesting plot. I really enjoyed reading this one and was surprised that it felt like a full length story as all the elements were wrapped up and I was feeling satisfied with the outcome. There is even a little bonus in that we get the romance story of two couples instead of just one. What more can I say? Short, Sweet and Everything there is to love about this author wrapped into one great story.
