A Girl Like You is the first book from the Magnolia Sound Series that I have read. I loved reading and following Sam and Shelby’s story. I enjoyed the differences and the the similarities these two people have and are able to see how they see each other is what makes them a wonderful couple. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
Small town can’t keep them apart!
A Girl Like You by Samantha Chase is the second book in the Magnolia Sound series. This is the story of Sam and Shelby; two characters who you would never think belong together.
Sam is not one to stay in one place for long, but now he has to stay in Magnolia Sound for a full year due to the conditions of his great grandfather’s estate. He finds himself working for his great grandfather’s (now his own) landscaping company. But he wants to leave again, until…
Shelby is the town’s librarian. She leads what even she would say is a boring life. Her best friend encourages her to step out of her comfort zone. Sam is waaaay outside that zone, but he would never be interested in a girl like her!
This is a fun read with a bit of angst, a small town that has preconceived ideas of both Sam and Shelby. These two need to prove that they’re their own people and will act on their feelings regardless (or because) what the small town thinks and feels!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Samantha Chase has given us a sweet, sexy read with Shelby and Sam’s story. I loved them together. It was well written and the brilliant characters were compelling and addictive.
Shelby and Sam are complete opposites. Shelby is sweet, a librain and book worm, shes quiet and has little confidence. Sam is the local bad boy who has returned to Magnolia Sound from Virginia, he left town to escape his reputation. When his Great-Grandfather dies and leaves him his business he is forced to return.
When they meet at the local bar Sam doesn’t recognise the sweet Librarian as Shelby has recieved a make-over from a friend but the chemistry is electric between them. Even though they are ultimately complete opposites they brought out the best in each other. Shelby made Sam see past his reputation and he helped Shelby see what a gorgeous, sexy woman she is.
I am loving this series as it progresses so far and i am looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Shelby and Sam were AMAZING together. I don’t think Shelby could have been a more perfect heroine for Sam. She built him up when he didn’t think highly of himself, but she was also a more grounded heroine. My heart aches for Sam and what he was dealing with, whether it was facing his past, or granting her great grandfather’s wishes. I love the side of Shelby he brought out. She became this heroine who no longer went with the flow, but voiced her opinion when she wanted change.
I enjoyed catching up with the secondary characters in this book, and can’t wait to get Mason’s story! This is definitely a must read!!
By far one of my favorites!
Sometimes our loved ones really do know what’s best for us!
Sam will learn over the course of this story that Pops really did know what he was doing by bringing Sam back to Magnolia Sound. He will find where he truly belongs and who he really is with the help and love of Shelby.
