Blue is just lovely. I can’t get enough of this girl, the people who surround her, or the world she goes on her Adventures with.
I am tempted to make a list after listening to A Girl Named Blue
I really enjoyed Book 1 in Blue and her gangs story I liked how different Blue is as a MC and how I kinda wish I was like her more when I was her age haha (not that I am that much older!). I enjoyed the story and really loved her memories of her Dad and her. I had read some reviews while I had been listening to this on audio and thought I wasn’t going to like the person everyone said they loved buuuuuuut I was totally wrong. He might have to be added to my book boyfriends list from now on (even though I keep singing Moana songs in my head every time I heard his name hahaha).
I am intrigued on what is going to happen next, already picked up the next books on audio and on ebook. Wish I had more vacation time to lose myself in this story! I would highly recommend this series and cannot wait to read more. I am confirming the authors statements about this being a slow burn. If you are looking for super hot and steamy out of the gate, this is not what you want to read right now. This story shines for its storytelling and world building (I totally want to see what Beast looks like from Cecilia’s POV haha).
I adore Blue! Out of all the RHs out there, she’s in my top 5 female MCs. I love her personality, how she faces her fears, and interacts with everyone. The worlds involved are fascinating and I love the tension in this entire series.
I’ll be honest…I’m not normally a fan of slow-burn “YA/NA” stuff, because I am an old, bitter man… but Blue blew me away! Sinceriously!
Cecilia takes a few familiar tropes and stakes her claim on them, filling the book with incredible, unique characters and that’s pretty bloody difficult to do!
#StormApproved!
Well, this book was a fail for me. While based on the synopsis and the reverse harem genre it was promising at first, still for me it became painfully obvious form the first page that I won’t love it. Unfortunately, the narration of the story is so childish and immature that even if the main character is 18 and the rest of them are all older it was impossible for me to connect with it. The thing is that after such a huge and prominent problem (for me it was a problem) it takes a miracle for me to enjoy a book. The constant repetition didn’t help either.
However, the narration wasn’t the only problematic element in the book in my opinion. Still the plot wasn’t bad, it was a bit simple and somewhat predictable but I could enjoy it. However, when it comes to reverse harem this book could win the gold medal for sow burn, not only I couldn’t really identify the possible members of a future harem there wasn’t much of a romantic element to the book either. It kinda disappointed me a lot.
As for the world building, I think that was the one thing in the book that had the biggest potential it is just a shame that the introduction of it is full of dark spots and the whole thing is pretty glossed over.
I think I could have loved the characters if I really got to know them. Apart from Blue the rest of them stays in the shadows, barely, generically introduced despite having their own chapters. However, I didn’t love Blue. She had some redeeming qualities but she was awkward as hell, especially in the beginning. Not to mention her constant references to her stupid list and her behavior combined felt as if she lived her first 18 years in a isolated bubble and making a conversation is like winning a Noble prize. I’m kind of an introvert but I couldn’t relate t her at all. Her character was just unrealistic.
I probably going to give a try for the next book a well because I’m curious about the identities of her harem but all I can say that there are a lot of way better RH books out there.
Great start to a new series. We get to Blue as she settles in a new town with her mom and starts her senior year of high school. Just as she starts making friends and getting comfortable they all go on a hike only to find themselves in a strange new land. I have to say that I was hooked on both parts of the story wondering what strange new thing would pop up next. If you enjoy a good adventure both in our world and new ones then you should try this book. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
I love this book. I love the characters, the drama, the adventure, mystery and romance! I felt like blue was so relatable! The story was so well thought out and the writer did an amazing job of showing you the amazing new world in the book. I’m dying to see what’s next for blue and the crew. I’m going to start the new book….NOW!
All I’m going to say about this book is that it is a freaking amazing story! I was sucked in before I even finished the first chapter and I couldn’t climb out until I got to the end of the book! This was the first time reading anything by Cecilia Randell and I gotta say she’s awesome at creating her characters and weaving different realities to the point that they feel like they are real! I’m on to the next book because I have to know what happens to Blue and her friends.
So yes I most definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a fantastic story to crawl into and get lost within its pages!
