About the Author–

A real page-turning mystery and historical aspect was a bonus!
So glad our future is no longer decided by men!! Love the triumphant woman!!
This is a beautifully written story with hidden secrets eventually being uncovered as it progresses. Just goes to show that secrets are as bad in a relationship as lies and how they can affect a relationship if not brought to light.
The main characters are strong in their own rights and hold the story together nicely. There is also good wit, mystery, a blooming love story, a meddling sister/sister-in-law, loving parents and siblings, and of course an evil villain – all of this making it an entertaining and very enjoyable book that I couldn’t put down.
Great read with a twist in the plot.
pride, honor, failure to communicate cause upheavals in relationship.
Too much sex
It was pretty good, but I got frustrated with the “Gentleman” not telling because it is the mother’s place to tell, but she wouldn’t tell, so the wife was mad at her husband. UGH.
Excellent book in the series. I ordered each one after to continue reading about the characters to see what would happen.
kept my interest
Interesting characters and plot. Entertaining.
Enjoyed the plot, and the outcome. Very well written
Entertaining with several unexpected twists, neat on the romance, cute on the nievety of the heroine and the protagonist came from an intriguing entry.
Well written and definitely a page turner.
The story started out promising. They were cutesy and cliché. It was a heartwarming story. And then it went off the rails. There was so much miscommunication and secrets it felt like drama was been created for the sake of drama. But overall it was a entertaining read and happily ever after.
I got half way through. At first I was pleased. The h and h met, were attracted, even married within the week (although this bothered me. Even for the unrealistic world of romance novels, too too quickly done). They met no great, irrational obstacles, everyone liked everyone, even the bad guy was easily thwarted. A charming, enjoyable read.
And then … the heroine goes through her new husband’s desk. Opens his mail. And turns into an irrational, demanding, totally ridiculous bitch. She refuses to let him explain, refuses to believe the little he manages to get out, refuses to accept anything other than his total capitulation to her demands. And, of course, refuses to at all acknowledge the total dishonesty of her own actions, let alone her behavior.
Right.
I stopped reading. A very irritating swing for the book to take.
Great read. Hard to put down.
Good story but as much as the author tries to make Phoebe not seem so weak, something else comes up, even to the end.
I enjoyed reading this book until suddenly I arrived at the “steamy” part. I enjoy clean reads and so didn’t finish the book. I’m sure it would have been delightful because I enjoyed it up to the sex.
An easy read.
