I’m not supposed to be here.Death has come for me more than once, and each time it’s been a boy who’s stood between me and my final breath.I called him Christopher when he saved me as a child. When he came into my life again, only months ago, I knew him as Wes. Just as he did the time before, he disappeared the moment he made sure I was out of harm’s way; as if I didn’t need any more saving. This … saving. This time, though, death left me with a reminder of how powerful it is. I know it meant to strip me of my spirit again, but it failed.Even so, I know I need Wes to survive. Our souls are woven together somehow, our every breath in sync. I feel it, even though everyone says I shouldn’t.The world thinks he’s missing. His loved ones don’t want to believe he’s dead.Only I know just how special he is.I’m going to find him and bring him home, where he belongs. Together, we’ll face impossible–we’ll rewrite our ending. And when the bad guys come calling, we will always win.

6++++ STARS!!!
Waiting for one of your most anticipated books can be stressful. You wander around the authors Facebook page, maybe even in their group, anxious for little teasers or even a mini excerpt. You bite your nails, possibly even start drinking while your stomach whirls, nervous about what’s to come.
A Boy Like You surpassed all my hopes and waiting for A Girl Like Me was HARD, but WOW, was it worth it. Magical, mystical, with twists and so many unexpected turns, Ginger Scott gives you a duet that checks all the boxes.
If you haven’t read A Boy Like You yet, STOP right here and do that right now as you have to read that prior to reading A Girl Like Me.
We all need superheroes—the person who will rescue you no matter what. It can be a friend, a family member, and sometimes, it can even be yourself.
When we last left Wes and Joss, Wes was missing but Joss knew down deep inside that he wasn’t gone for good. Determined to find the boy who’s always been her hero, Joss does what she does best, she doesn’t give up.
“Sometimes, Josselyn, things just are what they are. There isn’t some great reason, or some moment of redemption that makes all of the hurt and suffering right again.”
After reading A Boy Like You, I had no idea how Ginger Scott would pull off tying up all the loose ends and unanswered questions. My mind was spinning and my heart was in my throat. I cried—real tears—for two beautiful, incredible people who deserved all the happiness that life offers, yet faced obstacle after obstacle.
“…I try to wrap my brain around where I am, how this life is mine. None of it seems fair. I’ve has so very few years of happiness. A child should be happy. For a girl like me, though, happy has always been defined differently.”
These books will always hold a special place in my heart. Ginger Scott proves once again that she is brilliant, bringing these characters and this story to life. I adored the secondary characters as well and truly hope she revisits them someday.
If you’re looking for a #bookgasm and to get lost in a magical story, don’t hesitate and dive in. This duet is sitting on my top reads list for 2017, and Ginger Scott nailed it. Breathtaking, perfection. Pure gold.
A hero’s story
I loved this duet!!!
It was different in a great way !
It’s a young adult romance with a touch of supernatural and mystery and the best kind of super hero . (And it’s not cheesy at all)
Wes and joss are special ! They are bound in destiny and yet determined and stubborn to fight that which has been foreseen . Their story is emotional and crazy and they have to fight like super hero’s to get their happy ending – The authors note at the end just described it so well for me!
“While Wes’s powers are a little more magical, Joss’s are tangible—rooted in overcoming adversity, defying odds, believing when it feels impossible, breathing when you feel dead inside. Villains abound in real life, too. And this time, the good guys win.”
I highly recommend reading their story !! I was hooked from the beginning! I would so love to read more of Wes and joss as this end as they are about to head off to college – but it also ends in a way that says these two will over come anything that is thrown their way !!
Awesome read !!
Wow the waiting was so worth it…A Girl Like Me is an amazing read.
Ginger Scott wrote a sequel as good and as engaging as the first book, the emotional roller-coaster that characterized A Boy Like You is still there and it kept me on my toes from the start to the very end.
Even if the author didn’t explain some things I think that is not important because I focused my attention on the power of resilience, that is all human,of our heroine Joss.
I fell for Wes in the first book but I loved Joss in this one, I’ve really appreciated her growing since the beginning of this journey.
I hope to see these characters again in the future, in the meantime I’ll keep them in my heart forever.
