Miss Sarah Crosby knows she is already considered a spinster. Sent to London in order to take care of her aunt and help her cousin to make her debut, she has no hope for her own future. It is only when Miss Bavidge introduces her to Lady Smithton that she finally starts to believe that she might be able to have a life of her own.Unfortunately, most of her time is taken up accompanying her cousin, … up accompanying her cousin, Miss Sophia Marks. Much to her shame, Sarah finds herself becoming greatly interested in one of her cousin’s suitors, Lord Daniel Ruddington. He is quiet and retiring, barely smiles and seems to carry a great weight on his shoulders but she is still drawn to him.
Lord Daniel Ruddington has no-one he can turn to.
Pretending that he is nothing more than a gentleman enjoying London society, he hides a great secret and a furious anger within his heart as he attempts to further his acquaintance with Miss Sophia Marks. However, his gaze is so often drawn to her companion, her quiet, kind nature contrasting with his determination for revenge.
Will he be able to take his revenge? Or will Miss Crosby be the one to stop him?
This book is the third book of a series called The Spinsters Guild, a group of unusual ladies who are almost “on the shelf”. Can Lady Emily help them find their perfect match?

Is Revenge really sweet?
This book is one of Ms Pearson’s best, in my opinion. Much of it is told through the eyes of a gentleman whose family was degraded. He plots to execute revenge upon those who destroyed his family, but when the moment finally comes, all he can think of is the destruction he is about to cause, both to the offending family and his true love. How will he ever decide what to do, and, can he live with either choice?
Ms Pearson is well-qualified to write Regency romances; her stories are so well-written that I can never resist one if her name is on the front. This book is no exception. Thank you for an excellent telling of an age-old dilemma from the man’s point of view. It was a delightful change from most romances of this era.

This is the third installment of the Spinster Guild series. No one does regency romance like Rose Pearson! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and this series. This book was about a choice between love and revenge! The characters were wonderful! Sarah has overcome many obstacles since after one season her father relegated her to spinster status and sent her to help her flighty cousin in her first season! I highly recommend this book and this series!

Entertaining. Bit predictable. A good build to a relationship. But I disagreed with how much she overlooked. Still a good story.
While being forceed to be a companion to her snotty cousin,Sarah meets the love of her life. The Lord she love, however, seems to prefer her cousin. Somethings seems wrong with the courting of the cousin. What can he be thinking? A very sweet romance that brings to light the struggles of the Lord. Thankfully it has a HEA ending
A Gentleman’s Revenge continues Rose Pearson’s series that tackles the prejudices of the “ton” in Regency England and it’s effects on women. I really like the twist Rose presents in this novel, where those outside society’s norm set the “beau monde” on their collective “arses” ! In a Gentleman’s Revenge, another member of the so-called Spinsters Guild, gets her chance at romance. Once again Rose Pearson’s development of her main character’s transformation from a weak mouse to a women who recognizes her worth, is very well done. Her description of the period, the events and people encountered is like a trip through time. Like good fiction is meant to do, A Gentleman’s Revenge provided a welcome escape from my daily tasks. It was a lovely respite. Add a cup of tea and a roaring fire and the lovely interlude is complete.
I recommend you pick up this novel as well as the rest of the series. It is not your normal Regency romance; it’s better!
Lost interest and didn’t finish it.
Ok. Ending was too abrupt
OK but not great.
Love conquers all, even if it hurts.
I loved this book!
Lovely story line, young woman finds herself saddled with the chore of getting her cousin married off. Her cousin happens to be a total nitwit determined to make herself a laughingstock before the ton. Great read.
Weak unlikeable heroes. They became more redeeming through the story but if he takes advantage of a woman as the premise, and then falls in love with a new woman (or the same woman for the first “hero”) and now he decides he cares about her and will treat her well, it does not excuse that he didn’t care a twit about the first woman he disrespected. I don’t find them redeemed.
awkward plots. I wouldn’t purchase this again and had to force myself to read all of them.
They did have some good points. So, keep at it!
Boring
This book was worth reading I did not get bored at all I relished the feeling of finishing the book. Beautiful plots and character development
Even though I figured out why the H was lying I still enjoyed most of the story. I have said many times how I dislike stories where secrets are kept. This one was kept through 90% of the book. As he finally confesses his reason, you understand what drove him. Still doesn’t make it right, but I forgave him somewhat.
This is a clean story only kisses at the end. I was disappointed how the story just ends abruptly. If ever a story cried for an epilogue it is this one. I wanted to know how did the cousin react when the H/h declared their love. Did anyone confront the cousin’s father?
No cheating, HEA, little on romance and clean. The story ends at the 90% mark on my e-reader. Rest is blurb for the next in the series. (ljb)
This is the third book of the Spinster Guild a group of young women who are being helped by Lady Smithton and Lord Havisham to find love. All the ladies for one reason or other feel they are Spinster with no hope of finding a Husband and they love they want.
Miss Sarah Crosby has come to town to help her cousin thru her first season. Miss Sophia Marks is a selfish, spoiled brat. She has no intention to do as her father wants and find a husband. She wants to play and be the center of attention to all the young gentleman. She is young and very pretty and has them following her like sheep. Both Sarah and Sophia fathers are titled Gentleman. Something Sophia forgets and treats Sarah as a servant most of the time.
Lord Daniel Ruddington is man on a mission one of Hatred and Revenge. He wants to get even with the family who ruined his sister. He knows what he plans to do with also ruin an innocent young lady who had nothing to do with the wrong done his sister. He has talked himself into believing it’s the only way.
At one of the Balls he runs into Sarah and almost knocks her down. He finds out she is the chaperone to Sarah who he has been looking for an introduction. Now to put his plan into action.
Unfortunate Daniel has not counted on meeting someone like Sarah.
As he spends time with her to be around her cousin, he can’t help the attraction to the wrong lady
or is she the right one.
With secrets on both sides can these two learn what is really important in time or will it be too late.
All of Rose’s books are clean reads with romance added for spice.
I received and ARC from the author and want to thank her. This is my opinion and voluntarily give it.
Venom and grace, clicked feelings and revenge. I really enjoyed this regency and am excited to see what happens to the next spinster.
