Book #3, Terranovum Brides Trilogy. This is the finale in a wonderful sci-fi/paranormal/erotic romance series!
Terranovum is a planet filled with great beauty, wonder, and true magic! But nothing is ever perfect, regardless of how wondrous it might seem. When native women from Terranovum give birth to female children, those females are infertile. As a result, the Terranovans got creative long ago. Their solution? Kidnap females from Earth to keep Terranovum’s population stable and thriving. The Earth females are trained and auctioned as slaves. Some are fortunate enough to earn a place in Terranovan society as wives. And some are endowed with very special and extraordinary powers, the likes of which could never be imagined on Earth! Olivia started life on Terranovum as a female slave assigned to a kind family living on the edge of Legeari. But all that changed when forces from D’Lormere invaded, killing the family she was serving and capturing her. After undergoing unimaginable torture and terror, she’s finally rescued. Now she’s back in Eridell, the capital of Legeari, and about to undergo training to be auctioned off as a slave to yet another owner. And while the family she used to serve was kind to her, her new trainer, Wes, is anything but. Wes is a commander in the Terranovan military, friend and confidante of the king, and is filled with hatred of the malicious wickedness that is the center of D’Lormere, that evil which destroyed his life in so many ways. His only goal is life is to seek vengeance for the loss of so much. He wants to feel nothing, do his job, protect the kingdom, and find his revenge. But Olivia gets to him. And he seems to take great delight in tormenting and baiting her to the point where her defiance and anger get the best of her. Olivia’s life changes when she meets two new friends who are so very special and make a huge difference in her life. As she settles into some semblance of normalcy, the ancient evil at the heart of D’Lormere, that which has been trying to destroy not only Legeari, but the entirety of Terranovum, suddenly makes a reappearance. When Olivia’s once again captured by the vicious ruler of D’Lormere, everything’s turned upside down and inside out. Olivia learns that she’s not just another human. She’s very special in ways she never could have imagined. What exactly is she, and why has she never know about any of this before? Her life, and the lives of everyone on Terranovum, could very well rest in her hands. But she has no idea what to do and how to do it. She needs help to figure this out. But where can she possibly find that help? And despite Wes’ best intentions, he knows he has to help her, and the others like her, who are the last, best hope for all of Terranovum. Will he be able to set aside his anger and thirst for vengeance? Or will he doom himself, Olivia, and possibly all of Terranovum to extinction because he can’t accept what is right in front of him? Nothing is certain. Everything is at stake. Ultimately, there are six people who will have to make life-altering decisions that could save, or end, all life on Terranovum. Will they be able to do it, or will they fail utterly, losing everything they hold dear?
Sara Fields is an absolutely brilliant author and one of my very favorites. Her writing is creative, ingenious, and inventive. She has the ability to combine sci-fi, paranormal, and erotic romance into a confection of incredible delight, depth, and wonder. This third and final book in the Terranovum Brides Trilogy is the climax of the entire series, and Sara Fields ends this trilogy in such an amazing and memorable way! Once again, the combination of action, adventure, magic, good, evil, and romance are uniquely and deliciously enchanting. Ms. Fields has taken the world she has created and given us an ending that I’ll never forget. She is a true master of this genre. This series has been a real treat for me, from beginning to end. I give A Gift for the Commander my very highest recommendation. Thank you, Sara Fields, for creating such a wonderful world full of delight, magic, mystery, and so much more. This book, and entire series, is exceptional, and you’re truly an author extraordinaire!
